This was a fantastic meal! Two of us in our group ordered brisket potatoes, two ordered burnt end brisket plates and I ordered the brisket plate. Everything we ate was excellent from the meats to the beans, corn, potato salad, and fried okra. We were just passing through from Texas but would DEFINITELY stop here anytime! We ran across this place by accident --- there are hardly no restaurants up and down I-49 from KC to Joplin -- except fast food. Buzz's is definitely worth the stop - they have a wide variety... Not just barbecue. Cole slaw is a vinegar base. Beans are good. I had pulled pork sandwich- definitely needed more sauce but there was plenty on the table. Experience is half the point of going out and when you walk into a restraunt and the wait staff argue over who has to take your table because you have multiple children that alone will repulse you. However we did have a younger gentleman who jumped in and said he would take us awesome job skill for all the other wait staff as a past waitress the food is usually really good I would recommend the Betty Baked potato with pulled pork. On the upside they do take call in orders to make your life easier and to avoid the rudeness of some of there wait staff. read more

The food is great most of the time but not a kid friendly place the staff acts like kids are the end to there day then the wait time to receive your food is ridiculous, the last time we went we waited 30min and finally just left with our food to go. read more

We each ordered the burnt ends (beef) in the small serving (9.99). When they arrived they were cut to the size of sugar cubes, tough, hard and overcooked. They were already cooked in bbq sauce and then room temp. sauce squirted on top. I felt they were left under a heat lamp for along time them slightly zapped in a microwave for 30 secs. This is the second time we've eaten here (giving them the benefit of a previous off day) and both times they were over priced and the food lukewarm and inedible. We ate a few bites and took the rest home to our dogs. If you want bbq this is not the place to go. read more

Betty's Baked Potato is the featured item. We have been ordering them for years since they were $6.99, but now they are pretty outrageously priced at $9.99--unless you want them with brisket, that's an EXTRA $1 (something really not that clear in the menu). They didn't use to charge extra for brisket, but they have been since they changed to a different, less-tender brisket than they used to serve. Stay away from their deserts. read more

The burnt ends were just Ok. More like brisket pieces cut and extra cooked. I would not order the Pork brisket again. Ham burnt ends were better than the pork burnt ends but still just ham pieces cut and extra cooked. Find something else on the menu to order. Service was good, prompt, courteous and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised by Buzz's BBQ. The service was exceptionally good. I was there when they were not busy but that was the best service I have experienced in quite some time. I ordered the Betty Loaded Baked Potato with brisket and it was really good. I would have liked it better if the cheese was more "melty" and if they offered a hot or spicy barbecue sauce. But their sauce was still good enough that I kept adding more. If you go at one of their busier times you will have to wait, but now I see why. This was really good for a small town. We travel to Nevada every other Saturday and occasionally dine in a local establishment. we asked for a recommendation and Buzz's was on the list. It was near noon , not our choice of time, but what circumstances dictated. The place was not overly crowded and we were seated right away. The waitress took our drink orders and immediately returned and asked if we were ready to order. Having never been there, we needed a few more minutes. There was l large function in a back/side room and it was a while before we saw our waitress again. After we ordered, there were multiple tables seated that recieved food before us. Our orders may have coincided with those of the large group and caused our wait. The atmosphere was pleasant and we were in no hurry, so this was not a problem. We ordered a sandwiches off the menu and I had French Onion Soup off of the special. When the soup arrived, it was a plain bowl of soup and three packets of crackers. When asked how the meal was, I mentioned my disappointment to the waitress about the soup and she replied "That is what we call French Onion Soup". Since it is a BBQ restaurant, we should have ordered BBQ. We may return and try again sometime, but the next time I see French Onion Soup on a menu, I will ask the staff to clearly define what they think it is. read more
