I've recently fallen in love with Butlers. It feels like an oasis getaway compared to being at Starbucks all the time. I love the peaceful environment, the music selection they have playing, the outstanding service and of course the coffee and food! So far I've gotten their medium roast coffee, a blended Carmel frapp, hot Carmel macchiato, mango smoothie and for food- the grilled chicken sandwich. Finally, a REAL coffee shop in Palmdale! A transplant from New England, I've totally hated not having Dunkin' Donuts around here (and I'm not a fan of overpriced burnt chain coffee). Now with Butler's, I have something even better than my DD at every corner back home--fresh brewed, DELICIOUS coffee in a great, comfy atmosphere that invites you to stay and enjoy the coffee before bustling out the door. The staff is always friendly and cordial and already know my favorite drink that I'm most likely to order. I make it a point to stop by several times a week and more often than not, it's the absolute highlight of my day! :) It's great they have wi-fi and board games (makes it even cozier!) and the music on the sound system never fails to make me smile. The soups are really yummy and the smoothies ROCK, too, if you're not a coffee nut. Also, I know my friends with kids really appreciate the "kid zone" for the little ones while the mommies kick back and enjoy their cuppa joe. For the coffee nuts... well, DUH. Great coffee, whether you choose one of the regular (or cleverly flavored) roasts, or go for fancy espresso drinks. They also do a great job with the acoustic/live music sets and Kevin's doing a fantastic job showcasing local talent from the greater LA area. Bottom line: support your local coffee shop! I am not someone who usually takes the time to write reviews, but I just discovered a gem of an independent coffee house and I wanted to share! The place is called Butler's Coffee and it is located in Palmdale near the mall and in the same shopping center as Buffalo Wild Wings. Their coffee drinks are the best I have ever had. And I have had a lot of coffee! Not only do they roast their own beans on site, they have blended mocha's that are like having a dessert. Their sugar free hot mocha is better than any regular mocha I've had. They have ruined Starbucks for me. And their chicken tortilla soup is so good I have developed an absolute weekly craving for it. They also have live music on Saturdays, and if you live in Palmdale you know that we are in desperate need of something like that. If you like really good coffee or smoothies, or carmel latte whatevers, they have it and they do it right. Try them! read more

Wonderful little cafe, great atmosphere. Coffee and pastries are delicious, nice break from the chain coffee shops. Comfortable seating with wall full of books and board game for your enjoyment. Wifi onsite and they even have some great live music in the evening on some nights. I would call it "the cozy little coffee shop around the corner". =) read more

I'm sitting here at Butlers, drinking the best chai latte I've ever had, and eating a nom-tastic veggie breakfast burrito. And using fast, free WiFi. Loves it! The staff here are good people. I've had a lot of lattes and chai teas here and it's always really good. They also have some great live entertainment. On the first Wednesday of every Month at 7pm, they have an improv troupe come in and do a free show. It's a nice change of pace to see some live improv comedians taking audience suggestions and playing games with them and doing hilarious scenes. I recommend checking them out. read more

I absolutely LOVE Butler's! Such a great coffee shop! The service is always good, staff is very friendly. They have a great menu; lots of pastries and such to choose from. Their frappes and lattes, in my opinion, are even better than Starbucks. The atmosphere is great. I can go with my laptop and work, relax with a friend, and on certain nights even hear some local musicians. I have never been disappointed at any visit. Once, when they were busy, my order was taking a little long, but as I was in no hurry, I didn't mind. Come to find out they had somehow lost my order (they noticed before I did). Not only did they quickly bring me my order and offer me a very sincere apology, they also presented me with a token for a free coffee at my next visit! Another draw for me here is the children's corner. They have a corner of the room set aside with toys, books, and even small chairs and a table just for kids! My daughter is two and loves it when we go to Butler's! This is a favorite meeting place for friends as many of us have small children. We can visit and drink coffee while the kids play. Very relaxing! It is so rare that a place can be so family/kid friendly and also a great place to drop by on date night with the hubby and friends! It is cool, relaxing, and fun! read more

Just tried this cute little place! As a fellow worker for a small mom and pop coffee shop I love to try other ones. I have to say this place was very cute! There's shelves of games to play and even a little corner for the kids to play in. I got two coffees, an iced white chocolate mocha and an iced caramel latte. I love my white chocolate mocha and my mom loves her caramel latte. It was a little bit of a wait but the man was by himself and you have to expect a little time for tasty hand crafted drinks. So.. this place is REALLY cool! I had to drop someone off in this plaza and needed a place to work on my computer. Someone recommended I try Butler's Coffee for the day. I love it.. and lots more than Starbucks too (sorry Starbucks - have been a loyal customer for a few years but I think I will go to Butler's from now on when I am near). Butler's has a good temperature inside (unlike Starbucks which is freezing at all times no matter whether it is cold or hot - which makes you think they don't want you to stay for long). Also, the music is not that loud so it is easy to focus and if you have to take a call you are still able to hear the person and they can hear you as well. Additionally, I noticed they have games in the corner which is super cool and they even have icecream.. and other cool things! It has a nice and comfortable vibe inside. This place is so great. Palmdale really needs more nice cafes besides Starbucks. I came here for an open mic night and it was a lot of fun! It's great to see the youth of the AV out and about. The singers were okay, no Adele's in the making. But I had a great time and the cafe is super study/chill environment. I've been going to Butler's for over ten years now. I typically go to study. It's generally a very quiet and comfortable place for that kind of thing. The staff is very friendly and the food and coffee is good too. I haven't been to a better coffee shop in the Antelope Valley. I went to Coffee Bean for a while as well, but the place became too busy and was no longer an ideal study environment. read more

I've been to Butlers a few times when they first opened. Each time I hoped the customer service would improve...gave up after 3 or 4 visits. About a year has passed and my daughter wanted to meet for coffee. It was a cold night, and for some reason, I said I would meet her at Butlers. We ordered our coffees (brewed cup and a hot latte for myself). He immediately handed my daughter her coffee, we walked over to the area for cream & sugar, chatted for a few minutes while standing waiting for my latte and desserts. I noticed the man who took our order hadn't left the register. I asked if maybe he had forgotten my latte? He said "no, we'll bring it to you, you don't have to stand there and wait". Interesting....since there was no place to sit. We sat outside in the cold and after a few more minutes, a woman brought out the rest of our order. By then my daughter had already finished her coffee. While sitting outside looking in, I couldn't figure out why I would ever come back. The place was crowded (why I don't know), and noisy. It actually reminded me of an arts & craft/daycare that served mediocre coffee. I'm all for supporting local independent businesses, but Starbucks or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.... here I come!! read more

I've come here a couple of times throughout the year I have lived in town and I really want to love this place, but I can't. Maybe it's my timing but I have not waited less than 5 minutes for my coffee or pastries here. I went with my daughter once and waited a whopping 20 minutes for 2 drinks and 1 pastry. The place had some business but there were 2 employees working behind the counter and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why it took so long. I haven't tried it again since then. Perhaps one day I will go back because with all the good reviews I feel like I'm missing something but to me my experiences have never been one to recommend this place. read more

Normally, my sandwiches are made with all ingredients on the menu. I recently purchased a tuna melt sandwich which is supposed to come with "roma" tomatoes. I got regular tomatoes. It's supposed to come with red onions. .. no onions. And keep this in mind, if you don't see the sign that says you get a free bag of chips with a sandwich purchase, the employees will not necessarily tell you that you get a free bag of chips. I got my order to go so I'm inclined to think that they could make my order and that I would not notice that I was not SOLD what I ordered. And the icing on the cake was that it was the manger/owner that made my order. I'll be going to either jersey mikes or subway in the future if I'm in the mood for a tuna sandwich. Butlers Coffee is a community coffee spot where I study, meet up with friends, and drop in for lunch. The menu is limited and freshly made; the coffee (cafe au lait) is exactly how I want it, and staff is cheerful. And their entertainment is local, the art that hangs in the shop is good enough to buy (I have) and all artists are local. read more

The breakfast was really bad. I had a Canadian bacon sandwich and it was just all bad. It was all cold and the bread was super soggy. It was gross. Although their coffee was pretty good, the breakfast lacked. I also did not like the service. It took a very long time and the workers seemed like they did not want to be there. Wow, is this place over priced! My husband and I went there for dinner, I realize this isn't really a dinner place, they have sandwiches. We both ordered sandwiches and I also wanted a water, the guy says "What kind?" I said a cup would be okay, he said "You mean tap water?" I said that would be okay. When he gave me my water he said "Here is your tap water with ice." We just found it rude. When they brought our sandwiches out, they were on white bread a few slices of meat, a little mayo and mustard and one slice of tomato, all for $5.75 we could have had a better sandwich at Subway! read more

I absolutely adore this place! They have the best coffee in town, the owners and employees are so nice; how often do baristas remember your name, usual drink order and that you like extra caramel? Best espresso in the Antelope Valley. Espresso with the right notes, fresh beans that are not over roasted, and they adjust the grind if you are having a straight espresso instead of a sweet drink. I thought I would write a review for this lovely gem in the AV. I started going here in 2010 and have just been more and more impressed with the coffee, food, snacks and service. I have never had a problem in the 5 years I have been coming here. It's too bad they can't knock down a wall and expand this place. There have been A LOT of other coffee places that I have been to that do not know how to make coffee. Starbucks seems to broil their water or something;doesn't taste right. Other places are too bland or too sweet. I have never had that experience at Butler's. The Saturday evening entertainment is always a good time. They have Celtic sessions there sometimes and i love that! They do ask you to sit while they bring you your order...who doesn't like that? You gotta be crazy! It is an independently owned establishment so, in other words, if you don't want attitude then don't bring yours through the door. I know the owners and I'm personally glad they don't put up with rude people. Good for you guys! I hope Butler's is always there. read more

The coffee is just coffee (to me) but the food is amazing! I've now eaten there for both breakfast and lunch several times and I've never been disappointed. I love this place. It's not like most coffee shops. It's more personal. The owner operators are very friendly. The food is really good and different. Yes they use a microwave but so do I. There are many regulars that make u feel at home. The employees always try to get your order just right and are very accommodating. The review by Tim is a joke. I walked in and stood at the front of the counter for a whole 5 minutes before I was even acknowledged. I got an iced coffee and it was decent. Apparently they charge extra for caramel syrup which is disappointing. The environment is very nice and there is plenty of seating. The bathroom was very clean. The prices are pretty high compared to other coffee shops in the AV. I will probably give them another try, but my first experience here was lackluster. read more
