Well I used your service in past for my son's jeep and I would normally give 5 stars but tonight at 10 pm, 1 driver for the company was over the line of the stop sign, their trucks sit way higher than my Honda and he was mad yelled at me because it was wrong. He had very bright lights and i was in the middle but I was turning onto my street, was flashing a light like an officer and automatically stated I was wrong and I looked drunk. 1st I havent been intoxicated since I was 25yrs old. Ex military okd habit. I am tired and 58 yrs old. He threatened police and took my plate down. Fine find out but I don't drink. He did not know that I try to give positive reviews. I called his company and they sd they would talk with him. Sorry for the less than positive review. This is only for one drivers aggressive behavior and written so I can excuse it. They are pricier than most because they have lots of trucks and fuel is costly these days. I hope to have better experiences in the near future but please don't send him to our street any longer. And he did the other day on the freeway, and I was just super grateful and never thought how much these guys actually risk their lives to be captain. Save a ho for girls like me. Fundamentally *unreliable* -- which is exactly what you don't want when you're stranded. Because they've got a virtual monopoly on certain regions when they're contacted via AAA, they have very little incentive to care, and it certainly shows. Arrived so fast when I called for roadside assistance last night after Ash Wednesday mass at St. Thérèsa's in Del Mar - My car did not start which for 2 seniors out after dark was pretty upsetting. So I hit something on the highway, which detached the front end of the skid plate. The thin sheet of plastic under your front end that protects against splashed water, salt, etc. This job necessitated rolling yourself under the front end and simply either reattaching or de attaching the entire piece either way would've been fine. First of all, he didn't bring a jack. Second of all, not to be rude, but this was one FAT dude that was no way going to fit under the front end without a jack! When I asked him if I could borrow a screwdriver because I felt I could fit under he responded with "I don't have any tools". He zip tied one end up and left. The car was just as undrivable as it was when he got there. I'm a 67-year-old grandma that went across the street to a neighbor, borrowed a screwdriver, got under the car unscrewed this plate and threw it in the trash. Here's my advice. Do not use these people and have AAA send them to you like they did to me, just roll your sleeves up! read more

I am extremely pleased with the service provided. My tesla was completely dead and I needed it towed to a supercharger. Derrick was able to charge the 12 volt then get the car onto the flat bed and tow it to the supercharger and also help back the car Into a tight spot. This is one of the most heartbreaking experiences of our lives. On 8/26/23 we booked a tow through AAA for our new 5th wheel of which we were planning on living full time. We have sold our place and escrow closes on 9/18. I scheduled through AAA a tow with Big Z however the day of the tow C&D somehow got the contract from Big Z and showed asking me to pay for an additional 2 hours at $180/hour. AAA covers $500 when a premier member. The tow was only 48 miles! The operator seemed inexperienced when rigging the support plate for the 5th wheel. It took several calls to someone on the phone to get it right. This took 30 minutes. I asked the driver if they had the GPS for big rigs so that he wouldn't get into a situation where he couldn't avoid obstacles? I noted that there were some roads leading up to the property were narrow and he should follow the big rig GPS to avoid. Upon arrival at the destination and the driver seemed to be unaware of any damage until I started pointing out all the damage. His comment to me was "we damage things all the time, the owner will take care of it. He doesn't like to use insurance so he will repair it in his shop". I can't describe the feeling of rage in hearing such a non professional response to such serious damage to our property. I even told this person before he left to take care of our new home. As I write this (8/29/23) I still haven't heard from C&D Towing. I have filled a complaint through AAA. My wife and I are devastated. We will be homeless as of 9/18/23. If I were you and I saw this company coming to tow your vehicle I would refuse. read more

Thought I just needed to replace the car battery, but turns out it was the Alternator! Tommy was so lovely and had actually told me that my alternator was taking all the juice out from my battery when all this time I just thought I needed to replace it. Not sure why the other two men who came and looked at it said nothing :( Tommy was even kind enough to follow me home just in case my car was gonna break down again. Their service felt more like a car jacking than anything helpful. They turned up at an accident before the police, had the car loaded before we could say anything. Then gave us the incorrect location of our vehicle, calls for information went unreturned. I'm sure they intentionally slowed the entire process so they could collect additional fees. At 9:50 PM I had a flat tire. Aaa dispatched them. But they said it would take 90 minutes. Thankfully, a man took pity on me and changed my tire. 90 minutes for a woman of 70 yr. to wait by her car in the dark is unacceptable. Don't ask this company to come quickly. It won't happen. read more

AAA sent C&D Towing to me as a contractor for battery replacement services. C&D installed a new battery for $218.00. Everything seemed fine at first. When I took my car to a BMW mechanic to reset the battery, he immediately noticed the replacement wasn't the correct type. I later confirmed this with other mechanics, multiple auto parts stores, and two dealerships. I requested a replacement battery from AAA. Lo and behold, AAA dispatched the same technician/company to me the next day. The technician stated the battery was the appropriate size and type because "it's what came up under the search results for my car make/model on his mobile app." He pulled out a larger battery and said, "This is the size you think you need?! That won't fit in your car!" which was an outright lie based on the answers I had collected. I'm pretty sure he just picked up a random battery in his truck bed. He said that he even "cut me a deal" for the [incorrect] battery he installed, and that he can't tell his boss "because he'll get in trouble." I asked the technician to call his supervisor to request a replacement. The technician said his supervisor refused a replacement as all the battery options provided in the mobile app "technically fit" my car make and model. I called AAA and requested reimbursement immediately after, only to be told a refund wasn't guaranteed and could take up to four weeks for a response. The next day, I went into a local office and was told the same thing -- fill out paperwork and wait for a decision. As a longtime AAA customer, I left disappointed. Now, not only am I stuck with the wrong battery, I was charged nearly $100.00 more than current MSRP ($130.00) for a battery I did NOT need. The issue wasn't resolved and AAA simply said, "Maybe you'll get your money back?" I have since disputed the charges with my bank and have cancelled my AAA membership. Buckle up. This is going to be long. My father-in-law passed away two months ago and my husband inherited his 1977 Chevy. On Tuesday, we had it towed from his former residence to our house on a flatbed truck. Unfortunately, the tow truck wasn't able to get his flatbed up our steep drive, so the truck was left on the street. Since the truck is PNO, it can't be left there. So, the drive told us to call for a second tow and request a wheel lift truck, which I did. C&D Towing responded to the request but they didn't have a wheel lift available. So, the woman I spoke with told me to request another tow in the morning and they would send a wheel lift. Great! I called OnStar and AAA, who was subcontracted for the roadside assistance. Everyone approved this plan. This morning, I requested the tow. C&D accidentally sent a flatbed. So I called the office, explained the situation again and was told "we can't do that." I explained that they could and it was already approved by OnStar. I was transferred to a manager who was clearly adamant to just say no and had zero interest in attempting to help remedy the situation. All he could seem to do was argue. I will admit that I allowed my frustration and grief to get the better of me and ended the call with some choice words. However, I don't understand how a company can tell me one thing and then 12 hours later, tell me something completely different. I called OnStar again. They approved the tow and we will be using a different tow company. TL;DR If you're expecting compassion and for someone to work with you, this isn't the company for you. Trust is important, especially when dealing with something valuable like a vehicle. I wouldn't trust this company. (Read the other negative reviews. I had called my AAA for a towing and to find out because they heard accident and insurance they took it upon themselves to cancel AAA and leave it as an insurance claim to collect extra money. What if I wouldn't have had insurance and got billed $580 that they billed my insurance, who was gonna pay that. When I called and asked why they did that they said I had agreed to that which a complete lie. How is a tow of 6 miles going to be $580!! When I called to get an estimate on another towing they said it would be $300 based on a 10mile radius. They're just looking for a payout. Once AAA is canceled there is no charging them back. So good thing I did have insurance or I would have been screwed over with $580. Don't trust the tow drivers they recommend shops that they give cuts to so they can recommend each other. My police report even states called came through AAA so there's nothing this company can say to justify there actions. FYI you can make a claim on your insurance company to file a complaint so they don't call them and have a report against them. My estimated tow time was 36 mins and turn out to be over an hour 1/2. read more

This was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had with any company, let alone a towing service. First off, I never received a single call from them about the status. It felt like they were purposely keeping me in the dark so they could charge me $50 a day just for storing my vehicle. I tried to get in touch with a manager named David for FOUR days--emails, phone calls, voicemails, even asking the front desk to let him know I was trying to reach him. I got absolutely nothing in return. When I asked the front desk employee to see an invoice, he looked completely lost and literally didn't know what an invoice was. No clue what was going on. When I finally managed to track down David's work schedule and showed up to speak with him in person (because clearly that's the only way), he was visibly irritated that I knew when he worked. Well, Dave--if you don't respond to calls or emails, what do you expect? To make things worse, when I got my car back, the rim was bent and the tire was popped. The bare minimum I expected was that they'd at least put the spare tire on--but no. When I asked David about it, he literally laughed and said, "We don't do stuff like that here." Just complete disregard. Eventually, he knocked a few hundred dollars off the original $2,000 bill, but even then, he said I should come back the next morning to get the tire situation handled--because he wanted one of his mechanics to do it. The only decent person I encountered the entire time was that mechanic, who actually helped me install the spare and even recommended some places to get the damage fixed. Now I'm leaving the lot with a spare tire on the back left, and the back right tire is rubbing against the frame and brake rotor--damage caused by the way they moved the car. Bottom line: This company will drain you for every dollar they can, take no responsibility, and treat you like you're the problem. Avoid them at all costs. read more

But in 10 minutes AAA sent a guy with a battery. He tested the battery. And wow replaced in in almost no time at all. He explained the test and the warranty. Even made sure everything worked in the car (radio and clock) before I drove away. Professional and helpful. It's the little things in life. First off, If I could give negative ratings I would. I called to have one of my broken down trucks towed from Mira Mesa to Lakeside CA. I was given at ETA of 1-1.5hrs for arrival. No problem, we will wait. After 2 hours I called for an update on the tow and the staff all seemed to act like they knew nothing about it. Once they finally found the work order, I was told that their tow trucks had to go to a different job so I was pushed to the bottom of the priority list. What kind of company does this!? Poor customer service. I spoke to the manager David who could care less about helping resolve the issue. I had this company saved in my preferred service suppliers because they helped us once in the past. Never again! Stay away from companies who offer poor customer service and no resolution. Easily one of the shadiest experience in towing i've ever seen. This company did not take the liberty to actually contact the owner of the vehicle it towed and instead allowed it to occur time in its lot (230$ and hour) and then denied the people authorized to release the vehicle the proper access. The vehicle in question sat in the lot a day extra than necessary because of the staff's unwillingness to accept various types of authorization ,and ID that have been acceptable in several other impound lots. Not only that, what if the owner of the vehicle were out of town? stricken with COVID? immobilized? Would this shady, uncivil conduct have led to the car going to aution!? i'm just glad they stole nothing, thankful they appear to have kept the car in working condition but it wouldnt be outside the possibility. Wow. Grade A Con Artists. I can't begin to explain the level of unprofessionalism from this company i'm actually amazed. First tow truck driver arrives (This kid is like 20 or something, no experience clearly) He begins to tow my expensive BMW M3 up on his trailer, this kid SNAPPED my tow hook cover in half! When I began to ask how he did that, he said "I thought the clamp was on the left side like most cars" MOST CARS? What kind of excuse is that. Anyways, I assumed this would be taken care of because, why not they broke it right? He makes me sign a damage waiver AFTER he already broke my tow hook cover and lied to me and said this is just incase I scrape the bumper etc. When I called to hash out this situation, the manager gave not even an inch of remorse, not a single apology to the situation leading to me being very frustrated at how you can possibly mess up this bad and not even give your customer a sense of security that they trusted you. Had a flat in I 60. I was with my wife and two children (toddler and infant) and I saw that AAA was going to take 38 minutes to arrive. I said, he'll I'll do it myself. It's 104 degrees I need to get my kids home. I cancel the request and set to doing it myself when I get a call from Jesus. He says he's three minutes out. I say I just canceled the request. We agree that I should resubmit the request and I do. Jesus shows up, he then asks me to get out the spare. This is odd, but I like being helpful and Jesus was helping me. So I get in the dirt and get out the spare. When I come back around Jesus is jacking up my car using the body as opposed to the frame. The step board for my Suburban is flexed 6 inches at this point. I say to Jesus that's not right. He assures me it is and then adjusts thr jack to the frame of the truck. Replaces the tire. Jesus then apologized to me for the damage and I told him i will have to mention it to AAA. Tells me not to worry about it that they will judt take it out of his pay. Well, turns out what Jesus would do is pretend that we discussed that there was no damage and that everything was fine. I'm still waiting for their "management" to call. I am not optimistic. Horrible service! Called 5:17pm on 7/25/23 needing a car towed from my home to a dealership. Unfortunately, there was a strict timeline where I needed the car delivered by 8pm. I was assured service by a gentleman and told that the timeframe would be 30-45 minutes to get the tow truck. I called back at 6:15pm asking for an ETA, I was greeted by a lady that assumed I was AAA and told me I couldn't get serviced. After I explained I was residential, she told me that my previous tow truck was intercepted and could no longer meet the timeline. She assured that I can get another in 30 minutes. Naturally, I asked for certainty and she responded "well it's clear you don't believe me, so I don't know what to tell you." Lol She sucks, C/D Towing sucks. My battery died and AAA led me to C&D. I worked with both Zack and Fadi on two separate occasions, and both were lovely! They were timely, kind, and informative. Zack jumped my car for me and gave me specific instructions on how to get it charged. It ended up being a dead battery, but Fadi came over and replace the battery the next day. I even got a courtesy call from someone at C&D when the original ETA was going to be delayed. Very impressed and happy they work with AAA. read more
