I was referred to CJ to get my son's hair cut before his graduation. He told me he'd squeeze him in and text a few hours before to confirm. He never texted. Come Saturday, nothing. I followed up at 4pm. His response? "My bad, how long would it take to get here?" -- meaning he'd forgotten about us entirely. Then, instead of just cutting my son's hair himself, he offered to hand him off to another barber. When I asked if that person was good, he rudely replied "Yes or no." When I again asked if the barber he was offering was good at cutting hair -- he went silent and never responded. No confirmation. No accountability. And attitude because I dared to ask if the unknown barber he was foisting us onto had any skills. My son needed a cut for his graduation and CJ couldn't be bothered to follow through on his own word. Unreliable and lacking integrity. Fortunately, I found Chase the Barber on Yelp, who did a fantastic job on my son's hair. Check him out for great skills and true professionalism. Hard pass on CJ. CJ responded to my review by saying I didn't have an appointment. That's exactly the point. He offered to squeeze my son in and promised to text to confirm. Even a 'maybe' requires the courtesy of a response -- which he never gave. And the least he could have done was answer a simple question about the barber he was pawning my son off on -- but he couldn't even manage that. Bad business. read more

I took my 2 year old son who's not very open to new people or experiences to get his first haircut. Cj was a GODSEND. Not only was he extremely patient, but he had a quick hand so when my son jerked out wasn't an issue, he made note to give me information while he was cutting, advising how sensitive the back of the neck is and that he wouldn't touch it so that my son had a positive experience.
