Played here for the first time and was honestly really impressed. Paid around $150 for a noon tee time and thought it was absolutely worth it, especially for being only about 30 minutes outside of Austin. The course is surrounded by trees and has a really cool vibe to it. Greens had a couple rough spots, but that's pretty expected for Texas in the summer. Pro shop staff and starter were both friendly, pace of play was smooth, and the GPS/Bluetooth carts were a really nice touch. The pro shop also had a great selection of merchandise. My only small note would be that I didn't really have any interaction with the outside staff before or after the round, and after finishing I was actually ready to tip but didn't see anyone around. Overall though, definitely a course I'm coming back to play. read more

I've booked several tee times here and it always seems like something weird happens. My wife and I took off work today and both our kids came in town to play, then we get a notification just before heading over that they closed the range and practice area for mowing in the middle of the day. Apparently this was scheduled, they just failed to tell everyone who scheduled tee times. It blew our day and it was too late to get on anywhere else and be done when we needed to be. If they would have simply listed the range was going to be closed we could've started earlier and played somewhere else. With the price to play here rarely matching the course condition, and the weird decisions they make (may be staffing related), it's probably the last time I try and play this place. It's a shame because it's only 10min away and I was hoping to join this fall. read more

Course is super well laid out and has potential to be a very nice course! However, Green fees today were $190 which in my opinion is outrageous for the condition of the course. The greens where the major issues are... Greens are Pockmarked and almost all greens have some form of disease making it bumpy/uneven. Other than that - facilities and staff were great! But this course should be in the $100-$120 range... Not pushing $200. read more

Fun course. Need to know your distances and lay up a lot. Greens were in good shape and fast, rough is very inconsistent Only saw the beverage cart once. No Marshall to keep pace of play. We were just shy of 5 hours. Definitely way overpriced. read more

This course is solid. I've played most of the courses within a 20 mile radius of downtown and this one definitely is worth the trek. Solid greens, tee boxes and spaced appropriately. Saw plenty of greens keeping and overall a well kept property, plus they validate parking. ‍ read more

For $190 you should expect a lot more. Practice facility was 3 holes for putting, 2 pins for chipping, and about 8-10 spots on the range total. Tee boxes were horrible, fairways were mostly nice except for a few bad areas, greens were good, but not for $190. Took us 5 1-2 hours because they let 4 groups of 5 go off in front of us. Unless this place drops its prices to $80-$100 where they should be I will not be back. Layout was very fun though. read more

Wow what a great course! This is a course what you see is what you get, very playable and it was in great shape. I was there for a golf event and it was very well hosted by the staff. I did not stay at the resort but it looks nice. I see a review on 6/2/21 that the greens were in bad shape. I guess they improved a lot in two weeks because they were in pretty good shape. Overall great course and great experience. I do plan on visiting again and staying at the resort to give it a run. read more

I wouldn't give it 1 star, but if you charge $130+ a round at a MINIMUM, the greens don't need to look like crap. I WISH I had taken pictures of some of the greens. I know # 13 was the worst of the 18 by far. There were multiple times when I had to move my ball because there were dead spots that my ball would've bounced on if I had kept the original line. Everything else was nice. Fairways in good condition, bunkers, tee boxes, etc. But don't charge so much for a course where about half the greens are an embarrassment. And don't use the "drought" as an excuse. There are A LOT of courses around the area that did not let their greens get so bad. All the folks working at the course could not have been nicer. Customer service is top-notch. Greens superintendent, I would be EMBARRASSED if I were you. I'd rather have crap fairways than crap greens. I commend the staff, though; the greens you can see from the road when you drive into the resort look nice. I'm sure the Hyatt has more money to put in to this place. The course definitely needs some work for the green fees they are charging. The greens were probably the worst. But the most disappointing factor was the support of staff when cart stopped operating 40 yards from designated area to not enter. Called pro shop for support and after not being able to get the cart operating we had to walk to the next teebox. Delay of nearly 25 minutes. They got the cart working but were so indifferent and almost rude, like we couldn't follow instructions or the suggestions they provided. Mentioned to the pro shop after the round and no different response. Sad. read more

Don't bother with these guys. The greens are absolutely awful. They have no pride in their customer service either. we got rained out at 14 and after battling they refused to let us come back and offered 25% off next round. Not granted a rain check for a $100 round. You need to take more pride in your course and the way you treat people that play here. read more

I've been here two times. The first time I set my golf bag down outside the clubhouse and when I come back my driver was missing from my bag. It was never recovered. The second time I bought the wingman bushnell speaker and that was stolen as well. Last time I visit wolf dancer. read more

Played on Oct 2 and on Oct 5. Overall the course is in good shape. Greens were cut for the second round and it made for a better experience. The course could use some watering but still a good time. Pace of play was good as well. read more

They layout of the course is fantastic but the upkeep is very poor. For the price of the round ($145 with a hot deal on golf now) it definitely isn't worth it. The greens were in bad shape and the sand traps had grass growing out of them. This has potential to be a top notch course but just is not worth the money. The most i would pay would be $50. This is a total gem! Wow! My wife and I played yesterday and the course was in great shape. Some of the bunkers were quite hard and not very "sandy". Almost hardpanish. But nonetheless, the course was in fantastic shape. The driving range was too notch. The service was top notch! Though we didn't stay at the resort my wife and definitely made plans in our heads to come back. From what we could see the resort had pools, a lazy river, an area to watch a movie on the lawn, and a great dinner in the clubhouse. The staff was incredibly kind and made sure we had a ride back to our car. We saw all kind of wildlife from cardinals, lots of deer, one armadillo, and ever a baby rattler! Yikes!!! Couldn't believe this gem is hiding out here in Cedar Creek. We can't wait to come back. read more

Public non-muni course about 1/2 hour outside of Austin at the Hyatt Lost Pines complex. 7205 yards from the tips, but lots of tee choices. Impeccably maintained course, from tee to green. Beautiful layout with lush fairways, wildflowers, and sweeping vistas for the rolling hill country. The course is laid out in a fair and entertaining manner. There are a couple of tough holes and a little local knowledge helps. We played with one of the 50 or so members who joined up with us about 2/3 of the way through and he helped us figure out where to place our tee shots for the best angle to the green. The fairways here are smooth so you can expect of a lot of roll-out and can use that to your advantage. There's a gorgeous hole with a cascading waterfall and brook that you have to stop and enjoy before playing. Service was really warm and helpful. Carts had the most advanced GPS system I have ever seen, with flyovers, touch screen for distances, etc. The facility has a great driving range and short game practice area as well as two putting greens, one flatter and one more shaped like the greens you will find on the course. The greens rolled true and were fun to putt on. Breaks were a little challenging but not stupid by any means - for example, it's helpful to be below the hole but side putts are drainable and putts from above the hole don't automatically roll off the front if you miss. Fairways are pretty generous in width and the first cut of rough is also pretty wide. No OB on the course, but some native grass past the first cut of rough which is thick and eats balls, so you have to think about risk/reward. There's usually always something, maybe just a little thing, that annoys me about a golf course. I can say though that this place was just perfect. To add to the perfect day of golf, take your scorecard into the bar and you will pay $0.01 per stroke for your first beer. I paid $0.89. I would have paid less, but had some problems in the sand! The bar was very nice and the bartender very friendly and capable. Great course, will make it a must-stop part of any trip to Austin. read more

This is a golfers golf-course! Amazing beautiful, can be tough to moderate depending on the tees you decide to play. I played BLUE and its still over 6,800 yards - and it played that way! Loved it thought! Conditions are great for January. Staff was wonderful. I wouldn't stay on property (the hotel looked a bit old from outside) but next time in Austin, Wolfdancer will get a call from me! read more

With a buy one green fee and get one free, it comes out to $40 and change. The best deal anywhere for a first class course like Wolfdancer. With its fast greens, nice fairways and scenic views, Wolfdancer presents a challenging and enjoyable round. It was the first Texan golf course I've played and my high expecations of great golf courses in Austin were truly satisfied. Terrific views, a great design and a course that is in good shape make the Wolfdancer a course i can hardly recommend. There are some really adventerous holes on this course: Hole 6 is a beautiful Par 3 with a nice water fall. It is short and it is pretty easy to hit the green, but one should be aware that keeping the ball below the hole is a key to success. My favourite hole was the pretty par 3 on the back nine. It is very short due to an elevation difference of maybe 40 yards. I was very impressed by the astonishing view over the ranch and the country side of Texas. I will never forget this hole. Since I played after 5 pm on a Saturday, I paid about $45 for a great round of golf. I can definitly recommend this course for everyone who wants to play a really nice public golf course in the area. read more

Great course, great experience! They pick up your clubs at in the lobby, drive you to the clubhouse, which isn't that far away by cart. You are greeted by staff and asked your name. They give you a complimentary name plate for your bag and also engrave it with your name!!! The GPS system is awesome, gives you a flyover of every hole, scorecard is electronic and easy to use and is fast. Greens were consistent, and service was impeccable! read more

Staff were all very nice. However, the course is not in good shape. Was very unexpected, as had played here three years ago and it was lovely. What is going on? Won't be back until I hear the greens are in better shape and the weeds are gone on the tee-boxes, etc. read more

After having not played at Wolfdancer for over two years because of the high price and poor conditions I went back recently and was equally as disappointed. The greens are rock hard, the bunkers are largely in poor condition, and the fairways were marginal. Add to that they given you a tiny bag of balls to hit on the range. For a resort course and great layout this course has seen better days. read more

This course is beautiful and well kept. However the price of $165 is a little steep for one person. This was a once in a while splurge on this outing. Wouldn't pay that again as there are many courses in the area just as beautiful for $60-$70. read more

Tee boxes were in horrible condition. Fairways were too thatchy. Traps nights as well be plowed under there is no sand. Greens were too slow and a lot of greens were down to sand. Can't believe this is a Hyatt resort. Certainly not worth $100+ for green fee. I'd give 0 scores but I can't. read more

I wouldn't waste your money. Course was nice but wasn't managed well. No one was monitoring etiquette of play nor speed of play. Multiple "members" were playing too closely yet we were waiting for people playing multiple balls on a busy course. During 18 holes only saw beer girl 2 times. Play a different course. Wolfdancer... Great course layout and shape, but the fact that I had to wait 30 minutes to get a golf cart because they were all taken/used and the fact that the round took 5 hours and 30 minutes will mean I am never coming back. When asked the marshals and told them about the slow play they said there is "nothing we can do" and the course is "stacked". I play many golf courses that are "stacked" and never takes 5+ hours to play. Horrible, just horrible. read more

Have played here multiple times, always enjoyed it. HOWEVER, played there today (5/4/15) and everyone in our group was so disgusted with the excruciatingly slow play, we will NEVER play there again! We (& the group behind us) started complaining about the group in front of us on the 2nd hole to the worthless course marshal. The group behind us finally got so fed up they quit, we talked to the marshal at least 5 or 6 times to no avail!!! To spend $148, and then have that kind of disregard to complete lack of golf etiquette is not an enjoyable way to spend an ENTIRE afternoon. We considered demanding our money back, it was that bad!! Screw this overpriced place, there are lots of great course around that DO NOT tolerate this kind of bad golf behavior! read more
