My fiancé really wanted to get married on July 4th, so we had only a few weeks to plan everything! And since this would be a small ceremony (only 10 people), we wanted to do this on a budget. I didn't know the first thing about planning a wedding, but in talking with Regina, I was immediately put at ease because I could tell she was gifted at planning weddings (or any events) and had everything I would need for a beautiful wedding! Madeline Manor is gorgeous! It's spacious with many rooms for everything you will need for any type or size event. The interior design is a classic style featuring dark, espresso wood flooring and an eye-catching grand, spiral staircase. They also have wonderful outdoor accommodations had we elected that option. Although Regina and Madeline Manor hold all types and sizes of events, they had recently decided to start offering "elopement packages". This was precisely what we were looking for. She prepared 3 elopement package proposals for us to choose from, each tier with a different level of offerings. She laid out what offerings came with each package, allowing for certain choices. She made herself available by phone, email and even an in person visit to see the venue and work through details and finalize plans. Regina and Madeline Manor took care of every detail from décor and food to event timing, photos and even music! They made this process so easy, all we had to do was pick what we wanted and they made it happen!! The day of the event, when I saw the décor, set-up and food, it was more stunning than I could have imagined. And the food tasted divine! While we were on a budget, you would have never known it. The beauty and elegance they provided far exceeded what we would have dreamed possible for the cost! The experience they provided for us was in no way diminished from that of a traditional large wedding, no detail was spared, everything was included, it was merely on a smaller scale! She and the staff really exceeded our expectations. We will never forget and always be grateful to them! It really felt as though we were celebrating with family as they seemed as excited and happy for us as we were! We were already leaning toward hiring a coordinator but then our venue (Ma Maison) required us to have one so we contacted their entire list of preferred vendors for coordinators and we are so glad we did because that's how we found Heather from Vintage & Lace!! Of all of the planners and coordinators we talked to, I was just immediately drawn to how warm, friendly, AND organized she is. Heather is an absolute pro with countless weddings under her belt, but still so kind and easy to talk to. Then, despite planning our wedding from another city, Heather made it SO easy and smooth. We technically only booked her for day-of coordination (with full communication/access the month prior) but from day one, she was still always available via call, email, text, whathaveyou, no matter when or what kind of (ridiculous, I'm sure) questions I had. We didn't actually meet Heather in person until our rehearsal the day before our wedding, and she was an absolute ROCK STAR the entire weekend. She managed to wrangle our large wedding party (14 bridesmaids and groomsmen) and all of our family (including bilingual and non-native English speakers, as well as divorced family) with both grace and authority. It's also worth noting we had several extras (a Chinese tea ceremony before our wedding ceremony, two large shuttles to transport our guests to and from Dripping Springs, getting Whataburger delivered to our venue for a late night snack) and Heather handled EVERYTHING seamlessly. Anything I thought of or had concerns about, she handled before I even voiced them to her! If anything went wrong on our wedding day, I have no idea what it was, because Heather was ON it. She was also incredibly thoughtful and adaptable, from my mom wanting to move the cake-cutting earlier, to making sure all of our belongings were packed away and that we had plenty of snacks and drinks in our getaway car. Her day-of assistant, Jasmine, was also so helpful and sweet. They both made the entire weekend just a wonderful, fun, amazing experience where we got to fully enjoy getting married and celebrating with family and friends. She assuaged my panic and let me know that 6 weeks for a 30 person wedding was easy peasy. I cannot recommend Heather enough! With my hectic work schedule, she contacted me via email as my preference. We are based in Philadelphia, and while we didn't meet until the day before the wedding, you definitely couldn't tell as everything went off without a hitch. Well if there was anything wrong during the ceremony and reception, we had no idea. She handled all of our vendors seamlessly and made everyone feel safe during the pandemic. I had a dozen bridesmaids, and we were very comfortable getting ready in the spacious bridal suite. We loved having a separate groom's cabin for the guys. They keep the grounds maintained, and the inside very clean. There are so many perfect photo opportunities including the fireplace and lawn where we had cocktail hour and the grand staircase outside. It was very easy to work with the Arlo staff; I mainly worked with Jeannie and Melonie, but everyone I communicated with was very professional. Our final walkthrough meeting went very smoothly. Unfortunately, our overall experience was significantly overshadowed by the numerous restrictions and limitations that made planning and executing the event far more difficult than we had anticipated. We fully understand that every venue has rules and policies that must be respected. However, the limitations imposed were far more restrictive than expected and made it difficult for us to provide the experience we had envisioned for our guests. Throughout the planning process and during the event itself, it became clear that there were many operational restrictions that were not disclosed prior to signing the contract. These restrictions were only communicated after we had already made our deposits. While we understand the importance of venue policies, greater transparency from the beginning--or a more flexible approach--would have allowed us to make better-informed decisions and avoid unnecessary stress. We expected to work with a team that would collaborate with us to ensure the event ran smoothly. Instead, we were consistently met with numerous restrictions that significantly limited our ability to deliver the event we had planned. Some of the restrictions we encountered included the prohibition of indoor cold sparklers, dry ice effects, and even a custom dance floor decal in the center of the dance floor. We were also not permitted to install any decorations on the ceiling or walls. Additionally, we were required to keep the music at a very low volume. We were specifically told that if the volume was increased, the event would be stopped. This warning was delivered by the venue administrator who was overseeing the event. Unfortunately, the administrator's attitude throughout the event was disappointing. She was uncooperative, appeared visibly annoyed at all times, and interacted with us in a manner that made us feel as though she was doing us a favor by allowing us to use the venue, rather than recognizing that we had paid a significant amount to rent the facility. Her demeanor was unprofessional and detracted from what should have been a joyful and memorable celebration.

From the first moment that we met her, she felt like family and her calming spirit made planning a wedding feel easy, even if only while around her. She worked with us to design, plan, and coordinate our perfect day. The day of the wedding, Collyn provided an immeasurable amount of help to make our day perfect. From navigating the walk of two brides simultaneously walking down 2 different aisles on opposite sides of the venue, to flipping the venue from ceremony to reception flawlessly, to ensuring that our day of plan went off without a hitch, Collyn was simply amazing. Up until just before our wedding, we had actually booked a different venue. But 2 weeks before the big day, our initial venue made it impossible for us to host the wedding at their site. We desperately looked around for somewhere else, and we were coming to terms with the idea that we might have to hold the wedding in a public park when our amazing wedding coordinators, Yellow Umbrella Events, found Blue Rock Estate! We were lucky that and they were still available because they're brand new and hadn't sold out yet. We're SO THANKFUL that we found this venue! First, the owners and on-site coordinator as incredibly kind! From the moment we walked onto the property, they were completely accommodating and allowed us to transform their already beautiful property however we wished. They made us feel very welcome, and they were very friendly throughout the stress of the last minute venue change. On the wedding day, they let my bridesmaids and I arrive early so we could eat lunch and relax. The wedding went off without a hitch, and they were very friendly to us, our guests, and our vendors. As far as the property goes, it couldn't have been more gorgeous. The pathway from the parking lot to the main building winds through a beautiful butterfly garden full of aromatic sage plants and festoon lighting. The main building itself is similar to a Spanish-style villa, and it was once built as a artist's studio. It opens out to the lawn via several French doors, as well as a castle-like solid wood door at the back. The building's white stone exterior was a perfect backdrop for our lighting, and the grassy field was great for lawn games and photos. The stone pool even provided a nice water feature off of which our lighting was reflected. Our ceremony and dinner were held in the adjacent granite gravel space framed by a beautiful oak tree. The trees gave ample shade, and the air-conditioned interior was great for dancing and cooling off during our outdoor, June wedding. The bridal suite was bright and full of natural sunlight, and the groom's suite was classically decorated with a dark leather sofa and similar, masculine decor. Though our excellent caterer, Royal Fig, brought their own food trucks for cooking on-site, the fully-equipped kitchen was perfect for staging the appetizers and dinner. The property itself is very well marked and easy to get to. There was ample parking for our 90 guests and enough space for several mini-buses and rental trucks to drive through. Overall, I couldn't have pictured a more beautiful wedding. It was a blessing in disguise when we were forced to find a new venue, and I'm SO thankful that we found Blue Rock Estate. If you're looking for the perfect blend of "rustic chic," then Blue Rock Estate is for you!

Two months ago I was given the task of finding an offsite location for my companies upcoming…read moreoffsite and thought Ruby Ranch would be a wonderful fit for our needs. How wrong I was! Upon arriving, I started to notice that the upkeep of the property was very poor. This is just a small list of issues we encountered: AC units were not working, the kitchen refrigerator was not cooling which cost us over $100 in spoiled items, the kitchen sink had no water coming out, our staff had no hot water in the mornings for showers and one of our teammates got stung by a scorpion while using the towel from her bedroom restroom. With all of these problems arising, I decided it was time to call the owner/property manager Madelyn. As I spoke to her mentioning what we were experiencing, her only reaction was that no AC unit works in Texas when it's 100 degrees, which I know is not valid. She then proceeded to ask me what time we wanted to leave the next morning. This completely caught me off guard as I thought that being the owner you would try and resolve issues your paying guests are encountering. This was far from the response I was looking for! After planning this offsite and having several team members as well as speakers staying at the location, we could not just leave to find another space. We all had to deal with the situations at hand and try and get through the next 3 days the best as we could. Following check out, I decided to email Madelyn regarding all of the problems and inconveniences we all had to handle. Still no professionalism fro her regarding her venue to paying customers who keep her in business. I would think being a family owned business, you would treat your customers with respect and reply on the word of mouth business. We as a company, nor I personally will ever use Ruby Ranch again or refer it to anyone who is searching for a venue. Hopefully this helps someone else from going through the same experience!
