This is our favorite coffee to buy whole bean by the 5lb bag. We buy it every 2 months and have for several years. We sometimes order online and have it delivered since it's 50 miles from where we live. On occasion we drive there for an outing but we will never eat there again. First off it's very unappealing inside. Dirty floors Cobb webs everywhere. Just a nasty feeling. I was eating a blah wrap and noticed all of the animal mounts hanging on the walls were thick with dust. Who ever owns this place needs to close for a couple of days and clean up the filth. read more

When I was out in Alpena, Mi, this place had easily became my favorite place to go to in the morning and sometimes for lunch. I will say the wait's a little long in the morning as this place is popular. I had ordered coffee and a breakfast wrap and luckily I had some work I could get done while waiting for it. The workers are all so nice and the people coming in and out were also amazed at the amount of souvenirs and merchandise. (Like I was) I was thinking about picking up a quarterzip as they're now in style. If I found myself in Alpena again, you'll catch me here the second I wake up. read more

This place is a heavenly find in Alpena- the coffee is very high quality and the food is eclectic and wonderful- My favorite so far is the frittata-ish snack- it's like an omelette met a pizza slice- I had the feta/spinach and it was amazing! (See pic) Ladies are all great too! read more

Please correct your hours on Maps! Pretty disappointed. I traveled from southern Michigan, looking for a hot coffee on a chilly day. Arrived 3:54pm. Maps states a 4:30pm closetime. A great coffee shop just a few blocks from the marina where we've docked our boat for a few nights as we make our way further north. We ordered the Farmers breakfast on a croissant & on a wrap. We did ask for a side of salsa, it didn't come with it, it was just our preference. It was very good. The coffee was also good. It's a quaint local spot & was fairly busy when we walked in, which was a good sign that it must be a good place. read more

My sisters and I went to Alpena for the fiberfest at the aplex. We wanted a small shop coffee and some food for friends at the festival. My sister ordered a oatmeal cream pie iced coffee. She received a hot pumpkin vanilla something. The sticker on her cup was correct but her drink was anything but. I went to order and told the person at the counter that I could not have any sugar or sugar substitutes. She said i could have a blended espresso with heavy cream. I asked to make sure no flavor or sugar right and she said no just coffee and cream. I got my drink and we left. My sister didnt tell the person at the counter her drink was wrong as the girl seemed new and needed help ringing a drink in. I did not try my drink wanted to wait until I got to the festival to enjoy my drink with our friends I got the food for. I took one drink and had to throw it out was full of sugar and vanilla flavor. Waste of money and drinks arent cheap. I sent a message to the coffee shop and the response was awful. Sorry you didnt like your drinks. Dont you mean sorry you didnt get our orders right. They also said next time tell us right away and we will fix them. Well hard to do when i am all the way at the aplex. Also maybe give your employee's som training and they didnt even offer to replace the coffees. Just sorry about your luck sorry you wasted money at our shop for something you coupdnt drink or enjoy. I work hard for my money and am in customer service and this would never be my answer to a customer. Lesson learned. read more

normally their services are awesome but I just went in after couple years of not going there and we arrived maybe an hour before closing for some coffee. my husband and I ordered two large coffees and they were made suspiciously fast. when we tried the coffee it was incredibly watered down...and I could tell it was not the same as before (I normally always order the same drink) the lady at register was visibly irritated and short with us. kinda disappointing visit read more

Got to hear the two women working complaining about having so much work to do since they close in 45 min. People kept coming in, and everyone could hear it. The food is nice and a lot of variety of options are available which is impressive for a cafe and not a full kitchen. The staff is friendly and and efficient. The lattes are unique and interesting to the area in specific calling out a shipwrecked mocha or a lodge latte. My sister and I both got the wrong order. My sister asked for a iced oatmeal cream pie coffee and got a hot pumpkin vanilla something. The sticker on her coffee was right but her coffee was way wrong. I told the person at the counter I could have no sugar or sugar substitutes. So I just wanted a iced coffee with heavy cream. She asked if I wanted it blended and I stressed again no sugar including substitutes and zero sugar. She said no just coffee and heavy cream. I also ordered food for our friends at the Aplex where there was a festival going on. I didnt try my coffee until we got to the festival and it was full of sugar. My sticker on my cup was correct coffee and heavy cream only. I had to throw the drink out. Wasted money and the coffees are not cheap. I contacted the shop and they said should have told us when you were here we would have fixed it. Kind of hard to do when I wasnt there when I tried it. Wanted to enjoy it with my friends at the festival. I said that I hadnt tried it at the shop and that I had waited. I was basically told tough. No apology. At first the person who I told this to said sorry you didnt like your drink. I said no they were totally wrong all the way around. Didn't like them wasnteven the case. Was really excited to try this coffee shop after a hot summer afternoon of hiking and biking. The downtown section where the restaurant is located is very cute and inviting. Upon opening the door, I was drawn to the interesting details and the warm, inviting feel. We are very conservative about our choices during the pandemic, so we were happy when the cafe was only lightly visited by customers late Friday afternoon, close to closing. When we stepped up to the register to order, it was disappointing to see the staff member wearing her mask below her nose. Not a promising sign of commitment as we ordered our drinks. We both ordered iced mochas and rated them "fair,". Nothing special, but cold, not too sweet and a good coffee flavor. A darker chocolate and less milk might have left a better impression. The desserts in the case looked tasty. In our next visit, we will try something warm to drink with a sweet treat. Look forward to trying them out again. Lots of seating options, inside and out. I came to this nice cafe many times in my first year in Alpena. I loved the turkey paninis always served with a healthy portion of turkey bacon and veggies. Today i got a turkey panini with the tiniest slice of turkey/bacon and hardly any veggies. I ate half wondering why i was so unsatisfied with it. I took the other half to the counter and showed them how empty the sandwich was. All of the women who work here are very nice and i am only directing this review at todays sandwich maker. She knows who she is. I dont take kindly to abusive "service" So--- on of the nice women who work there offered to have it "remade". However when i got the "remade" sandwich it was the same exact half i returned. It was disgusting looking and clearly meant to give me the big middle finger. I might also add that todays "sandwich maker" rudely dropped it on my table. I felt her treatment was abusive and i have been nothing but polite to every one there. I walked out without eating the disgusting food. The sandwich maker needs to work on her attitude. There is no excuse for the way i was treated. I will never return to this cafe. read more

Love this place! Great staff and wonderful coffee. Laid back atmosphere and quick for to gos. Lots of different brew and bean varieties. They let you use reusable mugs which is great! Plenty of seating and open when you need a pick me up. They have a selection of bakery type items as well for a breakfast or mid morning snack. read more

The wraps are very good. The pasta salad is amazing. The atmosphere is cozy. I've tried to love the beverages here, but after numerous attempts, I just do not. The coffee, even with espresso, is not strong, bold, or very flavorful in itself. I ordered a smoothie today thinking, how can I go wrong? On an 80 degree day, craving some icy cold goodness, the last thing anyone wants is a lukewarm warm smoothie. I'm not even sure how that happens when I was told the menu I ordered from was made with a "frozen" real fruit mix. If you want something akin to a sugar loaded drink that tastes nothing like coffee, you will probably love the drinks here. Otherwise, i highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat but skipping the coffee/smoothies. I'll continue to get the yummy food here but have given up on the beverage menu. read more

I was, luckily, referred here by the lady in the knitting shop, Yarns to Go, across the street. I generally look for little old mom and pop cafes to eat in but was sure glad to come in here today. I got some of their delicious coffee "Holiday Grog"), of course, some exquisitely delicious pumpkin-apple-something else I can't remember soup, some Farmers Strata, and it was a combo that came with a half chocolate muffin. Your tastebuds will thank you, and so will your eyes as you gaze upon the big game trophies adorning the walls. I'd also like to respond to Nikki's July 2016 review of Cabin Creek Coffee. Among other ignorant statements, she claimed the establishment is not a gathering spot for intellectuals. But my friends and I came here and all four of us scored above a 15 on the ACT, so clearly that is not true. The only thing hotter than the coffee are the women who work behind the counter.
