Early on in our engagement, my husband and I were ambivalent on the idea of hiring a wedding planner. We had already chosen several of our main vendors and thought we could save money and handle planning our wedding on our own but we were mistaken.  We were soon overwhelmed with all the details and started to have decision-making fatigue so we decided to look for a wedding planner. After quite a bit of research we chose Justina/JL Events and we are so grateful we did! Her services were definitely worth the investment. We highly recommend Justina for wedding planning and coordination. She is professional but personable, trustworthy, and very easy to work with. She had great communication from the start and all throughout the preparation for our big day; her responsiveness was amazing. During our first meeting, Justina quickly identified our needs and vision and created a detailed timeline for our wedding planning. She helped us narrow down design choices and accompanied us to meetings with vendors. We were impressed by her organization and proactive approach! Having Justina as our planner helped alleviate much of the stress that comes with planning a large wedding (we had about 260 guests.) There were several instances in which we were frustrated dealing with unresponsive vendors but Justina was great at facilitating communication and even helped us find better companies to work with. Justina helped us stay on track during rehearsal day and was an expert problem-solver. She coordinated with our vendors and the staff at Casa Real with ease and was patient with us and our large wedding entourage. On the day of our wedding, Justina and her assistant Dana took such great care of us and we were able to enjoy our wedding celebration! Justina truly demonstrated her expertise with event coordination. We really appreciated her taking so many behind-the-scenes photos and videos, too! I'm so glad to say that Despina did all that and more for our wedding! We didn't really have a clue of what we wanted our of a coordinator; we just knew that our budget would be a leading factor to whom we chose. I talked to a few people and every other vendor didn't seem to fit. Once I reached out to Despina, I felt a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Fortunately my now husband was involved in the planning but I needed someone who could give me advice and little nuggets of wisdom along the way. After meeting with Despina, my husband and I knew we were all going to make a good team. She listened to what I and my husband wanted, she helped us stay within our budget, and she was generally a great person to be around. She didn't restrict the number of meetings/conversations we had which made the whole process flow smoothly! Despina also did a fantastic job of managing all the little details of our wedding. I plan events for a living but there were quite a few times I said, "I'm so glad you thought of this!" She also gave me suggestions on how to motivate my husband to get crafty by hand-making our table numbers--brilliant! Despina was even around to meet with other vendors to ensure they were aligned. She then took the initiative to manager them all. Such a HUGE help especially because we found out one of our vendors was less savory. On the day of the wedding, we felt everything went perfectly. Pictures showed us that everything was set up just as we imagined. Elegant, rustic, and simple. Our family and friends raved about how well everything was organized, and we thank Despina for making our dreams come to fruition. As we started working together a year before the wedding, Rebecca, and her business partner Marisa, quickly understood what mattered to us the most when it came to the wedding (venue, food, south of France vibe) and what was secondary (stationery, fancy lighting, being super traditional, etc). They started making venue and vendor recommendations and the best part is that the options they presented were never too many to be overwhelming and never too few to leave us wanting more. Just the right number and just the right style. Picking the venue, caterer, florists, dj, officiant, you name it, was a breeze. They were also very organized with template guest lists, timelines for what is due when and always on the ball when it came to sending us reminders or getting our sign off on something. Fast forward to the big day...I remember walking into the venue before the guests arrived and gasping at how great everything looked pulled together (Rebecca had shown me photoshop mocks before but this was another story). We contacted Corina in 2019 for a planned 2020 wedding. When everything shut down, we had to reschedule our wedding ceremony twice, first to 2021, and then finally to June 2022. Corina was available through phone and email and helped us organize and plan throughout this time. She helped us organize a walkthrough a month prior to our wedding and coordinated with all of our vendors. The day of, our wedding went without a hitch. Everything was smooth sailing and my wife and I loved working with her. In fact, she went above and beyond in so many important and small ways. 1. Our puppy. A huge shoutout to how well she also handled our 7-month-old puppy. We brought him to our wedding and during the day, she walked him and took care of him when we were eating, partying, and dancing. Definitely didn't have to do all that, but that's just what she did! 2. Go Pro. We couldn't find a videographer in time, but we did bring a GoPro. We were simply looking to capture all the important elements and she did just that throughout the ceremony, dinner, dancing, and speeches. 3. Clean up. After a bit of wine and 8 tequila shots, I can't say I was aware of exactly what happened regarding cleanup, but apparently, Corina brought everything to our suite and re-packaged everything so we were able to easily fit our signs, and decorations back into our car. If you are fortunate to book her during these busy wedding months, you made the right choice!
