In my interaction with David I have found him to be thorough, honest and humble. We don't know pricing structure dynamics when it comes to drywells but David gave us a heads up what to look for - he gave us counsel as if we weren't going with him. His workers had some serious work ethic. He valued his reputation in the community hence the outstanding work performed. During the first rainstorm he came by several times to check for flooding. It was really intense because his name was on the line. He was a true perfectionist - of which we were the happy recipients of. We'll use them again as they do other types of work as well.

I contracted Colin to remove some dirt and debris from my yard…read more Prior to the job start, I met Colin at my house and he explained his process and I detailed what I wanted done. He specifically stated that they would use a shovel to hand dig around the asphalt so they wouldn't cause any damage. The day of the job he brought in another gentleman to operate the excavator. The operator went straight into a pile of debris right by my asphalt and took a 10"x10" chunk out of it and caused a crack leading to my house. All 3 of us were there and witnessed this happen. I asked them about it and neither of them acknowledged my question and continued to work. Before we started I showed them a back section of the yard I specifically wanted gone. Colin kept saying that he understood what I was asking, but they kept excavating the wrong part of the yard. I continued to try to clarify that wasn't what I was looking for and then Colin just walked away from me in a huff. I then went up to the operator himself to try and explain and the response I got was "I'm trying really hard to be nice to you right now" . Which was a surprisingly aggressive response to receive when you're asking the people who are removing dirt on your property to remove the correct dirt. At the end, the operator dumped a bucket of dirt over the crack to intentionally cover it up and then he left the job site without letting me know he was leaving or confirming with me that the job was done. Colin was ready to leave as well, but thankfully I hadn't paid him yet, so I went back over to the crack to address it with him. It was only after I called him out for it A SECOND TIME at the very end that he took responsibility and acknowledged the damage. Colin did have someone come out and fix the asphalt, but only because he got caught. If you do use him, make sure you supervise the entire job.

I was working with the owner and my fertilizer contractor to ensure everything went smoothly. However as soon as there was an issue with the fertilizer I was using and the proposal from Don he simply said "I want to cut ties" (please note we were still planning on having everything done listed in the contract). He then followed up with "call me again when you break ties with your current fertilizer company". This company is very unprofessional and hung up on me when we were in a call discussing options.

After assessing our neighbors' yards, we hired the best landscaper among them--he made us promises and charged accordingly then he abandoned us without even doing the fall cleanup, leaving the yard 3 inches deep in leaves (during wildfire season last fall!), a scraggly mess, all winter. He had the nerve to show up in February saying he'd do it then for the same price. No thanks. But our neighbor across the street--her yard is always immaculate, like a carpet. Let's give Elite a try. We gave them a call and Bryan was quick to respond. We struck a deal, and he performed the "fall" cleanup here in March. It took them almost 3 days to clear the mess out, and I'm sure he took a loss for all the hard work his very pleasant team put in. But the yard looks better than it has looked since we moved in. We have very high hopes for Elite. They seem to *want* to have us as clients which is a nice change from the others who acted like *they* were doing *us* a favor by charging us huge fees for the most basic yard maintenance. It's absolutely clear that our previous landscaper took advantage of my mother. We're from Texas, new to the climate, the foliage and even to taking care of a yard (HOA did it in the old country). We will give you the benefit of the doubt for a little while, but overcharging a widow like the others did is unconscionable. Bryan has been straight with us, treated us with respect, and we have every reason to believe that we'll have a long, productive relationship with his company. Geoff was very personable, talked me through the project (we needed branches from neighbors tree cut) and he even walked me through my yard to talk about the other trees/health status. Of the 3 other quotes we received, Above & Beyond was the most reasonable and quite honestly the only one that made me feel comfortable with moving forward. Project was completed yesterday (since the date of the quote to the project completion, it took about 3 weeks which was even earlier than expected). The work was done within a couple of hours, no damage to the yard, and everything was picked up. Geoff is someone who cares about his company and his customers - you will be satisfied!
