About 20 years ago we discovered Jackson Quality Construction located about two miles from our home. We started with a small project of removing wooden paneling in our basement so the floor could be waterproofed. Since then Jackson has done several projects around our house always when promised and always perfect. They built a new deck for us last year that visually looked much better than our old one and is very solid. More recently they patched a roof leak that the roofer could not seem to correct even after two visits and a few hundred dollars. Their crew also is genuinely friendly. What we appreciate most is that they will keep at it until we are completely satisfied. There's no just walking away after we pay. However, be prepared that Jackson is quite expensive. Be prepared to pay top dollar. We think it's worth the expense to get it done right without stress and worry. Many of our neighbors have used Jackson and have been highly satisfied. In fact, that's how we learned about them.

Brad, replaced I would say ten or more bricks, repointed the chimney, and coated the crown. He and his crew were professional from start to finish and didn't leave a speck of brick in the yard or on my roof. The price was absolutely phenomenal. He is a straight shooter. Look no further. I am going to be having him back for more work. Please note that the pics are not the finished product at the moment. Brad is coming back to clean the brick and sheathing completely and to seal the brick and mortar. I will update the photos when he is completely finished. I asked Illini Home Improvements to insulate a room that is above our garage. This room was very…read morecold in the winter, and very hot in the summer. They came out and inspected what insulation I already had, and explained clearly why that insulation wasn't working. Basically, the builder had not insulated properly, either due to not knowing the proper way to insulate this type of room, or due to cutting corners. They explained to me what they would recommend, and why, and gave a firm estimate and time frame for when they could do the job. I agreed and their team showed up when they said they would, did the job, and cleaned up after themselves. They stuck to their quote even though the job took a significant amount more of insulation than expected. I was able to inspect their work via the attic, and they did exactly what they told me they would do. So far this room is warmer in the winter, but will never be as warm as the rest of the house due to being over a cold garage, and due to having inadequate heating vents. But at least the room is usable now and we can use a space heater as needed. My thanks to the team, and I'll call them again when I need something insulated. Note that despite the name of this company, they don't do EVERY kind of home improvement; this company specializes in weather-proofing/ insulation.

I was unhappy with the way the installer (his name was Chuck) handled the job. The screens were torn (not his fault), but instead of replacing them and coming back to finish the job as he said he would, he returned the broken screens to my porch about a month later with a note taped to it with a disconnected phone number. He didn't leave the packaging materials or instructions, so returning them to the company wasn't an option for me. I had to pay $90 for replacement parts, and Illini Home Improvement refused to accept responsibility for the job since the contractor was no longer employed with them. Frustrating to say the least and my doors are still not in working order.

I got a few quotes and Roof Doctors was the best quote which was great because after meeting Randy, I knew I found my roofing contractor. Randy is as down to earth and straightforward person as you could hope for. I appreciate an owner who is involved in the job. Communication was great, timely, professional and polite. Work was done in a timely fashion and Randy provided me nearly 50 pictures of before, during and after stages. I saw what was wrong with my roof (did a tear off not a reroof) and how it was fixed. Had some bad boards (it's dimensional lumber not sheathing as it's an old house). I have new gutters and gutter guards that still look great in the photos.
