My husband and I visited this store, looking for a few things since we are expecting a baby in October. He was immediately turned off by the pushy staff that met us at the door, and handed us things to purchase. The staff continued to try and push me to go downstairs and try maternity clothes. I continued to politely decline, but the staff insisted I go look. My husband and I ended up putting all the clothes back that we picked out. We felt uncomfortable and left empty handed. We chose to visit a different kids consignment shop in the area and had a much better experience. This store does have a great selection, but some of the items are not in the best conditions. read more

This store was a great find and I will definitely be a return shopper! If you are an expecting parent, already a parent, a grandparent, aunt, uncle or a great friend of a parent, this is the store for you! This children's consignment shop has items at all price points and in sizes newborn through preteen. If you are on a budget and want gently used items that are in great shape, this is your place. Don't think tattered garage-sale items, think items that still look new but are used. The clothing is beautifully arranged and finding the size you need is a breeze. In addition to clothing, there are hats, shoes, blankets and more. I love supporting locally-owned businesses , and I also believe that not everything needs to be brand new. Buying gently used clothing helps to save our environment and I am willing to do my part! The store is located on Chenoweth Lane in St. Matthews. When you enter the front door, the children's shop is up the stairs. The main floor is another store (I saw wonderful things there that I want to go back and check out too!). First timers - We walked in right before closing on a long weekend we managed to purchase two pieces. We went back and found so many more gems. Workout gear, swim suits, polo shirts for my son & cute trinkets. You've gained new customers until we are sized out. Can't wait to come back. We spotted this $78 Oscar De La Renta girls blue/white striped dress, couldn't convince my daughter but go buy it before it's gone. read more

My wife and I were searching for items for the new grandbaby-to-be and happened upon this consignment store in the St. Matthews area of Louisville. This place is immaculate and has baby clothes (infant-toddler-3 yr old) and other msc. items in every price range. We spent a fair amount of time on the second floor perusing all the sale shelves. Many of these items still had the original tags on them. Before you buy retail, you need to check this place out and also support local, small businesses. read more

Super nice owner and I got such a great deal on some baby clothes before they move to their new location

I was in need of a baptism outfit for my large seven month old son and everything I saw was $50+ (even at Kohl's)! I love Jesus, but I think it is a sin to spend that much on an outfit for a baby to wear for an hour and a half! So I set out on a mission to find something for my boy that was reasonably priced and cute. I called Slugger Kids and they sent me some cute pictures of outfits they had but, alas, my baby is huge and would not fit in the little clothes. I had been wanting to go to Buttons Bows and Britches for a while, so I called them. The owner, Christy, answered my call and when I inquired about boys baptism outfits she told me they had a Dior that would probably fit him. I asked her to hold it for me and my mom, hefty baby and I all went to check it out. We were greeted by two Maltese furbabies. I love dogs and shops that have dogs, so I was thrilled to see them. I asked the girl who was at the register about the baptism outfit and she had it right behind the counter. It was precious. Divine even. I knew it had to be mine (I mean baby chunkalunk). And the price was downright holy, $28 (if you spent $25 or more then you got $5 your purchase, so it was really only $23)!!! Now onto the store, it is tucked into two shotgun houses that have been connected right on Cannons Lane in St. Matthews. It has so much merchandise. For babies all the way to teenagers. They have shoes, swaddles, jammies, clothes, blankets, hats, bows, etc. The store is very organized and broken down by gender and size. The boys selection is not as good as the girl, but that's just how it goes for boy moms. They have some great brand name clothes for absolutely wonderful prices! They also had toys and some decor items. We loved talking to the girl who was working (the owners daughter). She was able to point us in the right direction for where to find the right sizes for the baby and his big brother. We ended up spending $50 for a baptism outfit (Dior!), five pairs of pants and a sherpa pullover for my giant baby! Hallelujah! We will be back. I love Buttons Britches and Bows. I can't believe that I never realized there are no pictures on their Yelp listing! I'll take some and post this week. This store is under new ownership as of spring 2017, and the new owner has done an AMAZING job. I loved it before because there were always great deals, but you had to sift through a LOT, and though it was really organized it didn't feel like a high end shop. NOW though, it is really clean, very organized, and you don't have to sift through to find great pieces. You'll pay a little more than before, but its SO worth it. They have a ton of Matilda Jane and Lily Pulitzer, as well as other name brands like Janie and Jack, Gap, Gymboree, etc. Tons of kids shoes, and toys. It's really incredible what the new owner has done. I would highly recommend stopping by to see for yourself! read more

I went there to sell some high end baby girl clothing I had. Although I didn't know they only reviewed clothing by appointment, the owner was able to squeeze me in, for that was very nice of her. She took the garments through the back door and said she would bring whatever she couldn't take back to me. When I received the bag back she told me she couldn't take much of the things that were in there and could only offer me 20$. I asked her what she took out of the bag and she avoided answering the question. Being in a hurry I didn't think to evaluate what was in the bag because it seemed about half full. When I left I put the bag in my car and didn't open it for a few days. When I did open it I realized she stuffed a bunch of cheap clothes in there to fill it up and she took all of the dresses and winter clothes. That's extremely dishearting to know that an owner who makes a living off of supplying for such a delicate market such as small children, would practice such bad ethics in her business.
