Some friends and I met for breakfast at Buttercup Bistro and had a lovely meal. They serve breakfast and lunch daily, with specials Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It's not a large space and they don't take reservations on the weekends, so you may need to wait for a table. The parking lot is a bit of a maze and fills up quickly so be prepared to park at the church or the car wash and walk over. Our group had the avocado toast, eggs Benedict, eggs 2 ways, and buttercup blossom. Everything was delicious, well prepared, and not an overwhelming portion. Egg dishes are served with a choice of breakfast potatoes, hash brown, or fruit. The bistro was crowded and service was a bit slow, but not disruptively so. Cute independent cafe tucked off of Main Street in Trappe. Apparently it has been open for two years but I just noticed it. The sign is hard to see. This bistro was nicely decorated and had very friendly service. Enjoyed the quiche and popover. Need to come back to try the stuffed pancakes and crepes. Convenient parking lot makes it easy. Stopped in on a Friday and there were plenty of open seats. The waitress mentioned it gets very crowded on the weekends. read more

This is a nice cafe. The decor is nicely done. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was about halfway full with one server and she didn't skip a beat. This was a really nice Cafe/Bistro and was a great experience overall! -- The interior was extremely amazing which complimented the type of food they serve. It's small details like flower pots or small signs on the wall make the atmosphere feel really good especially on a rainy day, so when you walk in you're greeted by a really great interior that screams cafe. -- As we got seated immediately someone asked what we would like to drink and I got the "Iced Coffee" but I asked if I could get it with milk and a vanilla creamer and they where super nice about it, you can see my coffee in the images I left in this review, and it was perfect, just as I expected, it was cold, delicious and perfect for breakfast. When it came time to order, I decided to go with the "Breakfast Burrito" and a side of potatoes, which absolutely hit the spot for me, it was warm and perfectly plated. While the person with me got the "Buttercup Blossom" and a fruit bowl, which they stated was also really good. All I can say is that the food was amazing! And was definitely not boring or ordinary, of course it depends on the type of person you are. Now already for me this place is 4.5 stars but it gets 5 because of the incredible and nice service they offered. The waitress we had was super nice, and offered continued refills of coffee. Stopped in wanting eggs for breakfast. The menu was rather limited, especially for eggs, so it's not a place I'd return to for breakfast again. Opted for the breakfast burrito, which was basically scrambled eggs wrapped in a tortilla, with little cheese and a few diced tomatoes drizzled on top. Nothing that made it a burrito. There was a butternut squash soup special that sounded good, so though not a normal breakfast item, I opted for it anyway. Again, it was OK, but didn't knock my socks off. Seemed like thickener was used. The vibe and decor remind me of a college café. Seems like a cute place to have a cup of coffee, and I might return to try one of the salads that sounded good. I read over some other reviews describing the food as "amazing," and I'm not sure why anyone would describe it as that. But it is a cute place to have a cup of coffee and chitchat with a friend. We went for breakfast. We waited for 20 minutes without being acknowledged by any of the staff. After we were finally seated, we ordered a cappuccino and received what tasted like (and looked like) coffee with vanilla creamer- no foam at all. We ordered the breakfast sandwiches- supposed to be made with homemade biscuits. The biscuits were very undercooked. We were finally thanked for waiting after we paid our bill and were on the way out. It did look crowded so perhaps we visited on an off day. read more

This is a new restaurant that is a bit hidden in a location that used to be a fabrics/embroidery store. Family-owned with very friendly service. Menu options are fresh and made from scratch. Gave this new place a try for breakfast and while the food and service were very good, the menu is limited, which would prevent me from making this a regular stop for me, especially given that we have several other good breakfast choices in the area. The atmosphere inside was charming, and I was seated at a wobbling table next to the front window. I ended up having to put my glass of OJ on the window ledge as it kept sloshing around when I was cutting into my food. I started with the cinnamon roll and for my main, went with the French Toast with a side of bacon. All items were delicious and I liked the fact that my bacon was on the crisper side. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. This place is adorable and the food is delicious. I'm giving a 2 star review because I normally don't eat a big breakfast because my stomach gets upset easily. So I ordered the mini waffles (not knowing that there was an age restriction on food ) my waiter told me that I couldn't ordered the mini waffles because I was not 12 and I laughed because I thought she was joking and then she said I'm not joking the owner will not let you get the mini waffles because your not 12. So I felt embarrassed and I just ordered the big waffles stuffed and it cost me extra for all the toppings added and I didn't finsh it :(. I feel like people who don't eat a big breakfast should be able to order a smaller portion meal. I had never been to this cafe but am so happy to have found it. It is clean, bright, nicely decorated, excellent friendly service and delicious food. I ordered the grilled brie and fig jam sandwich which arrived with a refreshing salad including blue berries, grapes and feta. They were happy to change the lettuce for me from arugula to spring mix. My guest ordered the breakfast sandwich of eggs,bacon,cheese on a biscuit and came with home fries. He said it was fabulous and very filling. It was a little difficult to find because of the construction, and the signage could be larger and clearer. I recently had lunch at this new bistro. The atmosphere was so nice, clean and inviting. I was greeted right away and joined my party that was already sitting. The service was very attentive. I recently stopped into Buttercup Bistro on a Saturday around noon. I ordered the Western omelette, a side of Bacon, as well as the Breakfast Potato. All of my food was delicious, just as I had expected. The service was very on top of things, very courteous and did not approach me without a smile once.
