Laser Hair Removal Experience - Disappointed and Let Down…read more I'm writing this review to share my factual, lived experience with Laura so others can make informed decisions. I was a loyal, trusting client who purchased a full body laser hair removal package that included 8 sessions and one additional if needed. Despite this, I was only provided with 8 total sessions -- yet she falsely claim I received "10+." I have detailed records and time-stamped screenshots that prove otherwise. My first session -- done with single pulse mode -- was the only one that produced significant results. When I asked to continue with that mode, Laura (the tech) refused, saying "it takes too long." She used glide mode for the remaining 7 sessions without my consent. Treatments were rushed, poorly done (missing many areas), and produced minimal results. She later admitted in writing that I had made the request for single pulse mode and that she dismissed it. Instead of respecting my preference and safety, she increased the laser's intensity on a mode I didn't consent to -- putting my skin at higher risk for burns or irritation. At one point, Laura seemed open to fixing things. She said, "I truly want to make this right, earn your trust back, and get you results safely and comfortably," and "I never want you to feel taken advantage of or dismissed." But that follow-through never came. Now, both she and the owner of Lovella, Ella, have become cold and uncooperative -- refusing to take accountability or offer a fair solution. When I spoke up, they changed their narrative. They now claim I "rescheduled too often," despite me following the proper 4-8 week timeline between sessions. The 9th session -- part of my original package -- was never delivered, due to their delays. I followed all pre- and post-care instructions exactly. Ella, despite being the business owner of Lovella, who accepted my $2,000 payment, has tried to frame the issue as "between you and Laura." That's unacceptable. The business is hers, and the technician (Laura) worked under her name. I also raised concerns about burns and irritation, which were dismissed without even examining the affected areas. They've since tried to blame me with false claims about doing "home skin treatments," which I absolutely did not do. If they're referring to over-the-counter skincare, none were used near appointments - and certainly not in a way that would invalidate professional results or cause burns. To top it off, Ella ended her message with a veiled threat: "If you choose to leave a negative review based on inaccurate claims, that is to your discretion." Let me be clear: every claim I've made is backed by dated screenshots and written communication. I was denied services I paid for, gaslit, and treated dismissively when I voiced concerns. I asked for a fair partial refund or additional sessions done correctly by someone qualified -- and they refused. Their most recent response was not only dismissive, but full of contradictions. They told me not to contact them by phone (only by email), yet Ella previously asked to have a phone call about this issue. Plus I have never called them about this... Laura now claims she no longer works at Lovella, even though Ella had just told me she works part-time. Which is it? Worst of all, they continue to ignore my documented concerns about burns and ineffective treatment. This entire experience has been frustrating and deeply unfair. I'm not sharing this out of malice, but to protect others from going through what I did. Even now, they are trying to intimidate me into silence. I no longer trust Laura with something as vulnerable as my body, and I encourage anyone considering treatment there to proceed with caution. Final Note: I've stayed respectful throughout and was open to a fair resolution, but they dismissed my concerns and refused to engage further. The place was really clean and classy. Very comfortable seating! When the esthetician came, she introduced herself and asked for a couple more minutes to sanitize the area before bringing me up. I felt very informed and appreciated that they were taking into consideration of my time. The room was located upstairs which was kinda cool, but I felt it could have been a bit better. Looked dated but other than that, Stephanie was great! She was super friendly and made you feel comfortable. Really wanted to hear your opinion on the work she had done. Very quick and gentle. However, I left the place traumatized. I booked a Brazilian. I dont go waxing often only doing it for vacation so it wasn't the first time in my life having waxing appointment. I personally feel the aesthetician isn't sensitive about the customer's(my) need at all. A few things I found uncomfortable. I've never experienced anything like this with other aesthetician. 1.She didn't start my treatment with any communication and didn't confirm what type of Brazilian I wanted. She asked me when was my last time going to a waxing appointment. I told her my last vacation. She told me right away you will be hurting so much because I don't do it regularly. Well, yeah, I know it will hurt.but to start out a treatment with statement like this isn't helping your customer. 2. She asked me to take off my pants. I thought the standard is the aesthetician would give the client a towel and would leave the room and then come back shortly. At least this was what I experienced with other aestheticians before. She just stood there staring at me taking my pants off. This was so strange , she just stood there staring at me. While I was doing so, she made a few rude comments directely to me. Maybe she was older and from a different culture but I felt very uncomfortable. I understand she would see everything eventually but staring at customer taking off her pants in a nice spa? I just never expected this. 3. The aestheticians I experienced before were all sweet and caring. They made sure I felt comfortable especially when it hurt. When I told the aesthetician at this place i was in pain and give me a few seconds for the pain to go away, she started to say " its not my fault , do you know how many times I've done this." "Have you had babies?" If I know how to do it by myself, I would've done it by myself. 2nd, no other aestheticians ever said that to me and made me feel awful that I feel the pain. 3rd, I wasn't there to interview you for the job so I don't care how many times you've done this, especially when I was in pain. What a customer need was some comfort talk and empathy at that moment. I was so traumatized that I actually got up half way and told her to stop the entire treatment. I've never done something like that before. Unfortunately, my experience at this place ended miserably. It seemed like a nice place and I still ended up paying for everything, I didn't just walk out. I would caution anyone who wants a place where you feel welcome and comfortable for waxing. This is NOT the place for you. Wish I could give it zero stars. Even though I paid, I got zero apologies, no comments about how they were sorry I left in the middle of the treatment etc... They could care less. After a week, they replied on my Google review, calling me preposterous and even said I was a racist. The owner's reply showed me clearly where the insensitivity for customer coming from. They even revealed my personal private details of my body on google review. No apologies or phone call directly from the management. Save yourself trouble. Beware of this place. One day, I decided to try Dawson Manor Spa since it was so closely located to my home. I'm proud to tell you that I'm a regular patron and I absolutely love it! I have not had any bad service or missed appts, ever. The one and only time that I missed my scheduled appt, the staff were kind enough to reschedule me and didn't penalize me for missing it. I usually have my regular eyebrow waxing done but I've also had massages (both relaxation and RMT), manicures, pedicures and back treatments. All of the staff and the owners are just amazing - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful every time! Their prices may be a touch higher than other day spas but still very competitive/in keeping with other services and worth every penny.
