This company is incredibly unprofessional. I placed an order on 11/19 for a coffee table and lamp (both on sale). On 11/25, I received an email from someone named Marie claiming the lamp's price had increased by $500 due to a supposed design change. Minutes later, she emailed again, saying it was actually a $160 increase--still absurd, especially since the original price had been listed on the website for months and only "changed" after my purchase. The owner, Jesse, later reached out to apologize for the confusion and said the increase was actually $200. Frustrating, but I reluctantly agreed to proceed after he offered me $100 off. To my surprise, they canceled the entire order due to the price adjustment. Already fed up, I decided to reorder just the coffee table. Then, days later, I received an email saying the coffee table was unavailable due to a vendor production hold. This is baffling because the company listed it on sale, yet the manufacturer's website shows it's been sold out for months. It's clear this company doesn't have its act together and falsely advertises products they can't deliver. I would recommend not purchasing from this company. I placed an order for a bed in December 2024 and, after paying my invoice, never heard from them again. I was in direct contact with the shipping company only. In January 2025 I broke my ankle and wasn't able to schedule the delivery as I couldn't access my apartment due to too many stairs. I communicated this to the shipping company, who was understanding. It wasn't until I got a call the last week of March 2025 from the shipping company, that I was asked if they could schedule delivery the next day. I asked what the next time they'd be in my area was, and they told me mid April. I told them that would be better, but they never told me that I'd have to pay storage fees. I then received a call from Sherry at CA Modern, informing me that I'd have to pay storage fees starting on April 5th. She basically scolded me for not arranging delivery through CA Modern and going through the shipping company. I not once got a call from CA Modern to arrange delivery. Was it my fault that the shipping company was calling me? According to CA Modern, yes. So now I have to pay storage fees because CA Modern failed to coordinate delivery with me and let me know if these fees. Awful company - I've spent over $5K with them and severely regret it. CA Modern Home has a good, high-quality selection of designer furniture and home goods. However, their order fulfillment and shipping is very slow and unprofessional. Twice, they advertised items to me as 4 weeks "quick ship", charged me right when I placed the order, and took 3-4 months to ship it, with no communication regarding the order status along the way. If you read through the reviews of CA Modern Home, it seems many other people have had the same experience, going back years in the past. I ordered a table from CA Modern Homes, it was from Blue Dot the Strut Table, it was confirmed the manufacture had it in warehouse in stock. After ordering, I was advised Bluebot was 15-20 days backup shipping an item out and they should have known that when inquired if in stock. I followed on my order, was advised congratulations it just arrived for delivery - it takes them a day or two to respond to emails - Always. Never a response in a timely manner. It had been sitting in a local warehouse a week!! I called the delivery company they advise was delivering to learn they gave it to another company! At this point CA Modern has no idea who delivered the table. The table is missing the main support, emailed - no response that day of course -This company Has ZERO customer service. I made it clean that if the part didnt get mailed out ASAP they can come get the table. Zero response--They do not service the customer at all! Moved to a fully IKEA furnished condo in South Beach and was looking to get all new modern furniture. My husband and I stopped by this store as they had the type of furniture we were looking for. We were promptly told to leave as we "didn't have an appointment ". The salesperson was very rude and condescending. Be aware of any online orders. Bought a chair here, because on the website it said "usually ships in 5-7 days". Right after I payed I receive a email confirmation, and that is everything I get from this store. After a month and a half (till I completely forgot this purchase), I called the store to check what's going on. Marvin is kind to help me find out from the vender that the estimated shipping day is another two weeks from that moment. I asked him if I can just cancel it, he said he cannot help me do that, because customers only have a few days after the payment date to check the status and cancel it. So the store really doesn't give you the courtesy to inform you that your purchase is not gonna be as described to "ship in 5-7 days". If it's gonna be a delay, it's a customer's job to find out and if you miss your deadline to cancel, you are stuck there for weeks or months unless you want to pay all the shipping plus 30% fee (yeah, great customer service system). I guess for my case, I'm just gonna wait for chair to arrive in a few weeks after the one and a half month. Nothing I can do. So be aware, no email beside that confirmation of payment, no calls from the store, no nothing. You have to be very proactive about checking what's going on with your purchase. This is not place that you place order like Amazon, Design Within Reach or Restoration Hardware. You pay for your furniture, no customer service. And one little thing, the Marvin guy who helped me figure things out, even tho he couldn't do anything, he is nice enough and helpful. But if you happened to talk to a Jennifer (or Jessica), just hang up or walk away and try to save yourself from some miserable service that's worse than DMV. After a five minutes call, she literally said at the end, "listen, I'm not in charge of the web sales, there's a customer coming in (or out), Marvin will follow up and give you a call" then she hung up. When I spend $5000 on a chair, I expect reasonable customer service. Instead, it's been a complete hassle to get it delivered. I understand Herman Miller has long lead time but this company's and Herman Miller's deliver is the worst. First there was a recorded phone tree that after 20 minutes scheduled the chair delivery for Wednesday. After rearranging my schedule, I get a robo voice telling the chair won't be delivered. Again waste my time rescheduling through Robo for thursday. Get a call from someone there saying it won't be delivered Thursday despite the robo. Told the robo doesn't work. So finally scheduled for 9-1 friday. It's past 1 no chair. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not be using again. read more

Bait and switch. I purchased a piece of furniture online (paid over $2000). My credit card was billed. Two days later I was informed that their advertised pricing was off and that I need to make an additional payment of ~$460 dollars. They sent me an online bill for the amount. When I objected and requested that they honor the price that I had already paid, they told me that they would not. No apology. I have since found online reviews and it seems that this type of bait and switch is something that has occurred to other customers of CA modern. Finding and purchasing a dream home is like finding the perfect lover therefore, attention must be paid to décor. This store has it all from Philippe Starck's Louis Ghost armchair, to the beautiful and timeless Emeco aluminum chairs designed to last 150 years, at least that's the designer's sales pitch. My favorite piece was a cream reclining Italian leather sofa that screams comfort and elegance and could be perfectly paired with Herman Miller's Eames lounge chair and ottoman in white Italian leather. The service here is excellent and owner is very knowledgeable on all the brands. I am yet to find the perfect home, but once I do, I'll be revisiting. read more

I initially purchased a Gus Davenport sofa from CA Modern through my interior decorator for delivery in Scottsdale, AZ. My credit card was processed on June 11th. I did not receive any further updates regarding a delivery, so I e-mailed the company on June 15th to ask about delivery. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response. On June 18th, I did call Jesse Brody with the company directly who did say I should have received an e-mail regarding delivery, but I suppose it may have been lost in cyberspace for whatever reason. I am unclear what department he was in, but he was friendly enough and did forward me the e-mail. On June 25th, I did receive a call from the delivery service that the couch would be arriving June 26th. On June 26th, the delivery man did arrive with the couch. I asked him why he was alone to deliver a couch and he told me he was just planning on dropping it off outside at the front of the building, not the penthouse floor of the apartment complex. He then asked for an additional $60 for delivery. I obviously called back Jesse to ask him how in the world this makes any sense, and he curtly responded that there was nothing he could do. I used CA Modern because of the lower price I received through the interior decorator and the "free delivery." In his defense, the interior decorator has been subpar, but regardless, I've seen better customer service at Circle K. The couch has since been sent back, and I am awaiting a full refund. I will say that this is the only experience I have ever had with this company, and there will clearly never be another, but I have not ever been to the showroom and so I can not comment on this portion of the company. Also, it is possible that clients who work directly with the company do receive better service than I did. But I can say without a doubt, if ordering via phone or online, I would strongly recommend a different company. read more

I went to visit this furniture store on my vacation as is was conventilty seated next to the restaurant I was eating at. As we looked around the store we sat down as the manager Jennifer Altadonna was helping other customers to wait for her to ask about a table. Might I add she did not greet us as we entered the establishment, instead she walked over to us to ask us to not sit on the furniture in the store, as she reminded us the chair cost $10,000. We immediately got up from the seat as she seemed as if she did not want to help us she simply wanted the three black women out of her store. Then afterwards I attempted to have a courageous conversation with her about how she could have handled that conversation with a little more tack. Instead she became defensive and then threatened to call the police. Which is simply puzzling as all I asked for was the other employees name that was yelling at me as I was trying to speak with her. Soooooo I'm not sure if this is a whites only establishment but I surely left feeling like I was in the Jim Crow south. read more

Prior to ordering a herman miller desk online from camodernhome.com, I called to ask about delivery times and was told that it would take 2 weeks for it to be delivered to California. 1 day after placing the order I received an email with the expected shipping date, which is 6 weeks from the date the order was placed. I bought a Herman Miller Envelop Desk from their online store because they had what I wanted in their warehouse versus my having to wait 4+ weeks if I would have ordered the same item directly from Herman Miller. The box arrived badly beaten up with the desk's topside abraded, appearingly from being dragged around during the transit process. I contacted their customer service with photos and they responded quickly and apologetically. They put in a new order directly with Herman Miller, and although I had to wait a few weeks, the desk was delivered by Herman Miller's white glove delivery service ensuring everything was intact. read more
