So, I called Yellow Cab for a ride home. The price was about what I expected, but the cab was clean, and the driver was well-dressed and conversational, without being pushy. He got me home by the most direct route, and helped unload the groceries -- at least as far as the back porch. It wasn't until I took the same cab company from the Beach to the airport and was charged a flat fee of $50 that I realized I had been swindled by my first cab driver. The second driver told me that the ones at the airport do that all the time. They took me way out of the way and charged me more. I was following the route on GPS and didn't really say anything because I assume the cab driver would know better than me. In the future, call ahead and have one from the city come out and pick you up because the ones that are there will screw you over. The cab driver that took me to the airport who was affiliated with a different branch of Gator Cabs was great and should get 5 stars.
