Ms.Tina the director is so sweet and so very involved. My son missed almost a month of school due to a lot of things happening in our family and she personally reached out to make sure all was ok. My son who's attending his first year of preschool at south hills looks forward to going on his days. They do a great job sending pictures and letting you know how they did that day. Having 3 kids I have dabbled into different schools but we came back to south hills for many reasons. I know my child is safe, happy and thriving. It's a great preschool and I highly recommend.

This is a toxic environment with teachers that target kids by bullying them, singling them out and lying to parents. My children were victim of this, and kicked out by the "caring director", who is sly and misleading, for supposedly biting a classmate and wrestling during class. No video was given as support, no action while it supposedly happened, just "this happened, you're out!" I find it interesting 2 teachers in a class of 10 do not hear or see this happen, it just miraculously happened and good bye!! Our child was bullied and picked on by another teacher, and felt uncomfortable going to school. One of the teachers even decided she was a psychotherapist diagnosing our kids with disorders, that they do not have, as they are normal healthy children. Since leaving our children are thriving in school and have never had any "problems" since. I'm only writing this now, to warn others so another child isn't verbally abused!!

Even the principal has stated that she is powerless to implement any changes. Kids are correcting mistakes made by the teachers. The teachers give take home test (are you kidding me?) if homework is assigned then follow the normal process and state it in google classroom. They are kids and most probably will not remember what you told them verbally throughout the day. Detention is assigned for no reason. Due to a computer glitch, the teacher didn't get some of the kids homework that they have already completed.Guess what, detention. Future parents, please be cognizant of your kids time in this school and trust me take them to another school. You and your child will be much happier oh btw don't think for a second that you can speak out about the treatment your child is getting. Your kid will be punished (I promise) A few of these damn upper grade teachers are the worst.....Remember who pays your salary.

This school really likes to focus on "community". Which it is - from our PTA, parents, teachers, staff, and students this school is all about empowering all to know they can make a difference. With all schools - it takes a village - each and every one of us doing our part. I can't send my kids to school and expect them to learn everything they need to know if I am not willing to put in the work at home, enforce respect to self and others, and teach them standard kindness, responsibility and accountability. The more we put into our young community the more kids can grow and flourish. I pray all schools and students around to have a fun and safe school year as we, the families & community, back up our public schools with our help and support where possible.

Every teacher is great. I did a lot of research on preschools in the area and this preschool stood out. My son loves all of the teachers, not just his. They consistently communicate with parents. She also has a strong speech impediment, and as she got older, she started to notice the gap between herself and her classmates. It began to take a real toll on her confidence. As a mom, it was heartbreaking to watch. But everything changed this past school year, her final year in 5th grade, when we enrolled her in the ELOP after school program with Scholarly Minds. This program didn't just keep her busy after school. It challenged her with attainable goals, built her up, and helped her see herself in a new light. Slowly, a new Tiresa began to emerge, one who was proud of herself, confident in what she could do, and willing to try new things. She won multiple awards, grew more independent, and even told us herself that this was her best year ever at school. That moment brought tears to my eyes. To Ms. Melissa and the entire ELOP/Scholarly Minds team: THANK YOU. Thank you for seeing the greatness in my daughter when she couldn't see it herself. Thank you for cheering her on, literally and figuratively. At the graduation ceremony, I kept hearing loud applause and joyful shouting from behind me every time one of the ELOP students walked the stage. When I turned around, I realized it was Ms. Melissa's team, cheering as if every student were their own child. That moment said everything about who they are. Had to notify the school several times On regarded to my daughter being bullied. Nothing was done. Then it continued on the bus. I was to notify both school campus and transportation. I don't understand why my kids didn't sit with each other on the bus. The student that was picking on my daughter lied that he was a first grader and. Kept sitting next to her on the bus. They sit by age. Smaller in the front older in the back. So if that's the case her other brother that's the same age as her, why weren't they able to sit together. I didn't feel like this school did enough about the situation. The only on that kept in contact with me was my daughter teacher. The student that was picking with her was in my other son class in third grade. I can go on and on about how many things went wrong. That's not the only case. Someone of the teachers Favorite other kids and judge them right away as well as keeping them separate it I feel like some of them are really racist and kept in their old-school ways. As well as some of the teachers thing sarcastic things to the students not just to my kids but I hear it to other kids as well. And some of the staffing that watch the kids on their lunch hour are rude and maybe should just retire , already since they have no patients. Being a teacher and working at a school takes Patients, understanding and care for others. It's not just a pay check of another day. Matter affect, just another student. Everyone should matter regardless. I say save your time, stay away from the school. Not to mention some of the ghetto parents there as well. No respect or knowledge just pure ignorance.

I love the 1950s meets modern style of the site. It's also bringing back the two-story structures which are refreshing and very spacious. I love the gym and MPR, both were my hubs. The staff is pretty nice, I've had the pleasure of meeting many of them and they truly extend themselves for the students. At the end of the day, the school is plagued by policy issues but there's solid education happening here. The parking entrance is a hot mess and the divider in front of the school is totally annoying. However, if you're a resident of the neighboring communities surrounding the school, this may be convenient for you and your child!
