The cashier was lacking knowledge for an unmarked item. When we went back to check there was no price. When we told her she made up a price I thought was to much. She was short and rude. We went in today after driving a half hour to pick up some feed. The lady who checked us out was overly passive-aggressive and annoyed by the fact that one of our bags wouldn't ring up. The transaction then continued to be an annoying process for the cashier. This Cal-Ranch is a disappointment every time we go there. We tell ourself every time we go that we shouldn't go back... Inevitably we go back randomly for one reason or another. Every time we go it starts by no one there willing to help, even when you find someone to help you it's like you have asked them the most inconvenient thing possible and they do not try to hide their unwillingness to help. I have had multiple instances where the products labeled are a different price than what is rung up, and when you tell them what was advertised they tell you "well that's wrong and this is the right price." The cashiers (especially one in particular) are rude and do not know anything about the store (or they pretend not to know so they don't have to be inconvenienced). I am surprised the store is still in business. I will always choose a different place to get the things I need if I can. I have been treated badly there and they just recently treated my wife so bad they made her cry... When she went to buy something it didn't have a tag on it, nor did it have the instructions with it so when she said she didn't want it anymore the cashier was so rude and degrading that she cried and vowed never to go back. I used to like going to this store and buying things. This evening has changed that. I went in looking for parts for the swamp cooler. I looked for about ten minutes and not one did I see anyone that worked on the sales floor. Finally, I find sometime that works on the floor. I asked him where the parts for the swamp cooler are at and he went to show me. He explained that they were running low scabs supplies for the swamp coolers. I showed him what I needed and asked him if he had any. He just pointed to the wall and asked,"you don't see any hanging there do you?". I told him I would just go to Home Depot where they actually care about their customers. I am so done dealing with Cal Ranch. read more

They appear to be big and great. Only 2 size 12 cowboy boots in store lots and lots of smaller sizes but nothing for Men with lots of understanding. Next headed over to the fishing section. All I can say is better shop at Kmart. read more

Cal Ranch has always been a good spot for us to get the kind of miscellaneous things that we need. From hunting, fishing, and camping to rock hounding and gardening. It's a good place to go They also have a nice array of candy and some cool paintings on the wall behind the cashiers. It's pretty cool. The service here has always been pretty good as well. I can't remember ever having a problem with them aside from the occasional situation where I can't find anyone that works there but that happens to all stores like this I think. They get busy doing their job in other parts of the store and you just happen to be in the one part of the store where the employees aren't. That is hardly a big deal though because when you do find them they are super helpful. read more

I went into cal ranch today to get more 308 win rounds for my rifle and the woman behind the counter grabbed a box of 308 marlin express and of course you don't get to check out the ammo before buying it because they keep it behind the damn counter. Don't go to the guns and ammo section if the woman is working there. The guys that work there are great though. But now I'm out almost $30 because the woman is too incompetent to grab the right box or even double check if it's what i wanted. read more

Good selection of stuff but really really bad service! I was looking for some jewelry that was behind a locked glass case, the man working near there was socializing and flirting with two women. He wouldn't even look over at me. I stood there for probably 10 minutes to ask for the item before I finally interrupted their stupid non-work related conversation. Then he still didn't help saying I had to go to the register to get the key. Then they had to call someone to come open the case. My would have been 10 minute shopping experience turned into an hour shopping experience due to this mans lack of work ethic. I won't shop at this Cal Ranch again, if you are thinking of shopping there I would save time and head over to IFA. They hire more competent people! read more

This location is great to run in and grab things I need on occasion for my farm but I don't dare go in this store thinking I'm going to get help when I need help locating an item of any kind. This store is famous for having 4 cashiers standing around making every excuse why they can't leave their register even if you are the only customer in the store. Not a great store to go to when you want good customer service. I'm disappointed every time I go in but because it's close to where I live I continue to shop at this store and leave being upset due to the poor customer service. read more
