I came here for a new kitchen countertop project as a returning customer, having had a good experience with their pricing and products in the past. I spoke to an elderly Asian male and let him know that I was a returning repeat customer. The guy told me the business was under new ownership but assured me he'd work with me on pricing. After selecting a granite slab, we sat down to discuss costs. Unfortunately, the conversation quickly became frustrating. The guy quoted me a price of over $60 per square foot, which I found to be unreasonably high, especially since competitors were offering similar materials in the $50 range, with additional discounts for larger projects. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the way pricing was negotiated. Instead of being straightforward, he put on a performance--asking a Mexican woman behind the counter, who I knew to be an employee from previously, if she could approve a better price. He clearly was pretending as if he didn't have final say on the cost, even though I knew he was the boss. After clearing it with this "employee" he agreed to take off a nominal $3 per square feet. I asked if he would agree to throw in a free sink, as advertised, and he did this same song and dance show where he needed to clear it first with his fake boss. Seeing through his bs, I asked about Mimi, his counterpart whom I had better dealings with in the past. He told me she was no longer with the company due to the change in ownership. However, when I returned to the yard later to look at another slab, a worker mentioned that Mimi was still employed but just off that day. That inconsistency confirmed my growing doubts about this guy. At that point, I decided to walk away. I told the owner I'd think about it and ended up taking my business elsewhere. It's unfortunate, but the lack of transparency and the pricing games they played have cost them a loyal customer. If these guys wants to stay in business he should really let Mimi run the show. read more

they installed my granite counter years ago and my undermount sink came loose so i called and scheduled an appointment to repair it. the cost Was $300. they showed up and resealed the sink. they were sliding the sink around scraping for the old caulk to reseal it and broke the trap which i didn"t know until later that night because i was told not to use the sink for hours until the new caulk dried. when i used the sink it flooded under the sink shorting out my transformer for my undercabinet lighting. i repaired the trap myself because they were closed at that point and ordered a new transformer. went to the store the next day to try and get reimbursed for the parts (not even the labor) and was told there is nothing they could do because the plumbing should have been disconnected first. they said i was told that but i was never told that or it would have been done before they came. more or less called me a liar. i told them i would leave this review and told them i would never f 'n use them again and walked out. i was folllowed to the parking lot with them saying come back here and say that to me which i took as a threat but kept walking and left. this is a horrible business pratice and customer service over $70 in parts i had to buy to fix their mistake. think twice before using this company. read more

Very poor customer service!! We chose 2 slabs of granite and paid 50% in a deposit. The slabs were identified as sold with our names written on both slabs. We returned a few weeks later to match some samples to the stone and we discovered that our slabs were no longer at Stone House. The slabs were sold to other customers. We were never notified or contacted that a mistake had occurred, even though there was an accurate sales contract and photos of our identified slabs in the computer system. No apologies were made and it was "brushed off" by the staff as not being a problem. We requested our deposit be returned and decided to take our business elsewhere. This is a very poor way to run a business and deemed untrustworthy and unreliable. I would recommend to steer clear, and avoid working with this business. read more

We bought our kitchen cabinets and quartz countertops from Stone House. Very easy to work with and the turn around to get our products was fast. When they went to cut our template for our counters they found them to have stains on them that weren't coming out, a problem from the vendor. Instead of moving forward and installing they called us and said we can't use these slabs, it wouldn't be the quality you're looking for. So they allowed me to come in and pick new slabs and still installed on time. read more

Inadequate Unprofessional Installation & Ownership is Despicable. I would make this a 0 star review if I could. BUYER BEWARE the way that installation & customer service is done at Stone House is shocking. The owner yelled at me multiple times on the phone, made my pregnant wife cry and threatened me to come down to the shop to face him like a man. This will be a pretty detailed review, but I am willing to answer any questions or concerns that you may have if you are trying to use them for granite counter tops which I strongly suggest not to, especially if you are going to have granite around a cook top. The installation took 2 hours on Thursday and was not complete because they measured the back splash wrong, it was off by 1/2 inch and looked bad, so they said they will return Monday, install the new back splash piece and seal all of the granite. Upon completing of the new back splash piece and sealing all of the granite I presented the installers with the last check for the granite which was cashed that next day Tuesday. Once my contractor gets out of the hospital and returns to our kitchen Wednesday Morning, he informs me of all the inadequacies: 1. They cut the granite INSIDE of the house for the Cook top, he has never seen that in his life and they didn't clean up, you can still see the dust. (Picture #1) 2. They had to cut my custom window trim to make it fit INSTEAD of doing the proper thing and cutting the granite, they took the lazy way out. (Picture #2 & #3) 3. They were very sloppy around the Back splash area and made major holes in the sheet rock (Picture #4) 4. There was a noticeable big white scratch that was over a foot long on the counter top (Picture #5) 5. The Island Counter top was noticeable off center by over 1.5 inches (Picture #6 right side Picture #7 left side) 6. The cook top opening developed 3 cracks between Monday when the crew finished and Wednesday when the contractor noticed it. 3 cracks in the 3 corners. (Photo #8 is top left, Photo #9 is top right and photo #10 is the bad one bottom right) Upon going through all of this with my contractor, I immediately went to Stone House to talk to Mr. X and I showed him these pictures. Below are his responses to each one of my concerns. At this point I paid my full balance and I do not have any leverage to stand on to get these issues fixed, but I went to the shop anyway to inform Mr. X who I found out is apparently an owner, about my terrible experience. 1. "What do you want from me? You want me to hire a cleaning crew? You want me to send over a cleaning service?" (Mr. X) By that response I could tell that the owner was not interested in my feedback or willing to work with me. 2. "You gave them permission to cut the window, so they did. (Mr. X)" Yes but I know nothing about the granite installation process and was unaware they could have done it a different way to save the window trim. (Me) "Well you gave them permission." (Mr. X) 3. "There will be a back splash that covers those spaces, you will never see it." (Mr. X) I understand that but your guys should have been more careful, they now made more work for my contractor. (Me) "Your contractor maybe does 5 kitchens a year, my installers do 5 kitchens a day." (Mr. X) My contractor has done over 200 kitchens and he knows what he is talking about, he has been in business for over 20 years. (Me) 4. 5 & 6. "The crew will come back out and fix that" (Mr. X) Ok that would be great, I want to make sure my contractor is there when they are working (Me) Here is what the crew ended up "fixing" after they made my pregnant wife call the store and proceed to get quoted for another $2,000 to get a new island counter top. Picture #11 and #12 is what the counter top looked like after the crew left on Friday afternoon. The crack was not fixed and they didn't care at all. It was the worst experience I have ever had with any type of contractor or installation in my 31 years on Earth. I will never be giving Stone House any more of my money and I could not stress enough the lack of respect the treated my family and my contractors. I never wish the strain and stress that my family had to go through with this process, so take this review as you may and feel free to contact me if you would like more information. In conclusion I learned my lesson and the following facts: - Stone House cuts the granite by hand, other companies like Marble Concepts actually use lasers to cut out the cook top to the model's exact size - The Installation crew has complete disregard for your home, I will never allow them in my house gain. - The owner cash's your check as quickly as they get it. - Once they get all of your money, they offer zero customer support. - They will lure you in with cheaper prices, but its not worth it, pay the little extra at other places for something that will last much longer. read more

The experience was awesome ... until the final step; payment - and it really left a bad taste in our mouths after such a wonderful experience up to that point. . Janet was an absolute pleasure to deal with - knowledgeable, calm, professional. Stone House in general was extremely responsive - they showed up when they said they would and their workmanship was great. After we picked the granite, they cut it, they installed it - all within a matter of a week or two. There was a slight problem with the sizing on one part of the counter but we had no problems; they were back the next day with a new piece to install. Overall, we were elated with the service . But then, some guy called us up, the afternoon the granite was installed, demanding payment immediately. We had not yet moved into the house so we wanted to inspect the install before making final payment. We told this guy at that we would drive the 45 minutes to the house right after work that night, make sure everything was good, and pay first thing the next morning. He was obnoxious - said we should pay right away, badmouthed Janet; complaining she should have taken a bigger deposit; as if that had anything to do with us. He was hostile and unprofessional. if it wasn't for him, this would have been 5 stars. They need to send that guy to customer service training or they shouldn't let him near customers - and if he happens to be the owner; shame on him, step away. read more

First bad sign was after we made a payment of 1/2 of the total cost they came out and made a template then raise the price $800. They had a print before the template was made so they knew the measurements. The matchup at the joint is absolutely terr. It seems like they didn't give any thought into it at all. When I stopped in to express my disappointment they really didn't care. I offered for them to take the 10 minute drive to my house to see what I was upset about but they were paid in full and I guess they just didn't care. We bought Quartz counter tops and everything went great up until the end. Ordering was easy, they came out and measured perfectly. The counter tops were installed on time and fit perfectly. Now came the problem. After they were installed we noticed some defects in one of the stones. Most likely just needs to be buffed out, but me being handy but definitely not a Quartz expert, decided to call to see if someone could come out to take a look. I was told to use acetone and a razor blade to try to scrape off the defects (might be glue according to Stone House). I looked it up, and all experts say to never use acetone on Quartz. Being that we just bought them, and they weren't exactly cheap, I asked again if they could send a stone tech out to take a look. They said it would be a $250 service charge plus labor. I was told that the slabs were inspected when cut. Obviously they didn't inspect them very well. Beware to use this company as they do NOT back their product. Beware! I originally started at Renu on Bristol Pike (Diane is Very nice) she send me to Stone House to pick my slap. The Manager(Eldi) is very impolite, first of all I'm not a stone worker or counter installer. Stone House installer told me to get 10 inch brackets and Eldi sold me 15 in brackets to the tune of 150.00. There is a total disregard for customers from Eldi and Janet. Janet took credit for the sale even though I kept telling her Diane helped me several times and send me to Stone house. I would not recommend this place the customer service is just not satisfactory. BTW i work in customer service industry so I know what is expected. The worker who came to my home and measured was a very kind young man who does impressive work. On the other hand, the gentleman (owner?) seemed disinterested to discuss cabinet configurations. I thought it might be his general disposition, however when other customers he knew came in he was very engaged. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere. I had an amazing experience at Stone House! I was looking to replace my old kitchen countertops, sink and backsplash and had begun the process of getting estimates. I contacted Stone House and spoke to Eldi and he assured me he could beat any estimate and he was right. The showroom was meticulous and he even had several slabs of the particular quartzite I was interested in ( the competitor did not). Eldi was always there to take my calls and answer my questions. Unlike the competitor, he gave me a detailed written estimate and I was happy to hear that they could also do the plumbing hook-up too. The whole process was much quicker than anticipated and the entire Stone House team were so nice, knowledgeable and professional. My kitchen turned out exactly how I had envisioned it! read more

We had a granite countertop installed by Stone House. I would not recommend doing business with this operation. Communication and installation quality were terrible. here are just a few specifics; 1. During our first visit they showed us granite that matched our kitchen and told us it was first quality. During our visit to order they told us we would have to sign a quality waiver due to pinholes in the grade. Very confusing. We switched grades for a higher price. 2. We purchased our own sink rather than the sink Stone House offers for $200. Our sink from Home Depot online was cheaper and higher quality (16 gauge SS). We dropped off the sink at the store for the granite to be cut. Instead of using our sink they used their inferior sink. I did not realize they installed the wrong sink until after installation. I forced them to come switch the sink. Our cutout does not match the sink as well as it should. 3. Rather than anchoring the rectangular sink with at least 1 undercounter bracket at each corner, they only installed brackets at three corners. I realized this because a day or so after installation when the adhesive was supposed to be dry, I noticed the sink would flex from the counter under weight. I wound up installing an additional anchor to a wooden crossbeam of the cabinet myself. I did to want any further dealings with this company. Stay Away! read more
