Butler Pitch & Putt is an iconic Austin establishment in my eyes. Although I was not there to play golf today, they made for an amazing host for the Champs Run Club event. The area is nestled in the heart of downtown Austin right by Lady Bird Lake. The run event was set up right by the clubhouse. They were very accommodating hosts allowing the tents to be set up for the DJ, demo shoes and other vendors in attendance including Champs and StretchLab. We were able to utilize the green for our pre race stretching and the race start and stop line was on the course. They provided water and sandwiches in the clubhouse after the run. The employees are very kind and accommodating and charged my phone for me when my battery level was low so that I could have enough power to track my run on Strava. When an unexpected storm came in during the event, they made sure everyone had cover under the awning and in the clubhouse. Overall amazing location to host the running event and can't wait to come back to play golf soon.

It was a lot of fun to golf this par 3. Greens very close so no driver is needed. A couple clubs needed and a golf ball. You que your golf ball in a slot and wait till your turn. It was a 45 minute wait for us which we were told was not bad for a Friday morning. A 4 star is because no staff member was overseeing the ball slot and so people we were waiting needlessly to take their turn. Eventually, the people next after the absent people just teed off. It was all good in the end. Major backups at home 5(20 minutes) and a few balls came our way. Thankfully, the net and a tree blocked the ball. It was relaxing and fun. The Gimme burger food truck is on site. Beer and beverages are available for purchase. Complimentary cold water and cup also available. A great place to learn and practice. No tee times allowed and check the calendar to make sure they are open. They close for leagues and special events. We will be back.

Parking can be difficult, Saturday morning will be very busy, but OVERALL best experience. Right in the center of Austin, such a great vibe and it's a very unique PAR 3 course. Anybody $13, Veterans can play for $9, you can rent clubs. Best to practice with your own clubs if you have them (putter and a wedge) I went alone for the first time and it took me about 40 min, but if you go with a group about a quick 1.5-2 hours. First come first serve which is great! Lots of beer selection and bring in your own water. Any level is welcome, nobody will make fun of you, we just here to enjoy golfing with friends!

I didn't plan to play, just wanted to tag along with my husband but I'm glad he made me play with him because I had so much fun! My husband had been wanting to come back here for quite sometime now - Butler was his favorite par-3 course in his prime (lol). Butler's vibe is a laid back short golf course (I would say this place is even okay for people like me; I officially graduated from the mini golf course but not quite qualified to play at a legit golf course yet...). It's a nine hole par-3 course but I must say it was quite intimidating at first since all I saw were guys. However, there were more ladies later on in the day and the more I played and had so much fun I forgot about everything else. We got there at 8:30AM on Saturday but since the greens had frost on them, we had to wait till 8:45AM before they allowed the first party to proceed. I really liked the course including each holes gradual difficulty level; and the fact that it's surrounded by nature (had we been here in spring or summer when trees had all their leaves it would have been even better). It's in the middle of downtown chaos (you see sky high buildings in one direction and downtown traffic, or trains in another) so it has this Central Park appeal to it. They have a club house where you check in/pay for the service and they also sell breakfast (from Little Ola's Biscuits), beverages, snacks, and merch. The unisex bathrooms are right up front where you enter (you will need a code from the club house to use it and the bathrooms are clean and have heaters which is a major plus on a cold January morning). All in all, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to have fun whether an amateur (like me) or avid golfers it is just a plain great time!

This is such a hidden little spot in downtown Austin. The view of the skyline is absolutely gorgeous! We started with food and Gimme Burger was absolutely delicious! I loved my cheeseburger with Gimme sauce and crispy fries. We went during the day on Tuesday so there weren't a lot of people which was really nice. They had a wide selection of beers to chose from and an office dog that was too cute! The only reason I give it 4/5 stars is because there was a horrible smell throughout the course. We couldn't figure out what it was but it was AWFUL! I overall had a fun time and will come back again! (Please just fix the smell)

This place is my new Adult playground. Awesome spot for wedge/putting practice. Interesting system for tee times, gotta be present to play. Very cool vibe at the property with amazing downtown skyline views. Combined with a very chill and relaxed atmosphere at the tee box and waiting areas. Onsite staff the day I played were fantastic and super-helpful. Very much recommend this place for your short game enjoyment!!

I want to start by saying what I great place! This was my 2nd time here. The pitch & putt sits on a whole block in downtown Austin. It has incredible views on each hole. This is a Par 3 course, the hole yardage ranges from 60-115 yards. Perfect place to work on your short game but just keep your head up the holes are pretty close together. Butler is good for all skill levels. My favorite hole is the 9th hole I believe. It feeling like your hitting from the sidewalk. Parking is kinda tough here, they only have a few spots up front(free) Otherwise it's street parking and you have to pay for that. I do believe they have parking garages near by it's probably a few blocks away. You can bring your own clubs or you can rent from the course. I think it was $15 for greens fee and clubs rental. They serve food & drinks. I'll be coming back every time I'm in Austin!

Love this place to bits. Weather you pop in for a quick round or decide to join one of their leagues (yay ladies league!) you're going to have fun no matter what skill level. They have a solid canned beer and beverage selection and I believe they have a few snack and food options available inside the clubhouse along with the burger truck located outside. I've been in on a Sunday morning and had a cup of coffee and a biscuit sandwich will waiting for my turn, best way to spend a weekend morning. Staff is always really nice and helpful. You can rent some clubs or purchase a few golf balls. The only complaint I have is that I wish they would bring back the Gatorade in a can, other than that the folks here a doing a good job

As someone who plays golf at a regular course a few times a month, I was on the fence between a 4 and a 5, but going with a 5. Such a great vibe the minute you step on the property. Got a good truck at the entrance with delicious fries, corn hole, oversized connect 4 and tons of out doors seating to have a beer and watch people tee off or finish up, or watch golf on one of their big screen TVs. The kids in the shop were super friendly and accommodating with the golf clubs we requested. Place is super affordable, just a couple bucks for balls and a couple club rentals. 15 for the 9 holes. For an average golfer you really can get away with a sand wedge and a putter, maybe a lob of you happen to have your clubs with you but definitely don't pack any for this spot since all holes are less than 100 yards. The beers and clothing in the shop were decently priced as well, and they had a good selection. Now the not so good.. they don't take tee times and the wait time to tee off can be a little long, so be prepared to hang and have a drink outside before your round. Also, the greens are incredibly slow, but for people who don't really play I suppose that could be preferred. They had groups of 5 out there, so if I recommend going with a few people so you're not waiting so long after each hole. I really do recommend checking this place out with friends or even on a double date, even if you're not a great golfer. It's very beginner friendly and if the weather is nice, it's an awesome place to go have a couple beers, hit some balls, and enjoy the sun.

Honey Chicken Sandwich in the Pro Shop
    Christopher C.

Summary: great environment, great par 3 golf course! COURSE: well-constructed and maintained course. Great practice for the short game and up and down practicing! Shortest hole was 61 yards to the longest hole of 101 yards! WAIT: it's first come first serve, so arrive early or be prepared to wait for around an hour for the weekend rounds! There's so much to do within that hour although-- fun games such as connect 4, putting green and more! I sound like an ad, but it truly is a good time here! FOOD: grabbed a honey chicken sandwich for $10 and it was worth it. A good eat! Will come back! Perhaps, at a lighter time thiug Cheers
