Our kids hired this planner, and from the very beginning there were warning signs-but the scope of the issues that unfolded went far beyond anything we could have anticipated. From not remembering meeting the groom after a one-hour introductory call, to ongoing disorganization, to inconsistent and frequently changing pricing, the experience was stressful throughout. We were quoted inflated costs for items such as generators-significantly higher than what we were able to negotiate ourselves-and were directed to vendors whose pricing was nearly ten times higher than identical products available on Etsy. Despite being repeatedly reassured that all details were handled, several critical failures occurred on the wedding day. The string quartet never arrived because 36th Street Events sent their information to an outdated email address. Instead of notifying the bride, groom, or any parents about the mistake, recorded music was played without explanation. Requested site visits never happened, staffing was not confirmed, and as a result dinner was delayed by 60-90 minutes, guests had no water available, and the wrong song was played for the father-daughter dance. These operational missteps were extremely disappointing. However, the most troubling aspect was the unprofessional and at times blatantly rude behavior displayed by Ren toward parents, guests, and even the priest officiating the ceremony. Multiple guests approached us asking why the wedding coordinator was so dismissive and why, as family members scrambled to help guests during a sudden rain, she stood by and watched. Prior to the bride and groom entering the reception, Ren told the groom he should button his jacket so he "didn't look fat." All of the above are just a few examples of the disappointment. For an event as meaningful as a wedding, professionalism, organization, and care matter enormously--and sadly, these were consistently lacking. After our bad experience, I did see another similar review for Ren on this platform.

I did diligent research and talked to multiple business owners about my event, received various quotes and I. The whole picking process Gourmet Gals were a front runner. I was very happy that they were able to offer catering services as well as bartending services. I did not have to deal with 2 different companies. I was impressed with their professionalism, quick response time, thorough follow up, and putting together a menu that was exactly what I asked for. Sherri was a pleasure to work with and she responded super quickly to all requests, including a slight budget change. The food was delicious. Exec. Chef Mark prepared food on site and it was the most fresh, tasty beautifully presented. Passed Hors d'oeuvre Chicken Diablos had a little kick to them, as the bacon wrapped chicken had some pickled jalapeños. Parmesan Stuffed Mushrooms were particularly tasty for me, with flavors singing and dancing together. Beef on sliders was very high grade, and had even two slices per each slider. Grilled veggies were a hit, and Feta and Garlic dip was very popular as well. Petite sweets and berries with fresh whipped cream topped the party. We had 4 people on site from Gourmet Gals: Mark the chef who did an amazing job, Rebecca the manager to make sure everything goes smoothly, Vivian who passed around food and made sure food was presented and replenished, and our bartender who made sure everybody had a drink in their hands. Our guests seemed to love the food and when the event was over, we found that she had made two additional plates of food just for us, and then placed all of the leftovers in a nice neat container for guests to enjoy the next day. Thankfully, that's where Mandy came in. Modern Whimsy is amazing. There are not words sufficient enough to describe how incredible Mandy and her team were. From the very beginning Mandy was attentive and helpful far beyond what I expected from a coordinator, let alone one that we were getting at a discount for a prize we won and for just day of coordination. She went FAR above and beyond what I think any one person would do and she was instantly a friend in the end. The details she stayed on top of were just incredible and perfect. Letting go of the reins for this OCD person was difficult, but I couldn't have asked for someone better to trust with my vision and allow to orchestrate the wedding of my dreams. First off, Mandy's experience means she thinks of all the small details you might forget. In the weeks leading up to our event, she came to us with small questions that had a big impact. She also did all the background work to organize details like flower delivery, scheduling conflicts and floor plans for the caterer. She was also able to help with a few etiquette questions that we had - always a plus. For the rehearsal, that attention to detail had her even pointing out small details like moving a microphone so people could see us kiss. She came to the hotel to drop off and pick things up in advance. She made herself available during the process via email, phone and text - all the ways we like to communicate! During the entire process Mandy was upbeat, helpful and made us feel like our event was as special to her as it was to us. Fees were also right in line with what I expected - excellent value for money. Now, we just need to find another event that she can help us to plan! Would love to work with her again.

It is absolutely GORGEOUS and I love how the staircase in the backyard is part of the aisle that the bride makes her entrance from. So unique! Also, because the venue has the reception hall upstairs, it has an outdoor balcony where our photographer was able to capture one giant group photo with us and all of our guests. Also unique as not many other venues have the capability to do this. Their all-inclusive route was 10000% the best way to go! We paid a per-person price and it included the catering, the tables & chairs, all of the cutlery/plates/linen napkins/chargers, the table cloths, the table decor (excluding floral), additional venue decor, and the setup AND clean up of EVERYTHING. We opted to pay a little extra to have Marlana as our day-of coordinator, but she was in constant communication with us from the very beginning. All of this seriously made our experience such a breeze and we are so grateful! Hunter, the venue owner, is so sweet and very accommodating! Every time we brought up a concern with her, she was quick to make adjustments and solve any problems that came our way. We are beyond grateful for her support and flexibility!!! Marlana, our coordinator, went above and beyond!! She recommended a local, inexpensive DJ who we ended up booking - we had an incredible experience with Milo! She was so knowledgeable and helpful when it came to me sourcing additional decor items I needed, such as fake flowers since I'm allergic to real ones. She also was EXTREMELY knowledgeable when guiding us through the wedding ceremony, the timeline for the entire day and even got in touch with all of our vendors to ensure that they knew when they needed to arrive. The Terrace Club was my wedding venue for my January 4, 2026 wedding. Now that I finally received…read moresome items I had left there, I can write my review. I'm giving this venue 2 stars, and to be clear, that rating is entirely due to the coordination services I paid extra for--not the venue itself. The property is genuinely beautiful. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces made for a stunning wedding backdrop, and everything was well-kept. Hunter, the owner, was also a pleasure to work with--professional, kind, and clearly invested in the venue. The base package we booked (which did not include coordination) was a good value for what was provided. Unfortunately, the $2,000 I spent on the 90-day coordination service was, without exaggeration, the worst money I spent on my entire wedding. We were told this was a 90-day coordination package, but aside from the standard décor meeting that is already included for all couples, there were essentially no services provided until about six weeks before the wedding. This was incredibly misleading and not what was promised. Our coordinator, Marlana, was consistently unprepared for meetings--repeatedly asking questions I had already answered and pushing back on details that were important to me. The timeline she created completely ignored my priorities, leaving only 45 minutes for dancing despite me clearly stating that was my number one focus. I ultimately had to create and manage the timeline myself, which defeats the entire purpose of paying for coordination. On the wedding day, the lack of professionalism and organization became impossible to ignore. I was directing vendors and answering questions during my own photos. Even my photographer had to come to me multiple times because they were given an incorrect timeline. Marlana was nowhere to be found during key moments like getting ready and photos--times when a coordinator should be most present. Basic service elements were also neglected. The soda bar was unmanned for most of the night, the champagne tower was never distributed to guests, and water stations were repeatedly empty. These are fundamental responsibilities that should not require constant oversight from the bride or her family. The dance floor moved like it was going to break the whole night. The comments about the lay out being excluding are also accurate but we knew it may be that way when we signed. To make matters worse, I was never informed that tours would be taking place on my wedding day. While I was getting ready with my bridesmaids, a group of strangers nearly walked into the bridal suite because the door was unlocked. My mother had to stop them and tell them it was not an entrance. This was a major breach of privacy and completely unacceptable. The most disturbing moment, however, was when my mother went to find Marlana to address ongoing issues. During that interaction, Marlana put her hands on my mother and told her to "calm down." That is completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and unacceptable behavior in any setting--especially at a wedding where emotions are already high. There is no excuse for putting hands on a guest, let alone the bride's mother. To make matters even more disappointing, my mom ended up doing much of what a coordinator should have been responsible for throughout the day. As the oldest daughter and the first to get married, it was really important to me that she be able to fully enjoy the day. Instead, she was managing issues and filling in gaps for a service I had already paid for, which is incredibly disheartening. Lastly, we accidentally left a few items behind at the venue. That same night, Marlana texted asking what to do with them, and I was told they would be mailed out shortly that week. After hearing nothing, I followed up in mid-February and was told they would be sent the next day, but again, nothing was sent. It wasn't until mid-March that I was finally notified a package had been shipped, and I received it around March 18--over two months after my wedding. While I understand it was ultimately my responsibility not to leave items behind, the communication around this was completely misleading. Had I been told it would take over two months, I would have made other arrangements. In summary: the venue itself is beautiful and worth considering for the price, but the coordination service was disorganized, unreliable, misleading, and at times completely inappropriate. I strongly caution anyone against paying extra for it.

We hardly had two weeks for the event day and Johnell worked day and night to get everything planned and coordinated according to the theme of the party. She provided great suggestions like the claw machine, face painting and a magician. It was tough to get a magician in that short time period but she did her magic to find the best one for the event and it was great! All our 50+ guests who attended the party raved about how well the planning and coordination was done for a 3 year old's birthday. It wouldn't have happened without her! She also helped with my baby shower back in early 2020 when Covid didn't hit us yet. My husband worked with her to throw me a baby shower and it was amazingly done. That baby shower event has made us reach out to her again because we knew she will do an excellent job and can trust her because she puts her heart in every event that she takes up. I write this in case it's helpful for others. I sincerely wish I'd have known what I was getting…read moreinto before I entered into a contract with Johnell. If you're not inclined to read the entirety of this lengthy review, I sum my experience up in the last two paragraphs. My wedding was only 1.5 months away. I chose the full package option. As a full-time professional & graduate student, the idea of a wedding planner sounded like heaven. Her reviews were phenomenal. I thought we'd get timelines, help with our vision, several vendor options with differing price points. Instead we got snarky eye rolls when we'd ask about details, sarcastic jokes about us needing to book marriage counseling, disinterest in getting us what we actually wanted, and extremely abbreviated access to her at her convenience. Honestly, it was devastating. The most stressful part of our wedding planning became my interactions, and oftentimes lack of interactions, with Johnell. Price points and vision would continuously get lost in translation. The pattern: Time would pass despite our requests for input on selecting vendors (for example, 3 weeks for florals) and then we'd get an almost finalized contract from a single vendor we hadn't vetted. In the case of florals, at a price of $11K when we'd explained our floral budget was $3K. She was extremely dismissive. Even requests for a quick 15 minute check in call could go ignored. Her preference most of the time was to send emails during peak work hours. And her emails, most times, left things unclear. We explained several times that a weekly 15 minute call was what we needed. But she was extremely resistant. We had, at max, 2 to 3 such calls and then she refused to participate in any others. It was maddening with our 6 week timeline as we felt like our hands were tied about really understanding the status of and options for things. My fiancé and I defaulted to doing the legwork ourselves. When we did, vendors were LOVELY. Bending over backwards to assist us. Supplying us with multiple options and ideas. They took the time to hear us and ask about what we did and didn't want for our day. I was overwhelmingly grateful for their support and availability. I was stunned when Johnell sent an angry email chastising my fiancé for calling a vendor. She reminded us that we'd have to pay her even if we were doing the work. I reiterated to her that this had nothing to do with payment. We'd started doing the work ourselves because we felt handcuffed and limited w/ her at the helm. Over and over we'd discover her "no, that's not possible" would become "sure, we can do that, and here are several other options too" once we'd finally talk to a vendor. The most important thing for me: the wedding to have our unique imprint and flair- were in direct odds with Johnell's priorities. Her priority was the path of least resistance, what's easiest & most convenient for her. Things came together beautifully. But it really was in spite of and not because of our planner. With the vast majority of vendors, we elected to go with others that we'd vetted. This brought on its own drama as we then witnessed Johnell being cold and dismissive with these individuals when they'd attempt to ask questions or share options. I made several attempts to explain to her how poorly we felt we were being treated - via several emails and voicemail when she wouldn't answer or return my call. She would eventually respond in an email days later with a dismissive, "everything will be fine" one-liner. The last straw was her denying us a 15 minute phone call the week of the wedding. Four days after we requested the brief call with her, she emailed, "No, I've done my job already. See you at the wedding on Saturday. Email me a list if there's changes." This transpired despite her contracted description of "unlimited phone calls and emails" and us only having had at most three direct phone calls with her. At that point, we decided to cut ties with her completely. It was an extremely high sunk cost. One that benefitted her (she was paid in full despite not working the week of or day of the wedding) & would cost us greatly. It was worth it though as the thought of this, in our experience, truly unprofessional coordinator running our special day was too disheartening. In sum, I felt trapped in this working relationship. I wound up having to expend more time and energy on fixing things vs had I not had a planner to begin with. All the while being made to feel like a huge annoyance during the brief times when we would have access to her. Her communication style is one tailored to meet her needs and convenience rather than the client's. In hindsight, I never should have hired her. It was the poorest decision of my wedding planning process.

Willo gave superb instructions on operating and piloting the boat including an overview of relevant customs and laws while out on the water. Our group had six adults and one 2-year old and they had plenty of water safety devices for all ages. On a side note, it was wonderful to see how genuinely excited Willo was about Lake Travis once again having a healthy water level after several dry years. In terms of our experience on the lake, we got excellent advice on where to travel based on our team's interests and after following his directions it felt like we had arrived on our own private lake. We probably only saw a handful of other boats during our 3-hour excursion and that was only in passing. The boat came with a Garmin GPS that made it really easy to retrace our steps. For those wondering, there was excellent cell phone service out on the lake and we were able to use our phone GPS, make calls, and stream music. The boat had some nice integrated speakers with Bluetooth connectivity and we were able to jam out to our own tunes. There was also a cool flotation device attached to the back of the boat called the Aqua Lily Pad which we unrolled after anchoring, we had multiple adults laying on it without sinking into the lake. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience and we would highly recommend booking with Float On.

He was introduced to me as the boat owner and came across as relaxed and not at all pushy--qualities I appreciate when considering a business, especially since part of my motivation for attending was to explore options for my birthday celebration. Unfortunately, Paul's friends left a negative impression. A couple of them outright refused to acknowledge me, turning away when a gentleman attempted to introduce me. Others made inappropriate jokes about my accent in a condescending and offensive manner. One individual even made vulgar comments, implying that Paul should get my phone number to discuss event planning details later, which was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. While the event itself was enjoyable, the boat ride interesting, the behavior of those around the boat owner and the fact that the boat owner never replied to my text message trying to discuss my event, was disappointing and detracted from my overall experience. This experience left me with a negative impression of the boat's management, and I strongly feel that they are not welcoming to immigrants. The group consisted of older white men whose behavior was filled with prejudice and hostility. And for that reason I felt compelled to post a review discouraging people like me- and those against this type of behavior - to stay away and make better choices. We can use our money to invest in a much better experience elsewhere I left the boat traumatized and truly disgusted by those old men behaviors. Do better!

Jesse, a DJ with Byrne Rock, recently killed it at our wedding. He was laid-back, professional, and intuitively knew how to work the crowd. Both Jesse and Byrne were incredibly accommodating, fun, and friendly during the entire pre-wedding/planning process. We knew immediately upon meeting with them that Jesse was the perfect fit for our day. For those that are concerned about expenses (we were!), stop searching right now - these guys are it! Byrne is affordable and reliable and includes items in his overall fee that would be charged separately elsewhere. The cost was not the most important factor to us, but to find an incredible DJ for a reasonable price was oh so sweet. About a month before the wedding, Byrne contacted us to ask about music choices for the ceremony, reception, etc. I wanted to surprise my husband with an obscure song and Byrne assured me that they would find a way to play it, even though I didn't even request it until a week or so before our wedding day. I couldn't have asked for a more supportive/communicative DJ. During the reception, Jesse had EVERYONE out on the dance floor (even my husband's 85 year old grandfather!). He knew exactly what style of music to play and seamlessly blended Top 40 hits with some of our more obscure requests. To me, a DJ is hugely important to the overall atmosphere of a wedding and Jesse ensured that ours was absolutely fantastic - from the song I talked about in my vows that he later played to the ode to the Longhorns' win over West Virginia - everything was perfect! He was not in the least overbearing or cheesy (which I've experienced at friends' weddings) and ensured that the overall mood of the celebration was relaxed, fun, and just a little bit crazy (though that last part is due in large part to my insane family). Byrne was great throughout the process. He was professional and organized in helping us make selections for things we wanted to play/avoid for our reception. We were able to communicate everything we needed, and he helped us think through things we would need to think about, and we felt like he was flexible enough to allow us to add details as we made decisions throughout the process. He was able and willing to help mic musicians for the ceremony. We were able to feel confident going into the weekend that he knew what we were looking for, and we were more than pleased with how it turned out. He was setup and ready to go without us having to be involved day of, and the actual music selections were great. During dinner, he kept it to a perfect volume to be a nice background but never inhibiting conversations. And I got a real chuckle of satisfaction when one of my very-into-jazz and musically picky cousins came up to me during dinner in disbelief that it was our DJ who had made such great selections for the dinner music. We had a relatively long reception, and he did an excellent job of tweaking the music to keep the dancing alive and energetic as the evening went on and the crowd changed, gradually thinning as some people got tired. But especially toward the end, he really kept it all going with a great stream of "oh, and I absolutely have to be on the floor for this one" selections. A coordinator at the Hummingbird House recommended Byrne to our friend/wedding planner, and he knocked it out of the park. We interviewed a few DJs, and Byrne had that great balance of professionalism and know-how. As a musician himself, he understood what we'd need for my husband's brothers to play our first dance song and also knew how to make his system sound awesome in our space (the Fed). All of his communication leading up to our big day was responsive and detailed. On the day of our wedding, he totally nailed our song selections, hitting all of our cocktail hour/dinner must-plays and ramping things up perfectly when it came time to dance. Two pro tips: specifying "must-plays" as dinner/cocktail OR dancing helps everyone out, and the more the couple is on the dance floor themselves, the more everyone else will dance! (Fun aside, having worked in our space before, Byrne was able to help one of our elderly guests and her son-in-law troubleshoot why they were stuck on the wheelchair lift. Lots of laughs when they realized it was because her foot was covering the sensor...too good). Anyway, Byrne really did a fantastic job. He played all of the songs that were super important to us and added a mix that blended wonderfully with our must-plays. Byrne was referred to my now-husband and I through my wedding planner, Callie and we couldn't have been happier with our choice in hiring him as our DJ. He was communicative and easy-going throughout the process and made it clear that we had full reign to make the music what we wanted. And in the event that you're not picky, he can come up with his own mixture of tunes. He also provides couples with lists of "Most Requested", "Least Requested" and various chart toppers for inspiration. Byrne kept us dancing and at one point we even spotted our catering team busting out some moves, but then again Selena was playing and who can't resists Selenas? Perhaps my favorite thing about Rock is that he wasn't cheesy. We've all experienced those weddings where the DJ is just a little bit extra, either because they're dripping in corny jokes or wearing costumes...or both. Byrne is professional and personable and he makes sure to keep the party moving. Some other tidbits: I don't know the term for these, but he provided "dance lights" for the party as well as mics for the ceremony and speeches. I also found his service to be incredibly affordable - though I know that can be a relative term when planning a wedding. DJ Byrne Rock is the way to go for your Big Day! We had an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception, all at the same venue. This didn't seem to be a challenge at all for Byrne Rock. He did an amazing job with our ceremony music, looping it as needed and fading it in and out for a nice effect. He also kept everyone having fun on the dance floor at the reception. We scheduled a call with him the week before the wedding and ran through our tentative schedule of events and our ideas about the music for our wedding (I can't emphasize enough how important and helpful this is!). When the Big Day came, he showed up early to make sure he was all set up at both the ceremony site and in the reception hall. Then he helped to coordinate everyone else so things stayed on schedule and ran smoothly. I guess you could say that aside from music, Byrne really doubled as our wedding coordinator! My husband and I loved what a nice, chill vibe Byrne Rock brought to our wedding too. As beautiful and fun and wonderful as a wedding is, it is an overwhelming experience with a lot of moving pieces. Dj Jesse Jesse was all we could have asked for and more. He was supportive and helpful throughout the whole process of setting up our wedding. His communication and understanding were a considerable factor in making this day the best I've had. He ensured that the ceremony, dinner, and dancing music and tempo were perfect. We always asked our opinions for the type of theme we were looking for and the music was almost directly from out of our heads to the dance floor. We only needed to provide a few examples of the style we wanted then he took over and truly created the most memorable night of dancing, singing, and fun. Not only was Jesse outstanding and supportive but he was constantly on top of everything to ensure no problems ensued. We had one electrical problem that we weren't even aware of because of his initiative to test everything and fix it before the event started. Byrne was an amazing Dj for our wedding! He came highly recommended by our wedding planner, and I know why. He worked so well with us and was so flexible throughout the planning process, always quick to answer any of my questions. Half way through wedding planning, we had to move to Minnesota, so I was very nervous not getting to meet any of my vendors in person until the day of my wedding. Byrne was SO helpful, had a wonderful song list already composed which helped me narrow down our choices so much quicker. My husband and I hired Byrne to DJ our wedding in March. We decided to hire him because he was very knowledgeable about dj-ing weddings in Austin and music in general. He is great at communication and will get back to you quickly if you e-mail him with questions or concerns, which is definitely something you want when planning a big event. And the best part is that he is super chill and keeps the party going without being over the top. Actually, the best part is that he is all of those things while being reasonably priced! We are huge music lovers/snobs and the music at our reception was really important to us. During our initial meeting, we mentioned a specific song that we loved. We didn't bring it up again or make any special note about it on the list of songs we sent in, but Byrne remembered and played it for us as we were leaving the reception. We also sent Byrne a list of songs that would fill 6 hours, even though the reception only lasted 3 1/2, but he knew exactly what songs to play to put people in the right mood and keep everything upbeat. Out of all the vendors we had to hire for our wedding, we found hiring a DJ to be the most perplexing. It is hard to see samples of their work unless you have already attended one of their events. You basically have to rely on the recommendations of strangers on the internet. Well internet, let me be that stranger to highly recommend Byrne Rock! Byrne killed the music for our entire wedding from pre-ceremony to cocktail hour to a non-stop dance party at the reception. He was able to weave in our different tastes/song preferences/requests throughout the night while also balancing the feel of the crowd. One of the most common questions we got from our guests was, "Where did you get this playlist?" Answer: It's not a playlist, it's Byrne Rock. That exchange was often followed by high praise for Byrne's music selection. As a professional, Byrne is extremely kind, responsive, and well-priced. Byrne has a sincere passion for music that was evident just from our first meeting with him and was really understanding and responsive to our vision for how music would play into our wedding. I was referred to DJ Byrne by our party planner while planning my husband's 40th birthday party. Although DJ Byrne was already booked on the date I requested. I was hesitatant to work with someone I had not met in person.. all of our communication was via text, or email. Since DJ Byrne was not available, he sent DJ Eddie Garcia our way. Eddie was great! He kept the party guests entertained and was such a pleasure to work with. Prior to the party he was very detailed regarding music list, what I wanted to play or not play.. etc. He was punctual and exceeded my expectations! We got a chance to meet him in person and were impressed by how much he listened to us to get a feel for what we wanted out of the DJ for our wedding. He was already booked but recommended that we partner with DJ Michael Lentz. Like Byrne, Michael was great to talk to and really understood what we wanted out of the music throughout the evening. We were able to put together a comprehensive list on the Byrne Rock website of songs/styles of music we wanted at various parts of the evening. Where do I begin with Byrne? Not only far and beyond our expectations he crushed the entire performance. I'll go as far as to say that he is the best valued DJ in Austin. The quotes we got from other DJ's were ridiculous for what they were offering, then after meeting Byrne we knew we had struck gold. Our first meeting was about as easy as it could get. He was very personable and got a feel of what are musical tastes were. Then our wedding day came, he showed up and brought the house down. He not only played everything on our list but his deep experience in music (as he is a musician himself) gave him the ability to play songs that were perfect for the moment and exactly what the crowd was looking for. Byrne was great to work with from the start. Once we met him in person, we knew he would be a great DJ for us. We enjoy everything from 80s music to modern indie dance (LCD Soundsystem, The XX, etc), so our musical tastes are pretty eclectic. Byrne mixed the music we like with the songs he knew would get everyone out on the dance floor. That's not to say he played cheesy wedding songs and top 40. He had a 'no play' list and he honored our request to not play any of the songs on that list. The music he played kept us and our friends on the dance floor but also reached out our parents' generation to make sure they didn't feel left out. Byrne's also great as an emcee. He was careful to ensure he pronounced everyone's names correctly and has the perfect energy. He's not over-the-top or cheesy - he's just what we wanted. He's also a great value. Byrne Rock DJed our wedding in September and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! He did an AWESOME job. Byrne has great taste and is super easy to get along with. We got along with him right away and shared some musical interests (Lucinda Williams FTW!) He also isn't cheesy and doesn't hog the microphone like some other wedding DJs I've seen do. He's happy to make announcements and he has fun during the wedding but he's not obnoxious in the least (that was sorta my secret fear in hiring a wedding DJ). I was referred to Byrne by two friends who used him at their weddings. When we first met Byrne it clicked as he was really listening to our wants and needs and expressed his way of doing things without being pushy or salesy. We met with another DJ who was trying to get us to sign a contract on the spot and told us he'd play songs others would request and wasn't listening to what we were wanting. Byrne is very reasonable in price, good with communication and was at the reception on time. He played the music we wanted and took requests from our friends and definitely kept the night going. We loved it so much we paid for an extra half hour! Byrne is not the typical MC type so sometimes it was hard to hear his voice and know what we were supposed to do, but I was glad he wasn't overbearing like other DJs I've seen. In a panic we found Byrne on the knot who was luckily still available. He was very professional and had a contract drawn up within a day or two, giving us peace of mind. From there on he was great to work with. He had no qualms about doing our entire wedding (ceremony, dinner, and reception) which were in 3 different buildings, and pulled it off invisibly to us. Byrne Rock was the perfect DJ for our wedding. He is a great communicator, super easy to work with, and really good at what he does! We shared a couple different Spotify playlists with songs that we wanted played during the different parts of the wedding (cocktail hour, ceremony, dinner, dancing) and he arranged them in the perfect way. Our main hope for our wedding was to have a fun dance party, and I really think Byrne made this happen for us. He started with the anniversary dance, which got tons of couples out on the floor and then shifted to our favorite songs, in the perfect order that we had at least 90 minutes of great energy on the dance floor. After working with a bunch of not-so-great-at-communicating-online vendors, this was a big deal and good first impression. Pre-event prep with Seth went very well -- communication was efficient and friendly (e-mail, phone, Facebook, he's on everything), he was flexible and cooperative with our song choices (last minute on our part, oops!), and was very helpful in getting us the most for our budget. We met up once before the event at a Starbucks to discuss specifics, and kept in touch until the weekend via e-mail and phone. Also, though we didn't use it, he also does some great lighting, so if you're looking for a special setup definitely ask! Most importantly, he was great on the day of the event -- we admittedly had a really really hard crowd to work with (older asians, shy co-workers, etc) but after a while, our family and friends loosened up and enjoyed themselves for the rest of the reception. Our music choices leaned mostly toward Sinatra, family-friendly classics, and fun songs that everyone knows, but I wouldn't doubt Seth's abilities to throw some dirty south bass down with the best of them - I wish I had known about DJ's like Seth when I planned parties in college, as I'm sure that would have been great , haha. Overall, we were very happy working with Seth and Oxi Entertainment and recommend him to anyone looking for a great DJ and reliable, professional vendor for their event.

Brian is very professional to work with, from setting up time to making personalized touches to the photo strip images. If you are fortunate enough that Brian is available, he is always early to the event to get set up with his awesome photo booth. He brings it all and doesn't ask for help (but I don't mind helping!). I also love the light booth he uses, just the right light to make anyone look amazing, especially in a wig and feather boa. One thing I really appreciate - Brian uses a high-resolution camera in the booth, not just an iPad, so the picture quality on our photo strips is excellent. He also customizes the photo print outs to include our logo alongside the event logo, so the marketing value of the booth is extended beyond the event.
