Came by for breakfast the other day and it was a decent experience. Dishoom Shoreditch is conveniently located near a bus stop. Dining is available both indoors or outdoors in the covered seating area. Service was attentive by the staff. Started off with the chai and it was decent. I think their chai used to be more fragrant. Moved on to the wrestler's naan and it was gigantic featuring freshly baked naan cream cheese, ketchup, eggs, streaky bacon, along with sausages. The wrap was a touch hard to eat too! The restaurant was 20% full during a weekday breakfast. The restaurant was offering some type of loyalty card at checkout. Paying is done via QR code and credit card...which leads me to ask the question...what is the 12.5% service charge for then?!?
Dishoom absolutely delivers on flavor. Every dish we tried had depth, heat, and that layered spice that lingers in the best way. The prawns were good, perfectly cooked with bold, punchy seasoning. My biggest recommendation: go big with your ordering. This isn't the kind of place where you stick to one or two plates. The magic really happens when you try a wide variety and share everything around the table. It's much better suited for larger groups than a small, quiet dinner for two. Service was solid, attentive without hovering, and the overall vibe is lively, energetic, and fun. It feels like a place meant for conversation and passing plates back and forth. Only minor knock: oddly enough, the toilets weren't as clean or as vibey as the rest of the restaurant, which felt a little off-brand given how polished everything else is. That said, 100% worth the visit. Go hungry, bring friends, and order more than you think you need.
Dishoom is always a go-to while in London. Everything is so flavorful, so fresh and so delicious. The restaurant has such a great energy and is always lively. The staff is friendly and attentive. I do recommend a reservation as I have never seen it not busy. This restaurant is also a great option if you have vegetarian/vegan folks in your group as the menu has something for everyone. My personal go-tos - chai tea, house black daal, and the chicken ruby. I highly recommend Dishoom if you are in London!
Amazing Indian restaurant on the pricer side but worth it. You can't make reservations but you can wait in line. They give you complimentary drinks while you wait and the line moves fast. They then let you get a drink in the bar area while you wait. The atmosphere is super cool and fun. The service from the waiter to the hostess was fantastic. Very attentive and knowledgeable. They have multiple locations as well. Def worth a stop!
Dishoom had been on our list for weeks leading up to our recent trip. We were able to grab the last walk in table available just before 6pm. The food was mouth watering and oh, so delicious. The chicken ruby was the star of the show, though it did not have much chicken. I would suggest adding more chicken. They recommend that you order 3-4 things and split them amongst 2 people and that is what we did. The interior was very nice and the vibes were high. It was very crowded! We would go back tomorrow if we could! Looking forward to when it expands to the US.
I've really been looking forward to finally being able to give Dishoom a try! I walked-in around 6:30 on a Monday and was quoted around a 20 min wait time (solo dining this time) -- there's a nice bar area for customers to wait and order some drinks/snacks. Ultimately I managed to get seated just around the estimated 20 min :) Per my server's recommendation, I ordered the chicken ruby with garlic naan, and it was definitely a great choice. I loved the depth of the curry flavour, a wonderful balance of umami, creaminess and the (just-right level of) spicy-ness. The meat was so tender and juicy, and very well-infused with the rich curry flavour. The garlic naan, light and fluffy, was a lovely complement to the heavier flavours of the curry (but I wish it had more of a garlicky taste). I also ordered a mango and fennel lassi to drink, which was yummy. The mango flavour was crisp and fresh, and I liked that it wasn't too sweet nor was the texture too thick. I did not taste much of the fennel though. Portion sizes were not bad -- I think it's definitely a higher-end restaurant and the prices reflect that. I'm really looking forward to my next visit already to try some other fantastic dish off their fairly-extensive menu.
Every trip to London, Dishoom was a must. This time round very disappointed their service sucked. Not sure if the quality of their food and services have gone down due to how quickly they have expanded that they don't care about, both service or quality. I feel this place is gaining attention due to the Hype it created when it first opened. When we got there no line which was great seated immediately. We waited 15min before we were attended to. We ordered our drinks and meals at the same time. Appetizers came out no drinks. Which was ok. We asked for water 3 times from our server, she smiled and tapped me on the shoulder and walked away. I'm now confused if water was coming or not so we waived another server and right away got water. Finally got our drinks , which was a soda and wine. So not that they were preparing a fancy cocktail. We ordered chicken tikka which was very spicy and didn't feel like a 2 start, fish curry which was very flavorful, prawns were spicy and delicious as expected. The naans came out very chewy which we all were very disappointed about. We thought it was a bad batch so ordered another serving and plain naan was giving our gums a good stretch. When we told our server she goes that's how naans are supposed to be and I mentioned our garlic naan was fine. Again she smiled and walked away. No doubt our dinner experience here was challenging but what got us the most was the smell of food that carried with us after dinner. Poor ventilation and not sure if this had to do with the kitchen being upstairs or what but we smelled of what we ate through out the evening, that we tried to walk it off but didn't help. We got in our uber headed to our hotel and I could tell our driver was not happy with the smell and put his window down in the pouring rain. Smell stayed with us till our next destination and there was no perfume at the duty free store that helped get rid of the smells. If you pls if visiting this location dress down and be prepared to "to-go" the smell with you.

The vibe is lively but still cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive even with the crowd. I would definitely come back.
Had reservations for lunch at this place. Have seen the long lines at the other locations. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Sat downstairs. Was a little noisy and loud here so it was hard to hear our waitresses response and recommendations. We had the chicken biryani, the chef special - Prawn Pathia, the moan monkfish curry and the vegetarian samosas. Also ordered some naan. The sauce on the Prawn Pathia was so good. The prawns were well marinated and tasted great. The sauce had a spice to it and as well as some tang - tasted like chutney. We needed the extra naan for this and the curry. Fish curry was delicious- the first couple of spoons you could taste the tanginess of the curry but the coconut milk rendered a nice sweet ending. The vegetable samosas came with some chutneys/sayces. Our favorite was the coriander and mint: so refreshing. Definitely coming back next time I'm in London.
*Location / Directions Easy to find. The entrance is fairly unassuming but as you walk in and up to the greeters, it's very nicely decorated. We had a group of 4 and the wait at the time was 45 mins. Enough time for us to find seats at the bar and order drinks. *Drinks / Cocktails The bartender offered to walk us through the drink options and offered water as well. I am a huge fan of old fashions and a huge fan of anything coconut flavored so this old fashioned was absolutely amazing! The margarita was pretty standard but also very good. *Appetizers / Entree The food was freaking AMAZING! Packed with flavor, spice, fresh ingredients and the perfect blend of seasoning. We were all blown away with every item we tried and could not pick a favorite among the choices. The lamb chops were seasoned and prepared to perfection and the naan was incredible. I can go on and on, but I'll leave it there. LOL *Service From the greeter, to the bar tender, and from the server to the staff, the service was nothing short of welcoming and professional. Each person played their parts wonderfully and made us feel like we were the only ones in the entire restaurant. They were attentive, patient, and very helpful throughout our visit. * Conclusion Run! Do not walk to Dishoom! We were told that they are a chain restaurant and that they'll be opening a location in New York at the end of 2026. If all their chains were as awesome as this one, this will be great for the U.S. we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend it when you're in London and want a unique and memorable experience. 10/10
Not just "hyped", dishoom deserves the recognition! SERVICE Amazing service, easy to make reservations online, and easy to check in and get seated once your entire party has arrived. INSIDE Spacious, clean, and plenty of seating both upstairs and down. MENU For larger parties, they recommend their prefix menu which includes a various sampling of lots of delicious items. FOOD 10/10 I haven't eaten Indian food much, but was thoroughly impressed. From my mango lassi which was perfectly sweetened and tart to buttered buns, fried okra, black Dahl, garlic naan, and lamb skewers, everything was delicious. I esp loved the lamb skewers! We ordered a side of garlic naan with cheese which is basically a quesadilla and it was super cheesy and delicious as well. OVERALL Would def recommend Dishoom when visiting London. It'll definitely be a hit in your books! read more

Dishoom is always a go-to while in London. Everything is so flavorful, so fresh and so delicious. The restaurant has such a great energy and is always lively. The staff is friendly and attentive. Came on a Friday night without a reservation, and only had to wait 20 min for a table for two. Loved the large NA drink menu. The matcha sour was great. Food was good. Menu was really large, which was nice, and the server was helpful in navigating it. Would recommend. read more

This is by far the best Indian food I ever had. I like curry, but every time I always worry about smelling like Indian food or upset stomach after dinner, well I don't have to worry about any of those this time. The food was excellent, that Chicken Ruby was on point, it has hints of spicy and I just want to dip everything into that sauce. The PRAWN PATHIA has more spicy but with so sweetness to balance it. The naan and rice were also great balance, I need like 10 more naan for my sauce!!! The surprise was the grilled greens, I can tasted that they fresh off the grill and also the dressing that comes with it were excellent. This restaurant was also beautiful and staff were professional. I will come back every time I come back to London from now on!!! read more
Came here for dinner on Sunday, the place was bustling with people and activity. Staff is super nice and accommodating. Heard great things about their food and drinks, tried a few apps and mains. Our server was very helpful with recommendations. We tried bhel and lamp chops for apps, and black dal, lamb and chicken curry along with romali roti for mains. Lamp chops were great but everything else was just average and the flavors did not stand out. We finished it off with chocolate pudding. Overall a bit let down as the food did not hit the mark. read more

All Hype, Minimal Wow - Just Okay Indian Food Tried this spot after hearing about it from pretty much everyone and seeing the long lines at every location around the city. Figured with that many people waiting, it had to be something special... but honestly? It was just okay. I ordered the Chicken Ruby, supposedly one of their signature dishes and while it wasn't bad, it didn't blow me away either. The sauce was rich but a bit one-note, and the chicken itself was tender but not super flavorful. It tasted fine, but lacked that depth and spice you expect from a truly great Indian curry. The portion size was decent, and everything was presented well, but for the wait and the hype? Definitely underwhelming. It feels more like a trendy chain than a place focused on nailing the food. With so many locations and such a huge following, it's clearly doing something right just not enough to make me want to rush back. If convenience and consistency are what you're after, it'll do. But if you're looking for standout Indian cuisine, keep exploring. read more

Absolutely exquisite meal. Cheerful service. They had such fun explaining their favorites and helping us decipher the menu. I have never been to India - and maybe this is an average reflection of great Indian food. To that, I cannot attest. However, to me, Dishoom is the result of traditional Indian cuisine, paired with extensive culinary knowledge and creative pairings of all things texture, taste, depth, and color. A true culinary adventure in a beautiful space! PRO TIP: the chai tea is free refills! What a delight it was to learn that! read more
During my weeklong visit to London I had 2 Dishoom experiences, dinner and breakfast. Both were absolutely wonderful. Dishoom is a beautiful space, inside and outside (I want to return when it's warmer to experience the outside) and so far I've sat in the bar area which is very chic and in part of the dining room near windows in booths. The booths are huge and I have been tempted to sleep there after eating all the things. For dinner, my party shared several things, which is customary. I enjoyed everything we had, but suggest people check out the menu and choose what's right for them - my party had a pescatarian and our menu skewed that way. All of the food was amazing, there were no survivors, lol. I also had a delicious lassi to accompany my meal. Another day we returned for breakfast. I ordered the pancakes, sausages, and the breakfast lassi. When the pancakes showed up, I looked at them dubiously, just knowing they wouldn't get me full. And yet, they did. Order them, I enjoyed them very much, as well as the lassi. It's different in a good way. Service has been impeccable. Highly recommend. Hope to return soon. read more

Went twice, one for dinner and once for breakfast. Both were amazing, but the breakfast blew me away. For dinner, the daal was creamy and the broccoli salad was light and refreshing. For breakfast, the porridge was flavored perfectly and the wrestler's naan was a great combo of eggs, sausage, and bacon. It was very busy both times but we were seated immediately for breakfast (Friday 10 AM) and within 15 minutes for dinner (Monday 9 PM). Servers were friendly and the decide was cool. read more

What can I say- AMAZING food! Their lamb biryani and Vada Pav is so good! A bit on the spicier side but if you can handle medium heat, you are fine! We tried the house daal which was not spicy at all so perfect for our little one to eat with rice. The staff is so cordial and helpful! read more

Came to the Shoreditch location since it was the only spot we could get a reservation and avoid long lines. The service is quick and the host and waitress were all very nice. I asked for the keychain which I received but we couldn't play the matka game that day. I ordered the ruby red chicken with naan and my sister ordered the paneer roll. The roll ended up being way too spicy. The winner dish were the okra fries. We enjoyed them so much! The place wasn't that packed because we had picked it for lunch so service was quick. I liked the Indian decorations and vibes. Although I would like to try more Dishoom locations in the future, I don't understand the hype of this chain of restaurants. The food is pretty average but the experience is what makes it worthwhile. read more

THIS RESTAURANT MAY RUIN YOUR TRIP If you begin your culinary journey here, you may well find the rest of your holiday dining rather a let-down -- the food was nothing short of exquisite. I ordered a single sabji with a cheese naan and savoured every morsel as though it were my very first encounter with Indian cuisine. The experience was elevated by Jonathan, my waiter, who might just be the most charming and courteous gentleman I've ever met in a restaurant. He shared a bit of Dishoom's history, guided me through the menu with genuine enthusiasm, confirmed my dietary requirements, and made spot-on recommendations. He was endlessly attentive -- refilling my water without prompting, providing little sweets at the end, and offering mouth fresheners with the sort of grace one might expect from an old friend rather than a stranger. Whether this is standard Dishoom etiquette, a hallmark of Jonathan himself, or simply the British way of doing things, I couldn't say -- but it set the bar impossibly high for the rest of my trip. read more
Unfortunately, this restaurant was a disappointment for us. I added Dishoom to our list of restaurants to check out while in London after I came across the fact that it had so many good reviews (across multiple locations). It is definitely a vibe; highly recommend making a reservation if you want to get in timely. We had gone on weekday evening around 6pm and it was busy; walk-ins were given an estimate of about 1 hour for a table. We were seated about 15-20ish minutes after our reservation time. My husband and I were dining, and we ended up getting the pau bhaji, makhmali paneer, chicken ruby, and a roomali roti. As someone who has had a lot of pau bhaji at different restaurants, this variation wasn't my favorite. It had a very strong amount of spice but it was somehow bland. It needed something more, including butter. The paneer was nice and soft but the sauce they had drizzled over tasted more like a pesto. The ruby chicken was very tender, not too spicy, a nice change given how spicy the pau bhaji was. The curry was thick and creamy, and the roomali roti was pretty good. Service was okay, they didn't have any chai when we ordered it but they brought it out to us later when it was ready. Overall, I think maybe my expectations were too high going into it. read more
At least five of my friends recommended dining at Dishoom in London, so I made a reservation for the Shoreditch location the week before my trip. Since I visited around the holidays, I reserved the Winter Feast meal, which included a 3-course prix fixe menu. The first course included: new keema pau (similar to a lamb "sloppy joe"), okra fries, and bhel (puffed rice dish). Everything was excellent - I especially loved the festive touches of pomegranate that topped the bhel puri. The second course included: sheekh kabab, paneer curry, biryani, black daal, fresh vegetables, raita, and naan. Everything was superb; however, the meat dishes were quite heavy, and we couldn't finish everything (as hard as we tried). The standout for me was the paneer - I sopped up every ounce of sauce with the naan. For dessert, we had a choice among three flavors of kulfi pops, which were a sweet and refreshing way to end the meal. The food and service was overall excellent, although the restaurant itself was too dark and noisy to have a conversation with the people at my table. The food was worth a second visit, and perhaps we'd try another one of Dishoom's locations. read more

Dishoom is a must stop if you're visiting London. Their menu is loaded to the brim with various selections and it is recommended that your group share a few dishes. Unfortunately, dishoom does not have a full service menu at the bar, so make sure to put your name on the list. I was able to enjoy their chicken Ruby, which is one of their signature dishes. When I was in London, many local and foreign friends recommended Dishoom as a must-try for Indian cuisine. I went to the CBD location near Liverpool station around 8 pm and waited over 30 minutes because it was so busy.
