Anyways, the staff is always polite and friendly overall. Due to her mobility issues with a wheelchair getting into certain rooms or trying to get her to take the proper eye tests, sometimes can take longer to get her in there or for a room to accommodate her. Also, with how busy the office gets, wait time can be a huge issue. There have been times where we been in and out within 30 mins, other times when it's busy we have been there taking tests, getting her eyes dilated and so on for up to 3 hrs.

I wasn't sure what to expect, especially since I was able to get a same-day appointment (which made me wonder if that was a good or bad sign!), but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and responsive -- I appreciated that they followed up with a text after my missed call to help me schedule the appointment. Dr. Miller was extremely thorough with my eye exam and had a great sense of humor, which made the visit comfortable and easy. The assistant was so sweet and took her time helping me choose a new pair of glasses, which I really appreciated. I followed up with him every 4-6 months in San Ramon office. I give him a 5-star for his care, friendliness and expertise. A zero star for the front desk and scheduler staff. Awful customer service. It was so difficult to get an appointment as a new patient at that time but I patiently waited because of Dr. Severin's reputation. If it's not because of Dr. Severin I won't choose this office. The receptionist and schedulers were racist and very rude. They were full of attitudes and not helpful at all. There were always at least 3-4 staff sitting at the front desk/schedule desk but they never pick up the phone! Try calling them if you don't believe me. Last year, an elderly receptionist bluntly lied and told me Dr. Severin was not in the office and they assigned me another doctor without any notification/heads-up. While sitting in the waiting room I heard Dr. Severin's voice and asked the assistant about it. She told me yes, that was him. I was very upset to be told lies!! The assistant was very nice and apologized. I told her I needed to know the reason why I was told a lie. Very unprofessional! She said an office manager wasn't there and asked me if I wanted a follow-up. I said yes and NOBODY ever called back!! Obviously they didn't give a shit of my concern! My last visit this week, after finishing up seeing Dr. Severin one of the girls (short hair, young) rolled her eyes when I asked "when is the latest time to schedule a follow up appointment?" She looked so annoyed and unbothered with my very simple question. That kind of attitude was not tolerable! I didn't see her treated Caucasian patients like that. Then they called me back and set up appointment for Friday morning, then they called to say, no, it was a mistake and they were looking at Thursday schedule and they only have PM appointment. I went there and after waiting around for a while it turned out my name was not entered in the system to let them know I was there. I was kept waiting for 45 minutes for pupil dilation and my appointment took at least one hour 15 minutes. I hope they improve the front desk and scheduling.
