Absolutely worth the visit. Food is incredible and service was very friendly and attentive. I went for breakfast, and the avocado toast was excellent. They also have lots of pastry options and Ethiopian dishes as well. Coffee was great too! Definitely don't miss this place.

A big part of D.C. is the Ethiopian community and Buna Coffeehouse is one of several Ethiopian cafes in the city. This one is beloved by the neighborhood. Service is always on point and the space inviting. I enjoyed my iced latte. It's most strong and darker than I'm used to, but I really enjoyed it with a splash of simple syrup from the condiment bar. To eat, they sell bagels, sandwiches, and more. Popping in for breakfast, I ordered a chocolate chip muffin. It comes full of little chocolate chips, but it was very dry. I recommend asking it to be warmed up beforehand.

Delicious vegan Ethiopian food. I had the vegan platter and the flavors of everything were most definitely on point. The matcha latte with oat milk was also delicious. Although I got mine to go, it seems like it's a great place to get some work or writing done.

Come here often but just writing another review since my friends from out of town came here and loved it as well. Favorite spot in DC!

My mom lives around the corner so the back solo table is my new remote outdoor spot. Good food I had a smoothie, habesha eggs and a cappuccino I recommend all 3. My case manager had tibs her first habesha dish and she loved it. Ideal for work meetings and remote work. Best café in the area for day work.

Amazing food, drinks, service, and atmosphere! We tried one of their bowls and the avocado toast - both completely delicious and vegan. The coffee drinks are to die for. Highly recommend for vegans.

A Petworth gem that is not to be missed! Possibly my favorite of DC's many Ethiopian coffee shops and cafes. It's small inside but they've got a lot of outdoor seating. Solid coffee (I usually get iced coffee or a hot latte with oat milk) and even better food--American, Ethiopian, and fusion options for breakfast and lunch. I especially love the veggie roll-ups, such an ingenious way to transform the typical injera platter into an on-the-go takeout meal. The vegan options are stellar as well. I highly recommend the Ethiopic bowl and the vegan kitfo sandwich, they're so well spiced and satisfying!

This is always a reliable spot to grab a coffee, pasty, or a sandwich or some yummy Ethiopian food. The seating inside and out is super cute. The staff are amazing. It has a great community feel to it. Check out the community board for fun offerings in the neighborhood.

Breakfast on my mind! I was super hungry and didn't want to cook so I searched online for a restaurant that makes Lox bagels. I came across this coffeehouse and saw that they had really good reviews and what I wanted. Ordered the Lox bagel on sesame and a caramel frappe. The bagel sandwich was delightful. Good amount of salmon, cucumbers tomatoes and onions. Just what your girl needed! The frappe was cool but there wasn't much of it considering the size that it came in. I'll have to give it another try. I placed my order through DoorDash and will say that everything traveled well. That's extremely important for me when I place orders via food delivery apps. Definitely a place that I recommend!

I recently moved to the neighborhood and am less than 5 mins from this spot. My former coworker and I met up here a few weeks ago bc she also lives in Petworth just a bit further north. I had the breakfast bowl -- BIG portion; the tibs had great flavor and every bite was different - a little egg, a little guacamole, a little grain. I had to come back and try the avocado toast with turmeric goldenkraut and it didn't disappoint. If you don't like spicy things, the kraut has a bit of a kick I wasn't expecting! Got the chai both times - yum! Hits the spot The space is bigger than it looks from the outside -- 3 or so tables in the back, 3 in the front, a bar space AND an outdoor patio with three tables.

Hi marks for the food and coffee. Not exactly my favorite cafe to sit in and hangout.

I was told this charge does not go to the waiter but is instead shared with other staff (busser, host, etc.), and that customers are expected to leave an additional tip for the server. I initially left a 20% tip because I did not notice the automatic 18% service charge. To make matters worse, I was initially given the wrong receipt, which added to the confusion. When I realized the service charge had already been included and asked for the extra tip to be removed, the waiter told me he does not receive any portion of the 18% charge. I asked whether the expectation was for customers to leave a total of 38%, and I was told that is how it works at this restaurant and in Washington DC. I found the billing and tipping process confusing and misleading. I won't be back.

No looking around for a waiter! I was really impressed with their attentiveness. The hospitality is truly impeccable. When I gave feedback that the caesar salad was way too salty, the manager understood precisely what had gone wrong and instantly replaced it. I would have liked two meatballs rather than one, which would have felt generous, but this was not intended to be a meal, after all. We also ordered the corn and jalapeno fritters (which were probably fabulous when they were originally conceived but not currently being executed well) and for dessert a fantastic zabaglioni. Little Coco's is casual but stylish, a fun place to go, as is to be expected at all of Jackie Greenbaum's spots. Aperitivo Hour is M-F from 5-7. Highly recommend!
