    L'intérieur avec les palmes.

It was a happy accident that I landed here with a few friends yesterday. They had eaten lunch, but I was hungry, and since they didn't serve the chèvre salad until dinner (how grateful I am for that now!) I ordered the duck confit. Having only eaten duck a few times, I'm not even sure why I ordered it, but it was the most transcendent thing I've eaten in a long time. Beneath a blanket of crispy, browned skin lay meat that was so tender it fell right off the bone at the slightest touch of a fork. It was perfectly seasoned , especially lovely with the huge pile of fried, garlicky potato slices that came beside it (I had to ask for help to get even halfway through it!) A green salad completed the meal. Delicious. My friends had cocktails and coffees and loved them; the prices were more than reasonable, and special thanks to the staff who were accommodating to my stream of guests (one left right away, one shortly after, and two more arrived an hour later.) They were polite, helpful and even put up with my fledgling French!

This is my favorite bar in the 16e. Young crowd, chill/fun service, lower prices than most other places around there.

The portion sizes were excellent for the price. I was expecting smaller portions, so I was pleasantly surprised when my plate came out packed with food and definitely worth the value. I would definitely recommend checking this place out, especially the location near the Eiffel Tower. Great food, generous portions, and an overall good experience!

I came here on my first visit to France with my sister and brother-in-law. I had just finished my time at the Eiffel tower and walked over to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. I was seated immediately, waiting for the rest of my party. The staff were incredibly patient, allowing me to stay for the fifteen-ish minutes it took for my family to arrive. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.

Delicious and beautiful. We had to wait another 30 minutes for our main dish. Granted we were given complimentary olives, chips and bread. They did apologize for the food delay. Here are the issues I had. We shared the tomato salad appetizer. When it was brought out, the server didn't offer to give us small plates. Also, after eating it, we had to use the same forks for our main dishes. For both main dishes (Truffled Macaroni and Roasted Cod), I felt they weren't as warm as they should have been. Nevertheless, they were enjoyed tremendously. I felt the menu weren't as descriptive as I'm use to. In California, a lot of higher end restaurants list so many ingredients on their menu, you can almost make the dish at home with it. Dessert was 'Red Fruit Tart.' So descriptive. It was way too hard. It should have been allowed to sit at room temperature before serving. We still recommend this place since the food was really good. They just need to work on their service, considering their price points.
