Despite having multiple, and usually empty, parking spots both in front of and behind the store, their employees continuously take up every spot on the neighboring street, a street where actual residents clearly do not have enough parking. They have been asked politely and repeatedly by residents if they could please use their own parking, and they refuse. Rudely. There are many elderly residents on the street who end up having to walk from a block away because employees of the store take up minimally three to four parking spots every day. After the blizzards, when we spent many hours digging out a few precious spots, Norman's employees rolled in and took them. As I wrote, I cannot speak to how they do as a business, but if this is how they treat their neighbors, I'm guessing they are the opposite of nice and or integrity based people to do business with, which seems to be the case judging by their terrible reviews.

Aside from my shutters and door ( which was a preference, not something that needed to be done, but I LOVE it) I have him come back to fix a piece of my garage that was rotten. We discussed a few options. One being an aluminum frame. After pricing the job out, Dubs decided to replace the wood and not use aluminum because of price, so with the customer in mind, he chose to not use the aluminum because the material price has skyrocket like everything else. In my mind, what does he care, I would be paying for it but no, He chose to save me money!!!! So awesome. He told me he would do the primer and then paint after it had dried, which I was just thinking, primer one day, then come back and paint. When I came home last night, it looked like I had pulled into the wrong driveway, the update was PERFECT. I thought , wow, how did he get that done so fast?!! When I spoke to him today, he said he was able to prime and get one light coat of paint on. I told him it looked perfect and could actually leave as is. He insisted he was going to do another coat. So , while I knew prior to this second job at my house, this job really confirms the pride he takes in his work. It's sad that I am shocked to find someone that takes pride in their work but WOW!!!! I feel like when he's done with my house, it's going to look brand new. Also another thing that I was highly impressed with is that he asked me of I minded if he had helped someone else with a project while he was still doing mine. Of course I do not mind at all, this guy deserves to make money when it's available. And in no way has him helping someone else impacted what he was doing for me. Dubs knows exactly what he is doing, and his time management skills ( which I don't think I mentioned in my first review) are spot on ( not usual for a man, haha, joking!!) If you hire him, you will not be disappointed and I'm almost positive you will be rushing to give him a 5 star review as well as recommendations to friends and family. You will of found "your guy" . Also, he's young, so he's not going anywhere, still has all the energy to complete big or small jobs. I spoke to an elderly Asian male and let him know that I was a returning repeat customer. The guy told me the business was under new ownership but assured me he'd work with me on pricing. After selecting a granite slab, we sat down to discuss costs. Unfortunately, the conversation quickly became frustrating. The guy quoted me a price of over $60 per square foot, which I found to be unreasonably high, especially since competitors were offering similar materials in the $50 range, with additional discounts for larger projects. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the way pricing was negotiated. Instead of being straightforward, he put on a performance--asking a Mexican woman behind the counter, who I knew to be an employee from previously, if she could approve a better price. He clearly was pretending as if he didn't have final say on the cost, even though I knew he was the boss. After clearing it with this "employee" he agreed to take off a nominal $3 per square feet. I asked if he would agree to throw in a free sink, as advertised, and he did this same song and dance show where he needed to clear it first with his fake boss. Seeing through his bs, I asked about Mimi, his counterpart whom I had better dealings with in the past. He told me she was no longer with the company due to the change in ownership. However, when I returned to the yard later to look at another slab, a worker mentioned that Mimi was still employed but just off that day. That inconsistency confirmed my growing doubts about this guy. At that point, I decided to walk away. I told the owner I'd think about it and ended up taking my business elsewhere. It's unfortunate, but the lack of transparency and the pricing games they played have cost them a loyal customer. If these guys wants to stay in business he should really let Mimi run the show.

He and his team showed up each work day ready to get the job done. Wes came out the day after initial contact, provided a detailed estimate the day after and was able to squeeze us in to start work the next day. They went one day over schedule due to weather but that's understandable. The only issue was the original estimate grossly underestimated the material cost. Wes acknowledged and apologized for the inconvenience and made up for the mistake. I appreciate his professionalism, consistent communication, and workmanship guarantee. Overall you can't beat having a contractor who is upfront, honest, professional and realistic even if that means acknowledging their own missteps. That (along with a quality product of course ) means a whole lot to me. I have hired Wes for other jobs and plan to do a lot more jobs in the future. Would highly recommend!
