I had Nana as my nail technician. I came in to get a pedicure but ended up upgrading to a spa pedicure with the hot stone massage and leg mask option. I live an active lifestyle and can beat up my feet pretty badly. Nana took the time and the care on my feet that I desperately needed. She was slow and methodical to be precise in her cutting and trimming. I was able to fully enjoy the chair massage and not keep my eyes open because I had to keep checking her work. I recommend this spa and will continue to come in and ask for Nana. She was wonderful! read more

For walk-ins, expect to wait from anywhere from 5-10 minutes, not a long wait at all! This salon offers many services except for artistic nail art designs. I have been going to C&C for years. They used to be good, I would always leave happy with how my service was and happy with how my nails looked. Over the years though the service has gone downhill and last night was the third time in the last three times I went there that I walked out unhappy with how my nails looked. I kept giving C&C chances because they used to be so good but last night was the final straw. Some of my nails already look out grown, my my cuticles look horrible, not that my tech even touched them so I'm not sure why I paid so much for a Dip Manicure if I didn't really get a Manicure, and my nails just overall look terrible. My friend came with me and Calvin, the owner, cut her with the dremel nail file in three different spots making her bleed and didn't apologize once. NEVER AGAIN will I go there. read more

this place is pretty and clean and inviting , but they have one focus only, money. you walk in and first thing they say is pick a color. I sat down and the nail tech walks over and says it's going to be two dollars more for this nail polish because it last longer I said no give me the regular nail polish. mind u all of the polished are all together on the shelf , I get my nails done I go home, doing the normal stuff, no cleaning, i noticed the nail polish starts to chip off out of no where. I have been doing my nails for over 30 years. This is the first time that's ever happened I live in the neighborhood I have been at this place a few times.. because I continue to give them chances since they opened. i regret it every time. worst of all, they are very cold, they have no interest in being, kind, warm or friendly. When I first got a pedicure at this salon, it was done by a young girl who really took her time. My pedicure looked amazing and lasted quite a while. After getting my nails done many times there, each time got more disappointing. I raved about it to my sister and she got acrylics done there and they looked terrible. Each acrylic nail was obviously different sizes and shapes. Another time I went alone, the owner did my nails and wasn't even paying attention. She was looking around the salon the whole time and cut me. I was actually bleeding a good amount and she didn't seem fazed by it at all. They always are in a rush and make the experience less enjoyable. There are a few ladies there that I really like but some of the other ladies seem like they don't know what they're doing. My final straw with this place was when they started doing my acrylic nails while I was getting a pedicure. I like to enjoy each part of my salon experience separately and it wasn't the same when they are rushing and doing a crappy job on the nails and toes. Way better salons out there!!! read more

I love getting my nails done at C & C Nails. I've been a loyal customer for years. However, today is the last day I will set foot in there and give them another dime. I watched the owner of the salon Calvin scream and berate one of his employees for at least 20 minutes until the poor woman was in tears and left. He did this in front of all the customers that were there. You have a problem with an employee, you take them in private and talk to them. I have never felt uncomfortable in there ever before, but tonight I could not wait to leave. He is a horrible boss and person. Please do not go there and spread the word. read more

I will not be returning to the salon I had gotten a simple acrylic set, when my nails were getting filed I got cut numerous times and was told "your cuticles are just sensitive " then proceeded to cut me. It was my first time here and by far the best place I've gone to in NE Philly. I came in for a manicure and a eyebrow wax. As soon as I came in I was greeted and asked what I wanted to get done, as soon as I let them know they directed me to pic a color. Took me longer to pick a color than it took them to get me a chair haha. Manicure was great for an amazing price, I let my nails grow so she shaped them and didn't cut them to short which was wonderful.! I moved on to the eyebrow wax and that was fast and easy, really loved that she didn't thin my eyebrows like most places do but instead just cleaned them up and shaped them. Great experience and since I can get it done at work I'm pretty picky. Nice lady named Lynn fixed my ingrown with no problems. Great massage and my pedicure was awesome. Then I go to the tie dryer and another lady gave me a neck massage for a couple minutes FYI they need a tip jar for her because I already paid and was not expecting that treat at the end. Worst service ever!! I had to go back three times for them to fix my nails. The first time they chipped off. The second time they left the polish on from the last time and they came off. I have been going to C & C Nail Salon for about 5 years now and been very happy with their service until the pandemic hit. I only get a regular mani-pedi and bring my own polish all the time ~ OPI or Essie Gel POLISH, not acrylics or whatever and wondered why most recently the price went from $25 to $36 for both services! I just read in other reviews they are charging $5 extra because YOU bring YOUR polish? Excuse me? That's ridiculous. When I questioned the increase she just mumbled something about COVID. Yes, I realize they had to close for some period of time and lost money but an $11 increase is insane for a salon in the NE. That is why they lost a star. Otherwise I love the place, the hot stone massage is fantastic as well as the mini-massage while drying. I am handicapted and use a cane and they treat me with great care, especially during my cancer treatments when I was so sick but still trying to look decent. I see most complaints are about gel services, hey, I left that behind in the 90's, go with your real nails and use the above mentioned polishes, I swear they last a month, no chipping at all, and no damage to your nails. Another complaint I see is the "can only do square nails" ~ I must disagree, I don't like square ~ ask for SQUOVAL, that is a rounded shape at the tips. Today I'm going for my birthday mani-pedi and this time want the white "coffin/ballerina" shape ~ already uploaded a pic as an example for my girl whomever that may be. Also realize the girls may not be that good at English, be patient and nice and sweetly tell them exactly what you want and they have always worked with me. I find it to be clean and professional, the restroom is spotless, and in 5 years I have never had a problem other than this crazy price increase. Oh, as a business woman I get it but not the best way to attract let alone keep clients. I lived in Holland, Bucks County until 5 years ago and never paid more than $20 for a regular mani-pedi at a very exclusive salon in a wealthy area. C & C owners, this is NE Philadelphia, a very middle class area and most people coming there are not wealthy, please reconsider your price increase! And if you're charging for bringing my own polish, are you kidding? We're still in a pandemic, I've never wanted to use polish used on another person in my life, let alone now! And I'm talking my own base and top coat too, products I already paid over $30+ for. Sometimes that makes me wonder if that makes them think I have a lot of money, LOL ~ NO, not since I left my husband and moved back here! Be that as it may, still a great salon with awesome massage chairs and I always find myself zoning out during my visits and leave refreshed and renewed ~ we all need some ME TIME LOL !!! I'm curious, I also need a full body massage and wonder if they do that? I travel to get to this nailery in Northeast Philly, as it has great selection of color and services at reasonable prices. They have a therapist give you back massage while your nails dry, too! Bonus. This last time I was there, I got the 'dream pedicure' (hot rocks massage on legs and thickening warm gel to sink your tired toes into) and a regular manicure (not tips) and it was relaxing as well as quick ~ about an hour for both. The chairs have kneading massage and seem newer than a lot of places. It can get crowded but they have a really good customer service set up so I have never really had to wait long. There's a full parking lot so that is never an issue. I like this place because it's open and clean and they give you a little extra than most of the other nail joints do for the same low price. My aunt lives nearby and is a regular and they always greet her when she goes in. I am mostly a seasonal pedicure person but this is the place I like to go best if I have time. read more

I went here for the first time to get a manicure & pedicure done for a wedding I was in over the weekend. I called and scheduled an appointment which I was happy that I did because it was pretty crowded inside. As soon as i walked in I was greeted and the lady who was doing my nails came over and helped me pick out the color that I was looking for and i taken to my chair right away where everything was already set up. The lady did a phenomenal job and they also give free 10 minute massage while I was sitting under the fan waiting for my nails to dry. I have been going there for a while. At first they we good and reasonable. Now they charge for ripping you nails off. I tried the pink and white French tip in September. They get refilled ever two weeks. We it was so think my fingers looked like chicklettes for the first two weeks. I go back for the refill and they looked better after they where filed down but the girl refused to cut my cuticles..He boss made her. She changed me an extra 5$. I didn't tip her. I rent back again today to gave the pink n white removed and dip nails done. He took a piece of plastic and prayed the stuff off. My long nails are now down to my finger tips, and they charged me $5 to do it. The dip nails are a joke. The color is not the same bc he used jell nails on top or idk bc it took for ever to dry. I gave them three tries bc covid has every one struggling but I will not go back. You can't talk to people there. I tired the last time and I was charged an extra fee. I hate my short orange nails that the paint is messed up. You don't paint dip nails people. When your done with the drip your done. They just don't know what there doing anymore read more

Terrible! The pedicure person told me my feet were dry but she wasn't allowed to use a certain tool on me because I didn't get a deluxe pedicure (the tool she pointed to was a simple tool that I have at home). The gel nail color DID NOT match my toe nail polish, and so, they had to take off my new full set of gel nails and replace with another color that STILL DID NOT MATCH. So now I have two different colors on my nails & feet! They rushed through both my services and I'm not happy either my pedicure or gel manicure. Don't go here!!! read more

Well, I learned something today. Northeast Philly has a gem and I'm not afraid to share it. I had off from work today. Way behind on my up keep. I ran a 10 mile race yesterday and was feeling pretty beat up. I needed a mani/pedi. My normal spot is Old City Nails. I was crashing at my BF's and drove by C&C on my way into the city and thought, "why not"? BEST. DECISION. EVER. I always thought I was getting a deal at Old City with mani/pedi/eyebrow wax for $32. Well, hold onto your hats. I had a pedicure with a looooonnnnggggg foot rubbins which included hotstones. Massage chair going simulataniously, I thought "whatever they charge me, I'll gladly pay". I was jello by the end.Got my eyebrows done next which is cool so I'm not so red on my way out. Move on to manicure. Relaxing, and she did a phenominal job. I go to pay and it was $31. A dollar less than Old City. Super happy with this score, I settle my bill, tip a bunch, finish the manicure and I was taken to the drying area where I then recieved a back and shoulder massage!!! WTH?? What did I do to deserve this? I got so much more than I am used to for a dollar less and no worries of finding/paying for parking. I'm sorry Old City Nails, you lost me. Forever. Let me begin by saying I never write reviews and didn't even have a yelp account, but after what I experienced today at this "business" I was compelled to share it. I was getting a manicure today when a woman next to me was just finishing her pedicure. When she went to go pay, she handed the employee a gift certificate with a balance of 5 dollars. The employee told the woman it was "expired" and called over a male employee to tell her she couldn't put the whopping 5 dollars toward her pedicure and had to pay the full price. The customer simply asked in a calm, polite manner why he had signed and dated the gift certificate next to the balance at her prior visit if he weren't going to let her use it again. What I witnessed next was absolutely outrageous. He began SCREAMING at the customer telling her she had to pay the full price, no exceptions. He was literally yelling at the top of his lungs when he knocked over a display on top of the nail dryers. He then proceeded to stand in front of all the customers getting pedicures to "explain" why the customer was wrong and why he "had the right" to be so angry. When I say this man was screaming, I mean literally acting like a crazy person. All of this over 5 dollars the woman already paid--remember this was a gift certificate, not a coupon. They had their money. They were refusing to honor the certificate because of a handwritten expiration date on it (which I later found out is illegal in PA) When the woman paid the full price and left, all the employees began their chitter chatter as if she were the crazy one. This experience was unlike anything I've ever seen. I lost all respect for every single person that works there and how they handle their business. How dare an employee try to embarrass a customer in front of the entire "salon" for an honest question when she was in the right. Even if he did not agree, the way he acted was indescribable. Needless to say, I will never be returning to this crap hole ever again and will make sure none of my friends do either. There are plenty of places in the Northeast Philadelphia area that do a better job for an even cheaper price. Don't waste your time or money on these rude people who don't know the first thing about running a business or customer service. read more

I came here for the first time a few days ago, in dire need of eyebrow work. It had been quite a while and my eyebrows were a furry hot mess.. Anyway. Not sure how great they are in the nail department BUT if you're looking to have your eyebrows done, I definitely recommend this place. I'm very particular about my eyebrows and the lady (Eve) listened to my preferences and was patient with me as I went on and on about what I needed. After hearing good things about this place I drove over Friday afternoon with high hopes. It was busy but there were plenty of staff so no waiting. I was brought to a pedicure station and my tech got to work. Decent trimming, exfoliation, and massage. Pretty much a basic pedicure with some hot stones added (not really mind blowing though they were out for 2 mins). I opted for a simple design and it came out rather awful. My mani was ok, nothing to write home about. I thought this nail salon would really stand out but in the end it was pretty run if the mill. Even when it's packed (which it usually is) this place is good. Very quick and clean which is hard to find. They're gentle but effective. I've gotten eyebrows and a manicure here. Check out the cute little nail decals because they always turn out super well! The only legit criticism I have for C&C is their eyebrow care. I have bled twice, but I've been here loads of times. I don't like when they do my brows too thin which happens quite often. You really have to say you only want your brows cleaned up if you don't want 2/3rds ripped off. I've known Coco, the owner, since she started out down next to Shop Rite in Morrell Plaza. This woman is nothing but hard working, pleasant & welcoming to all & is why I followed her. She's grown her business over the years with her super-awesome husband & I could not be more happy for them both!! They are not only business owners, but a staple in our very own community. Yes, that's right, they live right here with us in East Torresdale & care about the locals as well as the visitors from all over. I always have a great experience & now my husband comes along as well. He felt weird as a man going in, but Coco & her husband made him feel so comfortable that he now asks ME to go get our feet done!!!!
