The opera house itself was very pretty with interesting architecture lines. The opera was really good. Beautiful singing voices, great acting, interesting props & scenery and gorgeous costumes. Last but not least were the wonderful musicians in the orchestra. Most patrons dressed up, some were very dressy & wore tuxes & cocktail dresses. The staff were super friendly & helpful as well. Fancy Footwork was a series of short 2-5 minute dances that were a combination of classic and modern dance. In short- we LOVED it! I love not knowing what is coming next. The modern dance which typically I am less a fan of then the classics was jaw droopingly gorgeous and creative. The studio on Santa Fe is also small and intimate and the audience sat in a bleacher style set up that made for a really special night.

The seats are comfy and each seat has a cup holder. The bathrooms were somewhat clean. The lines were long for both restrooms and drinks. A major pro was the parking lot was close by.

It was very disappointing that there was a lack of anointing, lack of explanation of the gospel, lack of evangelizing throughout, and the comedy took it a little too far. Though the warfare today is great, there was no explanation about it, and there should've been some demonstration of the power of the gospel over Satan and his demons. I regret that I spent almost $500 on five tickets, two of which was for a granddaughter who's struggling and her boyfriend.

I would say the musical leans more toward a romantic comedy especially compared to the movie and you will definitely notice the differences. That said I still think The Notebook musical is great. I really enjoyed it and it absolutely still has those tearjerker moments. The cast was awesome and everyone sang so beautifully. The performances felt genuine and emotional and the atmosphere in the theater really helped pull everything together. Customer Service Customer service was amazing. Everyone was super friendly helpful and accommodating from the moment we arrived. As soon as I checked in they noticed I was a lottery ticket winner and congratulated me which was really sweet and unexpected. I did not need that but it was still a very thoughtful touch. Staff showed us where to go and once we got closer to our seating area another staff member walked us directly to our seats. Overall everyone was welcoming and made the experience feel smooth and stress free. Pricing & Parking I got my tickets through Lucky Seats. Which is a lottery-style system for discounted tickets. We won two tickets for a total of $78 and our seats were very close to the stage with a great view. Discounted tickets made the experience even better. Parking at DCPA was $17, and they only accept card payments. Parking was convenient, with several nearby options, and it did not feel overwhelming getting in or out. Food & Drinks For food and drinks I paid twenty two dollars total not including tip. I got one Sprite one bottled Sprite one bottle of Coca Cola and a pack of gummy bears. I understand it is for a great cause and supports DCPA but it is a bit pricey. If you need to sneak in your own snacks do what you gotta do. Overall Experience My overall experience was honestly perfect. The performance was amazing the seats were great and the entire night was so much fun. I would absolutely go back again and highly recommend checking out DCPA and one of their shows.

Dinner was at the new Don Juan's Cucina Mexican restaurant. Loads of food and a special Tequila. On our way to the suite my walker needed adjustment and Tim, custodian, came to the rescue. All in all everything from arrival to 980 Prime, Saturday, was beyond high quality. W. Field, marketing and W. Vinson, personal host made my 90th birthday the very best.

My friend and I ended up in Cripple Creek after a hailstorm cut our camping trip short. We had my 10-pound, 10-year-old dog, Cosmo, with us, so I specifically booked a pet-friendly room at Chamonix. Everything was going well at first. Becki in valet was absolutely wonderful - friendly, helpful, and by far the highlight of our experience. At the front desk, I checked in, provided my ID, and they ran my credit card. As the employee was about to hand me my room keys, he casually asked if I had any pets. When I said yes and pointed to Cosmo, who was standing with our luggage, he replied, "Okay, that'll be a $200 charge." A $200 nonrefundable pet fee for one small, well-behaved dog staying one night is outrageous - especially when it exceeded the cost of the room itself. Most higher-rated, true luxury hotels, like The Broadmoor, charge $50-$100, or they place a refundable deposit for potential damages. Waiting until after my card had already been charged to disclose this fee felt like an intentionally shady business practice. When I told them I couldn't justify paying an additional $200 and asked to cancel the reservation, I was initially told they don't allow same-day cancellations. The manager eventually agreed to waive the cancellation fee, but despite my request, never came out to speak with me directly. One additional disappointment: while waiting in line, a second front desk manager who had been assisting other guests stopped acknowledging me when I got to the front of line. I have severe POTS, which makes standing for extended periods difficult, and that made an already stressful situation even harder. It's unfortunate because I had been looking forward to seeing the property, having dinner at one of the restaurants, and spending a few hours gambling in the casino. Instead, we left and found somewhere else to stay. If the pet fee had been clearly disclosed during booking, I simply would have chosen another hotel. Transparency upfront would have avoided this entire experience, despite the fact that $200 is still an outrageous charge for a pet.

This museum used to be a working train station and as such has some very interesting stories and artifacts. It's like stepping in time 150 years and seeing how people once lived and conducted themselves. I could damn near feel the ghosts in this city and this museum. The price was extremely reasonable and worth every cent. There several floors to explore and I left was a better understanding of the lives of my great great grand parents. If you find yourself in Cripple Creek, I highly recommend visiting this museum.

I know you get tired or hearing me speak of restrooms in my reviews, but travelers find this an important issue!

It doesn't look like much outside, for sure, but we were pleasantly surprised once we went in. Decent amount of free parking in the lot and on the street too. There was a woman at the door checking off names, so we never actually needed our tickets. The seating area can be set up with tables and chairs, with dance floor in between, as it was on this night, and permanent stadium seating up above. We correctly went with the stadium seating and were immediately rewarded with comfortable, bucket seats. Venue is small enough, and acoustics were great. Rush Archives put on a really good show in what seemed like an intimate venue. Concessions are much cheaper than you'd expect, which was another pleasant surprise. Water for $2.50 and soft drinks for $3.50 definitely took us back many years too. We won't hesitate to come back next time another band is playing we want to see.

The buffet was ready so we sampled a little of everything. The Tri Tip caprese was very good. Meat tender served with mozzarella balls and tomatoes were juicy. The gnocchi was pretty great with a thick white cheese sauce and spinach. We also sampled the chicken sausage gumbo. The vegetable succotash was one of my favorites loaded with carrots, celery and beans. The salad was a spring mix with a lemon vinaigrette that definitely had a zippy tart flavor.
