We sat down immediately, were attended to right away by friendly staff, and were never left wanting for anything. We even had our own small pitcher of coffee. I got the chicken breakfast tacos with potato pancakes (you have the choice of home fries, hash browns, or potato pancakes and trust me you want the potato pancakes). My girlfriend got the raisin bread French toast. Both were amazing and under $10. Oh, and the coffee is the best restaurant coffee I've had in a very, very long time. I was craving a BLT and decided to try out the sunshine cafe. I ordered a to go meal. When I walked in to pick up the meal the inside decor was so rustic. I felt right at home when I arrived. I waited a few minutes for my food. It was about $7 for a blt sandwich on rye. When I got to my car to check out my lunch, I was very disappointed. It was just a small sandwich. I wish I was able to choose something higher then a five star... I write this review with so much joy and happiness in my heart and truly hope that everyone has the experience my husband and I had at this amazing establishment I moved to the area in October of 2023 and my now husband and I went for brunch one Sunday morning. Right off that bat we felt at home. We felt like this was the spot that locals go, where you can feel a home away from home. It is cozy and has a true diner feel. We found ourselves continuing to come back every Sunday and soon it was a part of our Sunday routine. We also started getting to know the amazing people who worked at the cafe. The servers started recognizing us, the owner would come over and not only introduce himself but then started sitting down and chatting about how the sunshine cafe came to be and his background and all he does for the community. My words not his. He is one of the most humbling/hard working people I have ever met. And like I said this cafe that was meant to just be a place to get a bite to eat started to feel like home. When it came time for my husband and I to get married we thought having our wedding reception here was the perfect fit for us for so many reasons. So in terms of it being a great spot for Sunday brunch, prices are awesome and the food IS SO GOOD and extensive. But if you are also looking for a spot to host a party ( as a wedding planner I was blown away by so many things) this is also an amazing spot! Ken was very flexible in the food, walked us through everything, made it easy and they were very accommodating! We moved South after the wedding reception but before we left my husbands family threw us a going away party and we even picked up pans of our favorite potatoes for the party! While I grew up in that area all my life and will miss many things as my husband and I move, we both talked about the impact a simple cafe made in our lives and how much we were going to miss it. I was Limerick around lunchtime. The parking lot was crowded, which is a good sign in a new place. I took a seat at the counter. I looked at the other diners plates. Most were eating eggs. It's a all day breakfast place. I had breakfast. I looked at the menu's lunch options. I do not ferment remember anything unique or special, but they had a patty melt. For whatever reason restaurants sell burgers but not patty melts. The server said it's a popular item, and she recommended the 8 oz. over the 4 oz. It was excellent not greasy and came as I ordered it. My drink was water which she constantly refilled. After lunch I asked to go to the bathroom. The place itself isn't much to look at and tables are a little tight, but service is very friendly and food comes out quick. We've only ever been here for breakfast so can't comment on other meals. If you order coffee, they leave the pot with you, which is nice as I can refill my cup whenever I want. If you have kids with you, they have coloring books to keep your kids occupied, but sometimes you will find a lot of the pages already half colored. Hubby and I had breakfast here this morning. We parked right by the front door and found a seat right away. I ordered an omelet with Italian sausage, provolone cheese, garlic, and spinach. It came with home fries and toast. My husband ordered a Western Omelette with American cheese but without the peppers (who does that?) and a side of breakfast sausage. We both asked for our home fries cooked hard. This place makes omelettes by pouring eggs on the grill into a big square and then putting your filling in the middle and folding the whole thing up. I hate omelettes made like that, so, I asked my waitress if I could have my filling cooked inside of the eggs. I was thinking along the lines of a frittata. Instead I got eggs all chopped up with the sausage, cheese, and spinach. There was so much garlic that it wafted over to my husband sitting next to me. We were sitting at the counter. My breakfast tasted okay but I'm thinking they must use garlic powder because I have never before had food that smelled that much like garlic in my life! It tasted okay but it smelled and looked awful. The coffee was great. My husband did not like his eggs at all. I wasn't surprised. LOL. They forgot to give him his home fries. When he asked for them the chef had stepped away from the grill so the waitress took some fries off the pile on the grill and put them on his plate. Not only were they not "cooked hard" but they were cold. This was our second trip there. We returned because our first experience had been really great. I'm willing to give them one more try and be a bit more specific about how I want my eggs. I don't really like to judge a place on just 2 visits. I won't, however, order the same omelette. I was reeking of garlic when I came out of there. I had to chew cinnamon gum to get the taste out of my mouth. The pancakes looked great as did the waffles. Our check was around $26.00 which I think was typical for what we had. To be honest I think the food at GLodge, Nook and Kranny (only negative is you sometimes have to wait), and Tony's in Phoenixville as well as Pots and Penn Diner in Pottstown far surpass this place. If you REALLY want some good breakfast go to Hank's Place in Chadds Ford. Their mushroom frittata is spectacular. If you are counting your pennies you can't beat the prices at The Fisherman's on Route 23 in Phoenixville. The service is 'relaxed' and the coffee isn't that great (good thing it comes in really small cups that take forever to get refilled) BUT the food is really good and a great value for your money. There is always Nudy's. We go to the one in Phoenixville. It always has really great food but it's a bit pricey, frequently has a line, and doesn't have that dive feeling which we seem to be attracted to. Also the parking annoys me. The food at Mom's Place in Phoenixville is also good but the place is very noisy, small, they only take cash, and the parking can be dicey. You WILL get a ticket if you aren't parked properly! There is a nice place on Route 724 called Coventry Cafe which is also very nice. It's a little bit before 422 if you are traveling West on 724. It's on the right. They only take cash but they have an ATM machine in their lobby. read more

I have to say that not everything was bad as the salt, pepper, ketchup, iced tea and sausage were all fine but the rest of our breakfast was over cooked! My wife and I both had eggs over easy, home fries and toast. The eggs were NOT over easy and my wife used her knife to cut the crispy ends, the toast had way too much butter and I now know how they make powdered mashed potatoes. They send them here to get over cooked and dried out! I also had a side of pancakes and I never knew they were supposed to have a crispy crunch when you cut into them. You can't tell me their cooks don't know the grills way too hot! If not they don't belong behind the grill. Then to top it off our waitress didn't check in on our table but checked in on other tables that were obviously regular customers. Even when we checked out no one asked how our meal/service was so I guess we will no longer stop by for an occasional visit and go else where. read more

There was no problem especially with the efficiency of a very talented young man named Cole who made sure our party of five was seated in a timely man. This used to be our go to place but it has really gone down hill. All of the staff has turned over and the service is not good and very slow. We usually only do takeout now. But that isn't the worst of it. The food has really become not at all like it used to be. In fact, it is terrible! I ordered an omelet to go and when I got it home I thought I must have gotten the kiddy platter because it was so small. I ordered my favorite; Egg Benedict a few weeks ago and I thought I would need to have a hack saw to cut through the Canadian Bacon.
