Service complete 5/4/26 all in one day. Unfortunately my unit was 16 years old and had a major leak of coolant in the outdoor unit. After talking about all options, and asking a bajillion questions we decided to buy a new unit (SIGH). I want to complement everyone in their team for their professionalism. Never once was there a "this is the only real option for you". It was sensible and top tier with the options they provided. I cannot make a higher recommendation to use their service.

My issue holding back a higher…read morerating is that I called him out because I own a couple homes, 3 AC units, for the last 25 years. I am not new to AC issues. I knew that the issue was and told him. I called him out to replace a capacitor, nothing else. Install that, the unit will kick on. Cheap and easy fix. A gentec cap at Home Depot is about $14. Yep, $14. Discharge the old one with a screw driver, take it off, replace it. Charge me for a service call, maybe jack up the part price a bit, then boom, cool air and that's that. Well I once stopped using this company because it started to seem as if the techs are on salary, plus commission for upselling other services or parts. If this is the case, it makes the possibility for defrauding over over charging customers an obvious issue. Doesn't mean they will all be dishonest, but it would make dishonesty incentivized, and reward those techs that bring in the biggest numbers, and parts sold at an ungodly mark up. When we didn't have Youtube and the internet to cross reference and diagnose issues, and if I did not have a Nephew that is an HVAC tech but that lives too far, I would not be so upset that I felt had. He was a very pleasant person, but maybe this was a part of the manner in which the hammer was applied. So, an issue I have had several times over the course of 223 years of home ownership, that has never run a hair over $200 including the recharge, capacitor, and service call, ran close to $500, just a year past the last time I had this done by a competitor, same city. Another note, upstairs unit was chilly prior to the service of the downstairs unit. When the tech left, upstairs was warm. Not in relationship to the downstairs because of the fix, but unusually warm considering years both ran fine. He mentioned cleaning both. I did not ask for the upstairs to be serviced. What happened to the upstairs unit? What? Was I supposed to then call him back to now "fix" this one that magically started to warm up? Um, No. So I called the company I switched to in the first place. in the words of former President G.W. Bush... "There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again." At least I tried to allow them a chance for redemption. Seems like they are determined to upsell themselves out of my consideration ever again.

They called back 20 minutes later and were able to come out in 30 minutes. James arrived on time. He went right to work and my drains were good to go. I have used Deaton plumbing for many years. Their plumbers are always professional and courteous. I highly recommend them and will use them again when needed. Run from this company! I used this company to locate a leak in my sewage line. Within minutes of…read morearriving at my house they got a plumbing ball stuck in my sewage line. They spent the next 3-4 hour bashing my cast iron sewage line with a sewer clean out tool. They said they would have to tunnel to get the ball out. They returned the next day to excavate. They sent the same plumbers to excavate and not hire a professional dig crew. They let me know they would dig under my foundation footer, instead they chiseled through my footer with a jack hammer and cut the rebar doing permanent damage to my foundation (this was affirmed by multiple plumbers, foundation repair companies Ava a stuctual engineer). They tunneled a few feet underneath my foundation. They told me they removed the ball. I didn't trust their work so I had another company come out to run a camera. They never removed the ball and instead left a large hole stuffed with a rag so water could escape. I gave videos and photos to Vance Tim (North hills operations manager). He refused to take responsibility for what his employees did and instead demanded i pay for all the shoddy work they did. It costs me 1000s of dollars to fix damage they did to my home. All other contractors were totally baffled by what they did. Vance Tim threatened to sue me if i left a bad review.
