Have lived here for about 8 months now and have had nothing but a good experience! Amazing/friendly neighbors, fun events, great amenities (especially the dog park minus people not picking up their dog's poop), and staff is easy to talk to. The apartment itself has an amazing layout we are downstairs so our upstairs neighbors can be quite rowdy at times but I get it. Only issue is our sink and disposal seems to leak (from the previous tenant(s)) as well can get clogged from our upstairs neighbor if they put too much in the drain. Otherwise been a pleasurable experience and recommend living here! Location is great easy walking to nearby restaurants and grocery! Backed up to easy access for the canal so I like to take my evening or morning runs with the dog! Property is filled with animals which I personally love because of all the included nature aspects. Minus the cockroaches however the apartment offers free pest control every other week so you just have to opt in and email when you want it done! read more

I lived here for a year and during that year the staff remained very caring. There were a couple employees that really stood out, Jayden (admin) and Alfonso (maintenance). Jayden thoughtfully explained the contract and policies with me and even showed so much patience when I wasn't understanding what the paperwork meant. She made a huge impact that I'm super grateful for. Alfonso works really hard. He handled the repair requests fast and would even repair other things in my apartment that he could have left alone. They're a type of customer service we struggle to find anymore. My 2 bd/2 bth was about $450/month cheaper and bigger than the complex next to Cabrillo and the savings helped me a lot. read more

We've been living here about three years. I love these apartments. The grounds are one of my favorite parts of the complex. There are tons of flowering bushes, because of that we have an enormous amount of butterflies, pollinating moths, humming birds, and desert birds. There is a community of desert cottontails, and lots of quail families. You can hear the toads during toad season. You can hear the coyotes who live in the desert beyond sometimes. I love this. I am so happy when I come home and see a small flourishing ecosystem. The paths through the complex wind and weave. The trees are mature. Large flowering hedges abound. Jasmine bushes scattered through the complex smell incredible. There are lovely grassy areas and mature trees. The design aesthetic of the building is beautiful, sort of adobe inspired. The lights at night have a variety of color they cast. Some bulbs are yellow, purple, blue, dual toned. The grounds are beautiful at night. The dog park is huge! compared to any other complex I've ever seen, and they put in agility equipment. My dog(55lbs, a runner) can actually run around and play, jump up on the equipment. He has lots of dog friends, and there is lots of grass to walk on outside of the dog park. Basketball court gets refinished pretty regularly Location: It's walking distance to Albertsons, black rock, over easy and the little shopping and restaurant areas nearby. Khao is a great thai place nearby and the Mexican place is really good too. Walking distance to mountainside fitness. People in the office have always been nice, I get maintenance requests done right away, and during Covid they brought people their packages and left them at the door so we didn't have to go into community areas. The complex is so dog and family friendly. We have lots of dogs and lots of families. I find joy in this. I have never once seen cockroaches in my unit. I think people leaving reviews are complaining about bugs they are seeing that live outside. We are right next to the mountains, in the dessert. There will be bugs and insects around. This is a part of living near mountains. I have seen scorpions but not many. This is a part of living in Arizona, and again, the complex is close to mountains. I have seen at least one scorpion in every home I have ever lived in that has been close to desert areas and mountains. Unit. Patios are large, bedrooms are sizable, the "unrenovated" units are renovated. They have granite countertops, nicely painted cabinets, vinyl plank wood flooring, storage, they are very nice. The more recently renovated units are lovely as well white and clean, very modern. Overall we love it here. I am so happy in my complex it's so beautiful. We are worried that because it's scottsdale we will get priced out. We hope not. read more

Minus the fact I'm over paying for a poorly built unit, the maintenance team enjoys breaking the terms of the lease agreement by ENTERING MY UNIT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION on TWO occasions. I have proof to back up. If you live on the bottom floor, expect to hear you upstairs neighbor piss, shit, shower, and talk on the phone. As well as being able to deduce where that upstairs neighbor is in their apt at all times as you can hear each footstep. Further more, the communication from the management team is sub par, god forbid I receive any response from them during business hours. Also, the majority of dog owners can't pick up their dogs shit, especially in their dog park amenity. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

Let me start by saying that the apartment manager, Maria, is outstanding. If all of our interactions were with her, I firmly believe that our issues would've actually been handled. However, we had very minimal interactions with her, so unfortunately, things were absolutely awful here. This is the worst apartment my husband and I have ever lived in. The apartments themselves are so old and falling apart (unless you pay a ridiculous amount for a newly renovated one). They put bandaids on things to avoid shelling out a small amount of money to actually fix the issue. That is, if you can actually get ahold of someone and convince them to fix it. One of our closet rods was literally held up by a zip tie. There was a gaping hole in the master bathroom cabinet. The tubs has plaster thrown on them instead of being properly finished, so mold grew underneath their crappy plaster job. Pest control was the biggest issue for us. This property is INFESTED with scorpions, and they do not do enough pest control to fix the issues. On top of the scorpions, there are roaches, crickets, earwigs, snakes, and pretty much any other type of pest you can imagine, crawling all over the property. When they do manage to come spray inside your apartment, it does not deter the scorpions in the slightest. Nothing is sealed properly in the apartment, so the bugs walk right on in. The noise is also a huge issue. The walls are PAPER thin, and if you're lucky, you'll have upstairs neighbors like we did who pound around all the time. Noise complaints do nothing. Every single Friday, the landscapers come with leaf blowers and lawn mowers. If you are on the bottom floor, it's absolutely over the top. I work from home and complained several times that I cannot work with landscapers whacking away right outside my window. The assistant manager's response was "it's been this way for years and you should make other work arrangements on fridays." There are several small children that live near the pool, and they run around screaming all day, which only contributes to the noise issue. We had such high hopes for this place because we genuinely loved the layout of our apartment, but the staff let us down. Maintenance is a whole different story, they actually entered our apartment when we made it very clear several times that they did not have permission to enter. The leasing staff is rude and unresponsive most of the time (with the exception of my mentioned comment about the manager.) read more

Management was awful, wouldn't allow us at move-out inspection and upcharged everything. Told me not to patch a few minor thumbtack holes, then charged us $80 because they patched and painted those. Also charged $30 for a "damaged drip pan" from a hot water heater we literally never touched in the year there. Pool was basically unusable, because it was always occupied by grossly drunk elderly people most hours of the day. Utilities are charged in arrears and is based on building usage not personal, so be prepared to be charged 1-2 utility bills (nearly $300 for us) on move-out for no other reason than besides "we want more money from you" and for it to not be covered by your deposit. We were also terrorized by a neighbor blasting music every day from about 7am utill 11pm, and Management did NOTHING to alleviate the situation, even after said neighbor threatened me with violence because I asked them to keep it down. Police were at the complex almost weekly for complaints, vehicle break-ins, multiple instances of tires being slashed, wandering homeless people/vagrants, and overall felt like a little slice of Slumsville in North Scottsdale. If you value your money, safety, and quiet enjoyment, do NOT rent from Cabrillo Apartments. They care only about your money, not about you. (Also be aware, other positive reviews here and on Google seem likely to be fake bot reviews to boost positive ratings, so take them with a grain of salt). read more

I lived here for two years unfortunately after moving to AZ from out of country. I have now moved to a much nicer and newer complex, but here are all the details you should know before deciding to sign a lease here: 1. The monthly fees are deceiving. The base rent seems pretty cheap for the area. However, they tack on a ton of recurring monthly fees that make no sense. For example, $10 every month to receive packages. That's basically another Amazon Prime subscription people. I wasn't allowed to opt out even when I said I don't receive packages. $20 a month for a covered parking spot (rent doesn't include even one covered spot). Extra fees to pay rent online. 2. They regularly shut off water a week at a time rather than doing their maintenance one building at a time. 3. On top of all their monthly fees, the apartment water/sewer/trash bills here are ridiculous. Most complexes in Scottsdale charge $40-60 for this bill. Cabrillo charges over $125/month, and you pay directly to them rather than to an outside utilities company. Seems like a scam, I could pay DC Ranch/Camden monthly fees for less than that price and receive way more amenities. 4. No amenities, the lights outside the units don't work half the time. It really just feels like a run-down apartment building that's charging Scottsdale rent because of their zip code. The insides of the units are semi-renovated, but the outside isn't a real looker. Also, COCKROACHES EVERYWHERE 5. Move out fees and security deposits. Nobody at this complex receives their security deposit back because apparently they bill their utilities 2 months late so your entire deposit goes towards more water/sewer/trash. Also, I was told by the property manager that "Whether you clean your apartment or not, everyone will be charged an $80 cleaning fee and $50+ carpet fee. Makes no sense to charge if people actually clean. And I'm talking a deep clean - even if you make your place sparkle, they still charge everyone. 6. Their sprinklers are terrible and broken, gushing water out for hours at a time. They ruined my brand new car because their sprinklers kept going off and now I need to pay $200-300 to get all these hard water stains off my car's paint, headlights, grill. Thanks Cabrillo. Basically long story short - the rent here seems cheap at first glance but after you tack on all their monthly fees and apartment utilities, you can probably get a much nicer place in Scottsdale that won't nickle and dime you. Also you probably just won't be very happy living here with the terrible grounds, terrible amenities, and terrible policies. If you do feel compelled to live here, work with Ira in the leasing office. He's pretty responsive and reasonable. read more

I'd like to preface this by saying that I lived at Cabrillo from November 2019-November 2020, and I didn't leave a review when I left. However, even after so much time has passed, it haunts me still that I didn't leave a review when I had such an excellent experience there. Picture this: a 19 year old girl trying to leave her roommates and get her own apartment for the first time in her life, rife with questions and anxieties and just generally has no idea what she's doing. That was me. I went in for a tour, and the woman who took me around the complex and showed me the unit (she had dark hair and I think her name started with a J? Maybe Jessica?) was so easy to talk to and made me feel instantly at ease. She answered all of my questions--even the ones that I knew were stupid questions but had to ask them anyway--with patience and kindness and without judgment. She explained how billing, utilities, trash, packages, parking, etc. work, and she did it in a way that wasn't overwhelming or misleading. She was very up-front with me about how the base rent that is stated on the lease is not all the money you'll end up contributing toward rent. She didn't try to hide all those other fees from me; she outlined them clearly, gave me ballpark estimates, and added them all up for me so I'd have a better idea of what I'd actually be paying every month. I don't know if she knew that I had no idea what I was doing, and that's why she was being so wonderful, or if she didn't know what a mess I was, but still went out of her way to make sure I knew what to expect. Regardless of which one is true, she truly went above and beyond in helping me get my feet under me and prepare myself for what I needed to do. After I left that tour, I immediately knew that I wanted to live there, just based off how she had treated me. At the countless other complexes I visited, I had never been treated as well as that. After that initial tour, I periodically stopped by the office to drop off documents and other things that I needed to give them, and I was treated with the same level of respect and kindness that I had received on the tour. Again, my stupid questions were answered, everything was kindly explained to me in a way that I could understand, and I never felt like they just couldn't wait to get me out of their hair. I was so excited to finally move in. My living experience at Cabrillo was very pleasant. Whenever things broke in my unit, I'd make a maintenance request and they would promptly send someone out to fix it. The person they would send was always kind, not creepy, didn't give me any sort of bad vibe, and my dog even liked them, so that's a pretty big green flag. I didn't have any trouble with scorpions or cockroaches or beetles or bugs of any kind, really. I did have one massive, man-eating spider get in somehow (that I had to ask my neighbor to kill for me because I was too afraid to get anywhere near that monstrosity), but that was the only "bug experience" I had while living at Cabrillo. But that brings me to another topic: my neighbors. I'm not good at socializing or talking to strangers, but there were so many people who lived in my area that I genuinely enjoyed talking to. We'd stand in the grass and chat about random things, go to the dog park and let our dogs play together, etc. The people there were just so nice. I mean, I can't imagine going to any of my neighbors at the place I live now & asking them to come into my apartment at 11:00pm to kill a bigass spider that I'm afraid is going to eat me. That just wouldn't happen. If I hadn't needed to find a different apartment closer to work, I probably would've stayed at Cabrillo for several more years. I loved the location, the office staff, the maintenance staff, and my neighbors. The dog park was very well-done, decently clean (eh you know how some people are...just won't pick up their dog's poop), and very big too. My dog had so much fun tearing around there and running until he couldn't anymore. Overall, I've lived in 5 different apartment complexes now, and Cabrillo is the only one I've lived in that I wanted to live in for a long time. If my circumstances change, I imagine that I'll come back for round 2--living here was that good. Do yourself a favor & at least take a tour. I moved across the country to AZ just a short time ago and Cabrillo was on my short list when I came out to view apartments. Because of the prompt attention by the office staff, I chose to live here. I dealt with Jenny almost the entire step of the way and she was absolutely the best. She was (and is) prompt with her communication and really personable. I've also spoken to several others in the office and they were awesome. Any concerns, questions, etc have always been handled or answered promptly. Any complaints I may have or had are merely minor and have nothing to do with the staff or complex. They are more generalized observations I've made due to living in an apartment/shared space with others. I worked in property management for 11 years so I knew what to expect, when it came to living in an apartment, signing a lease, etc. But you don't have to have any of that knowledge when working with the staff at Cabrillo - they are very thorough and there is no hidden agenda or costs. It's common sense folks, read your lease and ask questions! The pool is great, it's currently open 24 hours (as is the fitness center) and both are rarely crowded. Everything is clean, all common areas are kept up with pride. There is a parcel room, just next to the mailboxes for any packages you get, so nothing is left at the leasing office or your door. The location, for me is a plus. It's not far from my office and traffic seems to not be a hassle. There are PLENTY of places to shop around here, and eat. It's not far from different mountain trails either, which is what I required when I moved. The complex is sort of tucked away with a few other complexes and it's very quiet - the area, and the actual complex. I still don't know if I have neighbors! The views around the complex are nothing to complain about either. So far, so good Cabrillo! I invite anyone looking in the area to check this place out. read more

We have been living here since July 2019 and absolutely love it. The community is quite and has beautiful landscaping. There is a 24/7 pool and fitness center. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. Huge shoutout to maintenance team here, I'm super impressed at how fast they get requests done. Mason is great! As well as the other maintenance person, I'm not sure of his name. The location is great too, you could walk to Albertsons if you wanted to. The unit we have has a nice cozy feel to it, we like the layout and the nice gray accent wall. The nest thermostat also is nice, you can control your AC/Heat from your phone! I will be moving to a smaller apartment to try and save money and Maria completely understood. She is not like other Managers at other apartments who just want you to go bigger and make more money. She looks out for the resident. I was so confused on what I owed and didn't , but Maria is smart and kind. She never makes you feel stupid. The apartment I am going in to is so cute. It has a fireplace and full size washer and dryer. I am currently in a very large apartment snd it is way too big for me. Actually, the entire office staff is amazing. Ira, is a hoot and he has the best after shave. He will do anything and everything to help a resident. He has a kind heart. The place is immaculate and the grounds are beautiful. I have never felt threatened there and this will be my second year here. I hope to make it my home. My apartment is near the office, so I hope the staff knows I will be visiting. The complex is in the perfect location and is next to everything. Walking distance. Again, make sure you meet Maria when you drop in for a tour. I just wanted to follow up with my previous review. Cabrillo was very responsive to my concerns. It definitely seemed like they really wanted to make things right. As for the lights being out, the guys that were re-doing the sidewalks apparently cut an electric line that ended up taking a couple weeks for the electric company to fix. Not Cabrillo's fault, but the guy I talked to in the office could have communicated that to me instead of blowing me off. I haven't seen him in the office for a few months now, so I'm assuming he is gone. As for the grass and sidewalks, they were in the middle of replacing parts of them and laying down the winter grass seed. Being that I've only lived in AZ for 6 months now and I came from OH, I didn't realize that was a thing out here. I did have a very brief run-in with a cockroach in our apartment. It was huge and I screamed like a little girl while my boyfriend took care of it. We assumed it got in when our AC was replaced with the new system or when they changed our locks (at our request). We only found one since then and Cabrillo was EXTREMELY responsive when we told them about it and came out and sprayed literally the next day. We have had no other issues with it, so I'm not sure I agree with some of the other reviews and how they talk about it being a problem. I'd also like to add that I NEVER hear my neighbor below me; although I can't speak to whether or not she can hear us. As for the hot tub and pool, they were not closed for 5 months. That's an EXTREME exaggeration. It was closed for less than a month while they resurfaced the area and is back up and running. I hope people reading these reviews take them with a grain of salt. When someone has a bad experience, they'll tell everyone they know, but it's much more rare for people with good experiences to tell others about them, which is why I felt compelled to update my review. Overall, our experience over the last 6 months has been great and I would recommend Cabrillo to anyone who wants a spacious, well-lit, affordable apartment in North Scottsdale. They have changed up the staff in the office and added some awesome people and got rid of some not-so-awesome. Clarisa is just fantastic! She always has a smile and seems genuinely interested in making our stay here amazing. She got things straightened out with our rent within the first couple days she was here and just goes above and beyond. The other girl in the office (I can't remember her name) goes out of her way too and I always have a pleasant experience with her. I hope they're both around for years to come! :) We really do love it here and plan to stay until we eventually buy a house. read more

The apartment itself is decent. Cheaply renovated with a poor paint job, but in comparison to the area it is lower in cost so it's expected. The front office staff, on the other hand, are horrible. I did move in mid-way through a management change, so some of my experiences may be different, but I'm very frustrated. When I moved in last year, the garbage disposal was backed up and poured muddy sewer water all over the sink and dishwasher. The back door was broken. Both showers leaked to the point where I had to take baths. The dryer was broken. We submitted our intake maintenance form and waited. Nothing happened, so I spoke with the front desk who said it would be fixed. And waited. And waited. I had to contact the manager who then explained it was lost and they never got my request. The manager was responsive, and had things fixed within a few business days. Day-to-Day living here wasn't horrible. The new management team wanted to work on a lot of things like checking water coolers, vents, changing out the air conditioning. Rather than doing this all in one visit, they scheduled multiple days in multi-hour gaps that they would show up. While this is already an inconvenience as they give you a whole day so you can't expect to be home, they require you to do something with your dog the entire time. They have a "deal" with a nearby pet resort. I know they are trying to fix it, but they could be more organized rather than expect residents to pay for a dog day care every time they feel like tweaking something. And to the point that has really driven me to share my experience - moving out. The WORST moving out process I have ever dealt with. We spoke with them multiple times to make sure that things went smoothly. As our lease ended during the month, rent was to be prorated for 5 days rather than the full 30. Rent posted - it wasn't. I called the front desk four times, left a message, and finally got someone on the fifth. She said it would be fixed by the end of the day, and that she would give me a call Tuesday about my additional questions as she needed to speak with the manager. End of day - rent is still not fixed. We call the next day, and she gives us an amount to pay and tells us that based on the weekend it wouldn't update until the following Tuesday. We waited. By Tuesday, still not fixed. By Wednesday, our bill listed $111.82 in late fees on top of the 987.36 that was over what we were to be charged. I called her that day, and she told me she would have Wanda, the manager, call me that afternoon. By 4pm, there was still no call. We check the site and our log-in to view our bill had been erased. Knowing they close at 6pm, we called again, and we were told by the same front desk female that Wanda no longer worked there. This was a difference of 6 hours. I have now written an email complaint to be contacted by a manager because nobody here has any sense of follow through or customer service. If I knew moving out would be this horrible, or that the front desk would be completely unresponsive, I would've moved to one of the other apartment complexes in the area. read more

Great managerial team and upgraded property. They try hard with the periodic socials and events. Laid back and generally quiet complex. I would give a 4.5-4.75 stars but decided to give 5 due to the Cabrillo team. So far, my experience with neighbors have been cordial as they are respectful of noise and hours. Of course, there are the occasional boneheads who are thoughtless, but that's separate from the property. Timely handling on property fixes and nice pool and facility. If you have a choice, try to pick upstairs units as the walls tend to be thin and people walking around upstairs can get a bit loud even for basic things. I am rarely around during the day, so I can't comment on the noise level then, but overall great. read more

As the mom of a future tenant that will be renting on her own for the first time, Id like to thank the office staff for the time they took with my daughter. From the time she called to inquire about the community to the application process etc. they were very informative and helpful. My daughter even mentioned that she chose this location between others because of how she was treated by Wanda and staff. I see from past comments that new management was definitely needed and that since that time the reviews have consistently been positive. Seems as though new management is paying for past management's mistakes and trying very hard to change the culture. Im happy my girl will be a part, and know she is in good hands. read more

Poorly and cheaply renovated apartment. The tub was resurfaced and the paint bubbled and peeled. Management on ,y final walk thru asked why I didn't report it, what a stupid question. This COMPLEX will nickel and dime you to death instead of being all an inclusive rent. I have witnessed the worse management company ever. The gym has only one channel...CNN.... what the hell. If you a considering this place because you think the rent is reasonable, RUN far away. Don't make the mistake that I made and be locked into a horrible place like Cabrillo. read more

I'm a current resident at cabrillo. I'm about to move out due to the fact that I lost my life partner due to complications as a result of diabetes. I live in a two bedroom apt and now as a single person i can no longer afford the cost. Both of us were on the lease yet cabrillo will show no compassion or humanity and expects me to be 100% liable for the remaining time under contract. is this the type of place that a future resident would want to live at. I think not. I have tried contacting nicki, the manager explaining to her that I was transferred by my company and that I lost my fiancee yet she does not care or more specifically cares more about what money they can get out of me . This is about being a human being and not a business. They do not care about there residents here! in addition the hot tub has been out of service for like 5 months so do not believe them when they say it will be fixed soon. They are not telling the truth. also the pool is out of service half the time and the grounds are always a mess. the ceiling at every unit are thin and you can hear everything above and below you. it is awful if you are not on the same time schedule as your neighbor. since this new company has bought cabrillo 7 months ago my experience here has been awful and I 100% regret moving to this facility. Do not move here you will most assuredly regret it. they do not care for their residents once you have signed the contract . so do not sign here. read more

From the first moment I contacted Cabrillo I was blown away with there response time and customer service. I am unable to speak to the previous management, but the staff in the office was both responsive and courteous. The grounds are beautiful and the neighborhood is very quiet so far. In the 8 months that I have lived here, the apartment complex has been sold to another company (called Apartment Management Consultants... could that sound any more corporate?) and we are now on our 3rd set of manager/front office staff. You can guess what that means for you as the tenant - impersonal service where you are simply a customer, not a resident of a community. Simply put, my experiences with the management conveys the fact that they really don't care about you. - Despite having weekly pest service, this place is crawling with big cockroaches. - The office finds a way to nickel and dime you for any new "service". Want to pay your rent online? There's a fee to sign up for that. Want to be able to pick up your packages from the office? There is a fee to sign up for that too. I'm sure they will come up with more great new "services" to charge us for. - The pool is often closed. - The water randomly goes out. - When they need to access your apartment for mandatory inspection, they won't tell you a specific day they are coming. Instead they give you a whole week that they might enter at any time during the day, which means locking up your pets and personals for that whole week. - The apartment grounds are covered in dog feces. This is not the management's fault, but I can't believe some tenants struggle so much with the idea of picking up after their dog. The dog park is practically unusable because of this. I am looking forward to not renewing my lease. This apartment complex is cheaper than others in the area, and now I know why. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more to live more comfortably. read more

After reading all of the comments on Yelp, I'd have to say pretty much everything is true. We have the SAME roach problem, we have had about 5 in the house in the last couple months. I called the office to see if they could do something and she suggested to close the drains every day? - That's it. I see them EVERY night, they are everywhere. So gross. I read the feedback from the manager responding to these yelp reviews and they make it seem like it is so easy to get a hold of the office but it is NOT. They hardly answer and if they do, whatever you need doesn't get taken care of lol. I am 5 months pregnant and I had 4 work orders (3 I requested over the phone, 1 I went in and asked) in for someone to come unclog the shower because I kept slipping in the shower. Finally my AC started leaking so I had to call the emergency line and begged the man to fix the shower while he was there. Every time I go in there is different management, that is understandable, but didn't the last person leave a note somewhere? It seems like they are over worked and everyone is always blaming things on someone else. I have lived at Cabrillo for over 4 years now and I never had to wait like that for them to fix a problem. We don't even have a renovated apartment and our rent keeps going up, then add the roaches and poor management, it has really gone downhill. Pros of Cabrillo - Our apartment is at the back and the view is beautiful. It's very quiet and we are very close with all our neighbors. They also just put in new plants around the property and it makes the property look very beautiful. The pool, office and gym are nice. They also have a 1/2 basketball court and a dog park. We do enjoy being here but for the price mixed in with bad management, we are excited to try something different when our lease is up. read more

I'm so disappointed in this place since new management took over! They are rude and not caring we've told them that the people upstairs are jumping all day! It sounds like they are going to fall through the floor. There is a family of 4 that lives up there a mom and 3 kinds in a two bedroom! If your poor come here because I'm pretty sure it's section 8 I've had a work order in for 3 days and they have not even came once to see what is going on!! Which the one toilet in our bathroom is over flooding which I'm pretty sure it probably from being dry for the 9 hours the other day when they shut off the water without telling anyone! I just recently moved here from another state and my experience with Cabrillo has been great!! Cabrillo was recommended by my employer due to their employees being satisfied with living here. Cabrillo worked with me while I was in another State and made my apartment hunting and application process so much easier. Renee is a great help and is always immediately responding to my emails and calls. The staff is very welcoming and always makes sure I'm satisfied with my apartment. I love the apartment complex it's so pretty and always well kept. On move in day I was pleased and excited to see that the apartment was in great condition. The walls were painted, no holes, and most important to me was that the carpets were super clean. They made sure to tell me that if something didn't look right to notify them and they would be glad to put in a work order. Renee and her staff are quick to respond to an issue or question I have. Everyone is very friendly and the maintenance men have been very helpful and super friendly, whether it's helping me find the gym or the laundry room. Overall, I am so glad I found Cabrillo. I wouldn't want to be living anywhere else. :) A month in and I can truly say that I feel comfortable, happy and safe living here. read more

I wanted to say this place is awesome . The staff treat you with respect and they understand how to give great customer service. I moved here to az because of my health. And they definitely make you feel at home. And my dog also hot really comfortable within a week which shocked me . They are always on top of any questions we have or when we had an issue they fixed it right away .No place is perfect but I can say they are very very close . I am very excited with our new home and look forward to being here for many years. Thank you for having great communication skills and a great maintenance team . This is by far the WORST property I have ever lived at. The management and maintenance at this property are a joke. The people in the office are extremely rude. It is quite clear that they do not care about the residents in this complex. Things fall apart constantly and nobody wants to do their job to fix anything, especially after 4pm or on the weekend. You are pretty much screwed if you have a major issue on the weekend!!! Don't be fooled by the new "upgrades"...this place is garbage. DO NOT move here...run...fast! This is by far the worst apartment complex that I have lived at! The office staff are incredibly rude and act like you're bothering them whenever you ask them to do something. The apartments are poorly constructed and the upgrades are a joke! I lived here when the old management was here and for a few months when Greystar took over. My lease couldn't be up sooner! Went to the office today with my granddaughter looking for an apt for her....there was only one terribly unconcerned staff member there....he said that the online prices went up and that there was nothing to see.... This apartment is the worst apartment I've ever lived in. We have changed management a total of 3 times and the last two have been appalling. Although I am glad to get rid of the last management as they were the worst. The new management's customer service is slightly better but still so appalling everywhere else. The only member of staff that seems to know how to treat people with respect is Josh. Clarissa, who I think is the manager is appalling. My ac was out for two weeks and they refused to do anything about it for 12 of those days. They sent random guys into my apartment and all they did was tell me to change the setting when I had it on the same one for the full 2 weeks and it was the correct one. They didn't give me a portable ac unit until the last day. I physically had to move out for those two weeks and stay with a friend because it was so bad. I had a 8 month old puppy, I couldn't leave him there for 8 hours a day. When the rent came through as did my electricity bill and it was huge because it was trying so hard to push the air through. My bill was almost $500 and it came through the same day as the rent. So I obviously was late with my rent. I explained the situation to Clarissa and she literally had no sympathy and told me to pay it the next day or I will be getting a court date. I asked for an extension or maybe a reduction for the issues I dealt with. She didn't even hesitate and out right said no. Is this really how you run an apartment complex? I really miss the first management, they did everything perfectly. This management is just awful and just really don't seem to care at all. The water randomly goes off all the time without notice. The new management introduction letter that was sent was really threatening and I was told to lock my pet away for a full week because they couldn't decide when to enter my apartment. I work 10 hours a day so I had to have looked after by someone else. This complex is just getting worse and worse and they will try and charge you for everything. Ridiculous. After living 5 years in Cabrillo Apartments this community recently have taken a nose dive with recent management changes. They have imposed extra fees for many services that before were part of the rent such as: pay for water, monthly pet fee not just the deposit, mandatory insurance, a fee to pick up mail packages, etc. Plus the maintenance service quality greatly declined, service maintnance orders take longer, the pool has been out of service more than ever, some part of the building has no light in the outside for weeks making it a security and safety hazard. For a one time noise complaint my neighbor got a notice of eviction that send him In in a tremendous stressful experience. The management said that it was normal procedure to send that without any previous warnings. Extremely unprofessional!. In short I do not recommend this community to anyone anymore. read more
