I was so hopeful that I had found a resource for home appliance repairs. Sadly, this was not the answer. The installation of an in freezer ice machine lead to a ceiling leak and the need for Emergency Services from Plumbers. I would have appreciated drama free services, support during the drama, or an offer to cover the additional expense to fix the problem/drama created in the installation of the ice machine. 7/21/22 A&A Appliance Service deserves 10 stars in my book. I called them up and got a quick response to my voice mail. I spoke with Rick, the sole owner/serviceman of the business. I explained that the electronic control panel that controls everything on my GE refrigerator-freezer was showing all sorts of wonky symbols and the refrigerator wasn't working, though the compressor was attempting to kick on. He apologized but couldn't make it to my home that day. He said I might try another repair business but they're all swamped this time of year. He said he could come the following day and I told him fine. At his request, I took a photo of the serial number of the refrigerator and texted it to him so he could have the part overnighted, and said he'd be here as early as possible the next day. No problem there. I set about emptying the freezer-refrigerator to bring the food to a backup I have in my basement. I was lucky for that or I'd have had a LOT of expensive meats and goods to replace. He came mid-morning the next day, made the repair, and even ordered some replacement water filters to be delivered to my home to replace the original one! Now THAT'S service. If you've got an appliance that needs service in the New Haven, North Haven, Wallingford or Cheshire areas, I'd very highly recommend A&A Appliance Service. read more

I contacted RIck, the owner of A&A Appliance for a broken refrigerator. He responded quickly and repaired the refrigerator at a reasonable price. A part had to be ordered, but he returned the next day to quickly finish the job. We are grateful that he was able to fix the problem in a timely manner with great customer service. I've used Rick twice since my original review, both times for repairs to my dryer. I contacted him recently for an issue with my mom's washing machine. He returned my call within a day and was able to troubleshoot with me about the source of the leak that was occurring. He quickly identified that it was most likely a plumbing issue stemming from the water lines leading to the washing machine and not the machine itself and referred me to a local plumber who he had positive recommendations for. I utilized his suggestion and the problem was remedied later that day. Any other repair person could have and probably would have not been honest and came out for a knowingly unnecessary repair. His honesty speaks volumes and I will always have him as my repair person for any appliance issues. read more

I made myself a big problem when I tried to fix my broken ice maker in our Frigidaire. I somehow managed to freeze the control panel, shut down the fridge and freezer and, for good measure, water began pouring out of the door dispenser and refused to stop. I called Rick, who we had used before on our clothes dryer. He just happened to be in our neighborhood at the time (talk about luck!) and was here 5 minutes later. Have used Rick for repairs twice now, and he has been terrific. At one point, my tenant was not well so he didn't answer the door. I tried to pay Rick for showing up and having to wait outside to no avail. He absolutely would not take the money but returned a few days later to service the washing machine and fixed it the same day because he had the part on hand. It doesn't get much better than this.
