    S-N-S Remodeling

I'm very pleased with my bathroom remodel by S-N-S Remodeling, Dan Shannon, and his highly capable…read morecrew. I needed a lot of advice on how to maximize the use of this very small space and Dan really hit the ball out of the park on this project. Besides age, space, and lighting, a big issue we had was that the shower was recessed about 6 inches into the foundation and also had a dropped ceiling. We did not know what, if anything, was inside the drop. Dan found that the dropped ceiling was just empty, unused space and added that back into the shower compartment. He also added a much needed in-shower light. He brought the floor of the shower up to be appropriately level to the floor which was something we really wanted as stepping into and out of that dark, wet 6-inch recess was sometimes treacherous. Dan's excellent planning provided us with about 3 or 4 more inches of much needed counter top space without making the room feel crowded. The very well-made custom cabinetry exceeded my expectations. Dan's use of recessed lighting, a low profile toilet, a custom-made cabinet above the toilet, and the larger tiles with fewer grout lines all contribute to maximizing the use and the feel of the very limited space in this room. The tile work is just beautiful. Every tile was cut and every edge was hand-beveled on-site as needed for a perfect fit and finish. The paint was sprayed so is very smooth and even. And, of course, Dan and his crew repaired and replaced anything they found that was water-damaged behind the walls in this 60 year old bathroom. They cleaned up behind themselves daily. I really could not be happier with this remodel. Thank you, everyone! This was a job well done at a very fair price. Now, let's talk about that 60 year old kitchen......

We had a leak from our toilet which we didn't notice until... well too late, as we found that our…read morecabinet had rotten, the flooring ruined, and some of the wall had to be cut out. This happened at the beginning of Covid, and we had postponed fixing this, for when the number of cases were more manageable. After 6 months, we didn't want to wait anymore. Dan Shannon gave us a free estimate for the work (plus changing the flooring in the other bathroom to match as well) and had that scheduled soon after. They called 2 days before we were scheduled to start, asking if they can start a day earlier as someone else cancelled, and we agreed (we aren't going anywhere in this pandemic so why not?). Dan and his crew came by right on the scheduled time. Everyone had their masks on (hurray!). They put on heavy paper across the house so they don't scratch our floors as they worked. They were very respectful to us, our home, and our property as they worked, which we're so grateful as we were around the whole time. We're also very satisfied with their craftsmanship, and would use them again for any future remodeling work. Highly recommended.

We've had Buckie's complete 3 projects for us now and will continue to call them in the future!…read more We had them pour a concrete patio and driveway extension for us, and they even paved an extra spot for our trash bins with the extra concrete. A year+ later, it all still looks perfect! Second, we had them put in a privacy fence on one side of our yard. They're extremely timely, clean up well after themselves, and very hard workers. Our most recent project they just finished for us was fixing the soffit, fascia, and drip edge on the front of our home that was rotted. All the work and paint was complete in just one day! Highly recommend for quality and quick work, they're always fast to come out and provide estimates as well!

We discovered Buckies Construction through Facebook, where their advertising and visual…read morepresentations immediately caught our attention. After multiple meetings and a detailed review of their kitchen remodeling analysis and 3D design concepts, we requested a few minor adjustments--each of which was accommodated. We were encouraged by their vision and ultimately decided to move forward with Buckies Construction for our kitchen remodel. The project started on a positive note. The removal of the old cabinets and countertops, along with the initial cleanup, was handled efficiently and professionally. However, as the project progressed, communication became inconsistent. Much of the work was completed by subcontractors, which at times resulted in on-site uncertainty regarding execution details and decision-making. Due to limited oversight from Buckies Construction, we often found ourselves clarifying or correcting details directly with subcontractors--responsibilities we expected the contractor to manage. Scheduling and attendance were also challenging. There were missed workdays and last-minute cancellations, frequently with little notice. This required us to rearrange our schedules and take time off work, which was particularly difficult as we have a dog at home and needed to plan accordingly. These disruptions added unnecessary stress to an already intrusive remodeling process. As we communicated our concerns, the situation gradually improved. Increased involvement from Buckies Construction's primary representative made a noticeable difference, and we appreciated the acknowledgment and apology from Joe regarding the lack of consistent supervision earlier in the project. Ideally, this level of oversight would have been present from the beginning, as there were times it felt as though we were responsible for managing aspects typically handled by the contractor. Unfortunately, this was disappointing, as our expectations were higher. At this point, the kitchen is approximately 80% complete. While the completed portions look good, the final result has not fully aligned with the original vision, and some areas still require improvement. Clear and consistent communication is critical in remodeling projects, and stronger oversight throughout the process would significantly enhance the overall customer experience.
