I've been going to Dr. Brown for a few years now, about 2-3. Before him I'd really been struggling…read moreto find a primary doctor that I was on the same page with and liked. One of my coworkers recommended I give Dr. Brown a try. She said, "His office is in Kannapolis & you'll have a long wait, but trust me, he is worth it!" Living in Salisbury and being a road warrior anyway & having to wait at every office I've ever been to, these weren't deal breakers for me. Now this was awhile ago so I don't remember much from my 1st appointment other than walking out saying to myself, "I think I've finally found my primary doctor." I just remember being able to be myself and talk to him not feeling intimidated or judged. I was excited to go back to work to tell my coworker. Coming to terms with a recent diagnosis & my health, I struggled a lot with keeping my appointments over the next year. Finally, I found the strength to start taking care of me and keep my appointment. I will never forget that day!!!! I was feeling really good that day, I started back eating right and working out, had my hair done and actually wore something decent to work that day. I was at the scales with the nurse when Dr. Brown walked by, looked at me and said, "Woooow!! Look who we found!! I haven't seen you in awhile! Just because you walk in here looking like something today don't mean you're off the hook. Talk to you shortly." And he walked into his next appointment. I laughed so hard as the nurse then walked me into my room, checked in with me and told me he'd be in shortly. I remember then sitting there and thinking OMG he is about to go in on me for not doing what i'm supposed to do or keeping my appointments, then I thought wow, I am so happy I found him. How many other doctors do you go to once, maybe twice, before disappearing for a year, and when you show back up they remember you??? Especially such a popular and busy doctor! He came in, basically told me to get it together and told me what I needed to do. I felt privileged and proud to have him as my doctor. He really cares for his patients and doesn't talk to you like you're some pathetic patient who can't get it together. He really talks to you in a way you can relate to and is always honest with you! That's my favorite part! He never sugar coats anything, but never makes you feel like crap as he tells it to you like it is. This is hard to do for A LOT of doctors. Recently the wait time has dramatically improved so that makes going to his office even more pleasant. We always have really nice conversations during our appointments to where I don't feel like I'm rushed, but he doesn't linger too long because he is a busy man, which is understandable. I still struggle a bit with keeping my appointments but I'm much better and the office staff is always friendly and helpful as I make appointments or when I am in the office. I am really blessed to have found Dr. Brown and if he ever leaves I'll follow him wherever he goes (within reason lol).

The front staff is always helpful and kind toward my son and I. My son has Autism and appointments are usually a bit stressful as things out of our normal routine throw him off, but he's very comfortable here. He loves the paintings in the WIC waiting room and the blue couches. He is not shy around the staff, he's very happy coming here and looks forward to it. We went just today and front end staff was helpful and quick getting us in. My son was cooperative because the sweet lady, Marta, was so kind and understanding toward him and talking to him to let him know everything we were doing/what to expect. It made a huge difference. She was very patient too. Then after that, our Nutritionalist, Holly, helped us from that point on. She was like sunshine! So kind toward my little guy and he was very happy being around her, not nervous or anxious at all like he can be at other doctor appointments. She was so sweet and loving, and it was actually such a great experience going there today. I highly recommend this place for your littles!!!! They are so helpful here and accommodating. Thank you so much!!

Let's face it. This it is the emergency room... No one is exactly happy to be here…read more In the center of the emergency room entrance is a helicopter and a launch pad. I've got to admit, I was impressed. This chopper stationed outside of the facility gives the impression that they [mean] serious life-saving business. I have found myself in emergencies room all over the globe, for one reason or another. And as far as this one is concerned it could be worse. When you're here with loved one(s) or for yourself, it is nice to have a team that tries their best to soften the sudden impact of unexpected medical intervention. To that end upon entering, there is a kiosk which visitors can arm themselves with earloop face masks for both adults and children for bacterial filtration to offer some sense of protection. Also, there is sanitation hand gel and tissues for sniffles or God forbid, tears... Germs [will] be spread in hospital settings. That is a fact, but it's nice to know that every precaution is offered for patient/patron peace of mind. There are big screen televisions that broadcast local channels and news. Other monitors with useful health information. I saw some folks with those hospital blankets to keep them warm. They also have a centralized telephone charging station. Not that any of them worked though. None of the plugs would charge mine or anyone else's iPhone, but the thought is considerate and appreciated. If only there was adequate follow through. This is the only hospital in Concord, North Carolina. They are serving a huge population! Each time I've been here they have been crowded, with scant sitting room and excessive wait time. The main issue I have with this place is the fact that they are slow. Having said that, I still must give them a fair rating because they stop people from dying on a daily basis, and if that isn't worth a decent three stars then what is? You can see that this team works to make the best of one horrible situation after another. Patients are vulnerable it's intimidating. I am sure it's a high stakes balancing act that I can't begin to comprehend, but I still dare to wonder if there aren't better solutions to dealing with persistent overcrowding. Recently, I was there with someone suffering from severe chest pains. They still waited approximately 90 minutes to be seen. We had to wait and watch as the color drained from our loved ones face as he shifted in agony laboring to breathe. He was eventually seen and admitted right away, but in most emergency rooms chest pains are taken more seriously... Unfortunately, not here.
