History

Established in 1972.

In 1972 Bennie Byler began selling sheds as Byler's Storage Buildings in Stuarts Draft, Virginia. In '72 there were no other shed manufacturers in the state of Virginia, and the only backyard storage alternative were little tin sheds available from Sears and Montgomery Ward. As a home builder, Bennie Byler realized the need for quality sheds, and began testing the market with some sheds that he bought from a manufacturer in Indiana. He set a few sheds beside the road in front of his house, and eventually began building them himself in a friend's chicken house. The staple product was the "little red barn" storage shed, which is so much a part of our company history that we have incorporated this icon into our logo. In 1996, Bennie took his son Steve into the business as a partner, and the company became Byler's Storage Buildings, Inc. In the fall of 2009, company founder Bennie Byler retired from his position as President of the company. His son Steve is now CEO of the company.

Steve took over ownership of Byler Barns and Backyards in 2012. He continues in the tradition of his father, Bennie, who was passionate about building a high quality shed, and making sure that clients were treated like family. Steve continues to guide the company toward top-quality products and service.
