Went through the Fridgidaire website to place a request for repair for our refrigerator which was on extended Warrenty. Since this was the third time we were requesting service we requested Fridgidaire do not assign us to the same repair service we had used the previous times for this same repair. (Door water dispenser continuously leaks after shutoff). They sent the authorized warranty repair order to C&E Appliance Repair. They called within a couple of days and I was able to make an appointment. Repairman came in and diagnosed the problem, ordered the part needed, and when the part came in, he installed the part and leak issue was solved. He explained the issue and we were done. Very satisfied. The scheduling office is also very accommodating to our schedules. Highly recommend them. read more

unfortunately zero stars is not an option. that Bosch has them as an authorized provider is a huge problem. everything negative you'll find in the reviews are true. missed appointments, rude staff, and incompetence as well. they will "upcharge" parts (example a $99 part from Bosch increased to $200)). the technician came completely unprepared and failed to even find the tags inside the oven, it was right there. Extremely Dangerous Service - Gas Leak Ignored & False Report Filed I am writing to report an egregious, dangerous, and potentially fraudulent series of failures by C&E Appliance Service that endangered my tenant and property. This involves a brand new Frigidaire gas range (purchased 8/27/2025, delivered 9/2/2025). Documented Timeline of Negligence: November 25, 2025:​ Due to a confirmed gas leak, the Southern Connecticut Gas Company and the Fire Department​ responded, officially red-tagging the range as "unsafe" and "defective." December 15, 2025:​ Despite the official "unsafe" tag, C&E sent technician Manny. His gas detector was non-functional (dead batteries). He performed work, turned the gas on, and left while a gas odor was present. He then filed a false report​ stating the repair was successful and that I requested a new range. December 18, 2025:​ The gas company returned for a required safety inspection. Their technician issued a new tag with the definitive finding: "Stove is leaking, needs to be replaced, left off and safe."​ This confirms C&E's repair failed entirely and the unit is beyond repair. Summary of C&E's Unconscionable Failures: Ignored Official "Unsafe" Tags:​ Dispatched a technician to a unit officially condemned by the gas company and Fire Department. Reckless Endangerment:​ Technician worked on a known gas leak without a functioning gas detector. Created Imminent Danger:​ Re-energized a gas line to a condemned appliance, reintroducing a leak hazard. Fraudulent Reporting:​ Filed a false service report to close a job dishonestly. Complete Professional Failure:​ The appliance was conclusively deemed to "needs to be replaced" by the gas company immediately after C&E's "repair." Demands for Resolution: Immediate notification to Frigidaire​ that their authorized servicer, C&E, ignored official safety tags, worked without proper equipment, and filed a fraudulent report. I demand that Frigidaire authorize a full unit replacement​ based on the gas company's conclusive finding that it "needs to be replaced." Guarantee that C&E Appliance Service​ will have no further involvement​ with this case. A replacement or any future service must be handled by a different, certified provider. A full, written explanation from C&E​ of the corrective actions they will take to prevent this willful negligence from endangering another household. A formal complaint detailing this entire incident, including the fraudulent service report and the gas company's findings, has been filed with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. Frigidaire and the relevant local authorities will also be formally notified of this safety breach. Five weeks, two service calls and $240.46 later for what amounted for a single washer. I was referred to C&E through the Electrolux authorized service center. My dishwasher functioned perfectly except one day the door would not close or open all the way. I called and explained the situation and arranged for a repair five days later. They were only in my area on Wednesdays. Got a call the day before with a three-hour window for service. They arrived as promised. I showed the tech and explained the background. I explained I found a small washer on the floor earlier but I couldn't guarantee it was from the dishwasher. I also showed him a gasket on the inside door which was starting to come out of the setting which may have caused the door to malfunction. He took the door off and placed it back on the hinge. It opened and closed fine. He said he would look into gasket replacement and door hinge repair kit and would get back to me. He was here for 20 minutes. Three weeks went by with several calls to the office for updates. I was told they ordered parts, they couldn't find the parts, the gasket was only sold in sets for $220, they were waiting for parts, I had to buy a whole new door. Finally, I called and said I did not want the gasket set and I would use the old one. It was then that they miraculously received the "door Hinge" kit and would be out the following Wednesday. The tech came out, took a single washer out of a multiple pack and put it on the door. He was here for less than fifteen minutes. He did and would not put the old gasket back on. I did it myself as I should have researched the whole repair on You-tube. C & E already charged me $179 service call which covered the first hour of labor. They charged an additional $50 and $20 for labor and a door hinge repair kit. I called to review the charges. I explained I did not get a door hinge repair kit and there was less than a full hour total spent on the slipshod repair. The woman insisted I received the kit which amounted to the assorted washer kit. She reluctantly credited my card for $25 dollars with an attitude and said they would drop off the assorted washers in my mailbox the next Wednesday. To date, I have not gotten said washers. I don't mind paying my fair share but what I really don't like is being taken advantage of. Do yourself a favor and avoid using this company if you're looking for honest repair work. read more

I have used C & E Appliance service for my Whirlpool appliances several times and have been very pleased with the quality of the service techs they have. Each of my Whirlpool appliances have required service within the 5 years since they were purchased. Justin, Kevin and Brandon are all very pleasant, arrived on time and are very knowledgeable. Each has given me some hints/tips related to the appliance they serviced. The women in the office unfortunately don't return calls promptly, and don't share pictures of the issues with the techs, even though they ask for pictures and serial numbers of the appliance to be serviced. That is frustrating and has happened on 2 separate occasions. 4 Stars instead of 5 because of my experience with the office staff. The techs - 5 / 5 stars. I have never recieved such terrible service than I have from this company. They were at our house fixing a 2 month old appliance. The dryer kept shutting off mid cycle. Sadly they are the only local company authorize to service Frigidaire. The man came in checked it, said it needed a part, came back 1 week later. Now one more week later, the dryer is doing the same thing. I called and they refusing to come back and are saying it's the vent pipe. Then the woman that answered the phone HUNG UP ON ME WHILE I WAS STILL TALKING!!! I couldn't believe it!! Sadly, I dont have any names. Mike from C&E Appliance Service is excellent! Our Bosch wall oven wasn't heating consistently; we had Bosch factory service in, and after an exorbitant charge and minimal assessment, they quoted a half dozen parts for $2k plus needing replacement. Mike came in, spent a lot of time testing and checking every component, determined that the problem wasn't anything to do with those components which tested perfectly. He then made a minor adjustment, perfect ever since - at minimal cost! More recently our main freezer died, and he not only replaced the failed components, but was extremely reasonable. They, "Mike" didn't even show up even though they called me the morning of. When I called their office when the repair main didn't come, their office was closed with no message machine or anything. Frigidaire's budget warranty company. Lowes dispatched this company to inspect a washing machine and the representative that came to check it out said it would need to be replaced. Lowe's tells me to contact if I don't receive my e-gift card with my reimbursement to buy a new washing machine. I wait the 2 business days and nothing. I contact and apparently my refund was sent to an email that's definitely not mine, has never been mine or of anyone's around me. I have now been in a back and forth trying to get MY refund to get a working washing machine for a month. I believe someone from this company stole my refund from me by putting in their own email. Couldn't be happier with my experience with C & E Appliance Service. I scheduled an appointment through the Frigidaire website for next day service on my refrigertor. Frigidaire sent me an email confirmation and suggested I call C & E to confirm. Glad I did. Apparently scheduling through Frigidaire only gets you into the system. You need to schedule your appointment directly with C & E. Good to know! Bad news... unfortunately their first available wasn't until the following week. Good news... they knew what my problem was and assured me the repair technician would have the replacement part with him. They called me the day before my appointment with my 3 hour time window. The techinician Kevin called me when he was on his way and gave me an eta. He arrived when he said he would, took out the damaged part, replaced it, gave me some information on why it happened, and was on his way within about 10-15 minutes. The refrigerator works like a charm again. We had two horrible experiences with repair companies for two other appliances we purchased from Lowes. One company never showed for the scheduled appointment time - scheduled with them twice. The other company came for an issue with another appliance, needed to order the part, and never came back. In both instances we had to pay for a private repair service. That is the drawback of ordering appliances from places like Lowes & Home Depot - if you have an issue, you are limited to the service companies they subcontract with. So to say that I was happy with my etire experience with Kevin & C & E Appliance Service is an understatement. Dealt with Justin and Lauren and got great service every. single. time. I don't know what people are talking about. This is a company that likely has ten of thousands of calls every year, and if a bunch of reviews are bad experiences, that's a fraction of the good ones. That means that somewhere around 80% of their other jobs are successful. But, as we know, people tell 100 people about a bad experience, and only 2 about a good one. While my situation took weeks to figure out, we chalk it up to horrible Whirlpool manufacturing, that thrives on planned obsolescence. A 6 year-old $2,000 fridge with ongoing problems is not C&E's fault. And we knew that going in. Prompt, friendly service from Justin, and great service from Lauren. I highly recommend. Just be patient. These are tough times for everyone. Be grateful that you even have food and fridge. Think about what others are going through. read more

We had an electrical malfunction in our home that blew out our double and microwave ovens. Scheduling was within reasonable expectation and the office staff very polite. The microwave arrived first and Brad came out to the house. He was courteous, professional and punctual. We had an excellent installation experience! Later arrived our double oven. C & E came back out in the evening and did another install in a tricky place at that! if I could pick less than 1 star I would. The dishwasher technician came to my house six weeks ago and told me nothing was wrong with my dishwasher that won't drain. He suggested throwing in some tablets and seeing how it went and charged me $180. I just called again to tell them their technician was wrong -- I've been using the tablets religiously and the dishwasher still won't drain without me bailing out the water. They were not willing to send the tech again for the original $180. As a one-time exception I was offered a lower $100 fee for my next service call. No thanks C&E. You never diagnosed my issue, never fixed it, and now won't make good on it. Terrible service all around. read more

After scheduling an appointment online through Whirlpool, I received a voicemail from C&E a day or two later saying that they'd "already closed out the schedule" for the 7th and had rescheduled me for the 12th. I made four phone calls, none of which were picked up, and left two messages, neither of which were returned. C&E is the designated subcontractor this year for the Sears Master Protection Plan for my Sears refrigerator, which provides an annual preventive maintenance call. In fairness to C&E, the Sears CSR didn't know what days C&E provides service in my geographic area (only Thursdays), so he committed to a day that C&E couldn't accomodate. When I talked to the C&E representative, I got an appointment on the next Thursday that worked for them and for me and, as they promised, they did call the day before to tell me what the time window would be for the service call. The C&E tech called me on Thurs AM and gave me a more specific arrival time and he came at that time. Justin checked the seals and the temperatures, and also indicated why we may be hearing a humming periodically--we had accidentally turned on the ice maker unit--and he turned it off. He pulled out the refrigerator and vaccumed the coils and carefully put the refrigerator back into place. Overall, dealing with C&E was very good and their service tech was outstanding! read more

The first thing I will say is that I didn't choose C&E Appliance. Somebody else, my retailer or the manufacturer, I still don't know which, chose them for me. Getting appointments is not easy. After a wait, the first time C&E showed up the tech had no idea why he was there and effectively he learned what everyone involved in this process already knew, the fan blower needed replacing. So now that needs to be ordered. But where do they ship it? To there facility so they can show up with the part when ready? No, to my house which is essentially a construction zone and packages and boxes are left everywhere by contractors and delivery men. So now they're contacting me to make an appointment but not until I can locate this package. Finally it's found in my garage and they set the appointment. On the day of the appt at 4pm, at the end of the stated window they call to say they cant make the appointment. The next day the office calls back to say I have to wait another week for the tech to come out even though it was C&E that missed the appointment because of overbooking. Let that sink in. They missed the appointment and now I have to wait. I have been dealing with them for months and my repair is still not complete. 2 stars because the techs are cool when they are on site. read more

They dispatched C&E , besides poor customer service (they hung up on my husband) as he was explaining that we have been without a washer for 6 weeks waiting for parts. &E Appliance in CT is terrible. They are Sears Repair specialist and they were called to fix a refrigerator. After replacing 3 parts and 5 visits the refrigerator was still not working. Sears sent their repair person and it Sears said it was bad work on behalf of C&E Appliance. They installed a new compressor but did not clean out the lines after soldering. The Sears guy said it was a shortcut or missed step and this is after they came back because they forgot to hook up the fan. Don't do Business with C&E for Refrigerators!!!! read more

Change in review. I had previously given this company a generously good review. I have since changed my opinion. Although they did send someone out to repair my microwave and claimed that they had worked out coverage through Frigidaire. This is apparently not the case. They obviously used a used part, after Weeks on back order awaiting a "new" part. This part then broke again within a couple of weeks. When I called back they reported that Frigidaire was not covering my original part replacement and that I now had to pay for that part plus all the service fees. It's a total scam. read more

I scheduled service with C&E through the warranty on my Maytag washer, and then read the other reviews here and got a little worried. However, these guys were great! Scheduling was easy. The technicians who showed up were friendly, knowledgeable, and arrived with parts in hand for what their initial guess was about what was wrong with my washing machine. They wound up not needing the part - it was something else that they were able to fix right in one visit - but I was still impressed that they were so prepared without needing to jump through a bunch of hoops to get that part first. They fixed my machine and explained what was wrong (with pictures!). No complaints at all here! read more
