I've tried every reasonable route to work with this complex, and after being ignored again, I feel I have no choice but to share my experience publicly. Since late 2024, I've lived with an intense sewer odor in the second bedroom and bathroom of my apartment--strong enough to be smelled outside and making it hard to breathe or feel clean in my own home. I submitted multiple work orders (12/17/24, 1/8/25, 1/16/25, 2/21/25, and 3/7/25), made phone calls, and received written acknowledgment from the office. Their solution? I was told to flush toilets and run water despite having done this for several months. I've since become aware of multiple other residents who've experienced the same issue, confirming it's not isolated to my unit. In March, my A/C broke. I reported it immediately and despite being given a portable unit, I was unable to keep the temperature in my apartment at a habitable temperature   On April 10th, weeks from the initial report, my apartment was entered with zero notice. I was told that my apartment was entered without my permission because my repair was a "emergency" despite being reported nearly three weeks before. I was also informed that I would need to pay a fee to reschedule. That kind of retroactive justification made me feel disrespected and unsafe. After all this, I sent a formal request to terminate my lease early. Management did respond--but instead of taking accountability, the letter deflected responsibility and blamed me for delays. Following their reply, I sent another message asking to negotiate a reasonable lease break to avoid legal action--but that request has gone completely unanswered. I've paid my rent, documented every issue, and followed every step to resolve this. I'm now preparing to pursue legal termination of the lease. This review isn't retaliation--it's transparency. If you're considering moving in, I hope this gives you a clear sense of how serious issues are handled here. read more

I'm very torn about this complex. Superficially: love it. Interior of the units? Could use some updating. One of the dryers I saw has a small opening & all I could think was how I would not be able to get a large blanket in there & that would defeat the purpose of having a washer/dryer in unit. Small things were noticed like cracked electrical outlets & a few dead bugs. However, parking seemed like it wouldn't be an issue. It's a super residential area which makes me exceptionally happy. Floor plans appeared to be fairly spacious & there were lots of shelves & storage spaces. It's on the list but not sure how high yet. read more

RAT PROBLEM, DON'T LIVE HERE. Around middle of September, my roommate and I found rats in the kitchen/laundry room area. It is now Jan 9th and pest control just came by and found some rat activity under the sink and set up more traps. Management has been absolutely no help and their only answer is "pest control will take care of it." WELL ITS GOING ON ALMOST FOUR MONTHS. They also expected us to just deal with it when rats are an extreme health hazard. They have provided no other living accommodations and wouldn't even let us back out the lease early. Here is a photo of a rat sometime in October from my roommates own camera. For almost 2 months I haven't lived here, and I still sometimes have stayed over at a friend's here and there because I could hear rat activity. Can't wait to get out of here. Also, I found a dent on my car which will cost atleast $500 to fix. I suspect it's from the garbage man, because I had parked by car at a parking spot right by the garbage Gate. Management was also not helpful then either and I still see people park their regularly even though they said they would take care of it. Overall, the management here has been unhelpful. Only good thing about this place is maintenance, but again, unless you wanna live with rats, I recommend another looking to live elsewhere. read more

I was racially profiled and discriminated against at this business/apartment complex. My application process was excruciatingly painful. Terrible communication, doesn't return calls, holds apartments for transferring residents even though they didn't pay the fees. Then one of Ana's employees, Alisa told me I wouldn't FIT (being Asian) in the community and then they penalized me for a THREE month employment gap despite of having met income, excellent rental history, clean background and good credit. Took some time off earlier this year to care for my family, all the while I still paid my current rent car, car payment, and all bills on time. As sympathy after the agent, Alisa insulted me, she offered me to have a consigner. I haven't had co-signer in over 25 years Why would a person need a co-signer with good employment, good income requirements, good credit, excellent rental history, clean background and verifiable references? Ana and her staff made it pretty clear that they were profiling me at this "luxury'" property. I'm Asian so therefore I don't belong in North Scottsdale. read more

The back pool here is DISGUSTING and has been this way for weeks!!! I have lived here for 10 years and I've never seen it look this bad!! Myself, and others have been complaining for weeks and NOTHING has been done about it!! We pay insane rent to live here and there is absolutely no reason why our pool should look like this!! This is a good location and the office staff is generally friendly. However, rents have soared in the past few years, but the quality of the apartments remains comparatively low. Log everything when you move in because they charged me an additional $200 to resurface their piece of shit bathtub that was already chipped when I moved in of which I had informed them at the time. Such pettiness gives you some indication of what kind of company you're dealing with, as does the pet deposit ($200) the pet rent ($40--what, exactly, does this cover?), and the $3000 fee to break the lease a month early (they'll really be hurting!). Keep in mind that your air handler may leak 3-4 summers in a row and wreck a bunch of shit in your closet if you're not vigilant about asking them to flush the condensation lines regularly. Avoid this grift if you can. read more

This review is 5 stars for Tomas, another great maintenance employee at Ventana. He has an amazing work ethic and it's always great to see him wave and say hello. He keeps our apartments working, no matter how rainy or hot it gets. Once, he went out of his way to fix a leak for us in the cold winter while it was pouring rain. He was soaking wet and we offered him a hot tea, but he wouldn't take it, he was so polite. Great apartment community! The office staff (Tara, Talin, and Shamail) are so kind and respond so quickly! Every time I've call, it's always answered by then on the property and they always sound so welcoming and kind. The grounds are well kept (other than I wasn't too happy when they cut the trees last summer so much) but still beautiful nonetheless. The have a pretty great fitness center too. The maintenance team members are outstanding! Ample amount of parking spaces! Anytime I've had to put in a request it is always done same day or next day. They are amazing! The staff at the office and in the maintenance dept are the ONLY positive about this place. The celings leaks every time it rains. In our particular unit it would leak into the walls as well. They turn the water off for repairs at least once a month sometimes for several days. They raise the rent to pay for improvements that they never do. In the 3 plus years we lived there I didn't see any improvements. My husband became disabled and we were told by staff that we could break our lease early without penalty because of his disability. We moved as scheduled and corporate turned around and sent us a bill for almost $5000.00. And immediately to a collection agency. Corporate is terrible. I have lived here over a year and have had bronchitis for six months of that year. There is black mold somewhere although their maintenance people are really inept. My refrigerator still doesn't work the compressor is going out and every time the refrigerator shuts off it sounds like it's going to explode. Management and I use the term loosely people in the office are absolute bitches and are good for nothing. Please save yourself and do not move here it is a throwback from the 80s, And belongs in either South Phoenix or somewhere in the homeless part of LA. This review is 5 stars for Nick, one of the great maintenance employees at Ventana. He has not only taking great care of us always with a smile on his face, but he truly cares about the people who live here. I have seen him go out of his way, help elderly people with their groceries, he even gave a yard party outside an elderly tenant's home to put a smile on her face during covid. And, he's done many more great things than that. He works hard in the Arizona heat so that our ACs and water and everything that can go wrong can keep working. I hope that the management truly knows what a great guy he is and what a great work ethic he has. I lived in ventana for 3 years and loved it. Things are not new or modern but that's why it's so much cheaper than everything else in the area. Worth it. They keep the property clean always and everyone there is very nice. I did have quite a few issues over the years because things were older and wearing down but they were usually pretty quick to fix them. I wouldn't call it "luxury" like the sign says but it is definitely worth the money especially for the location it is in. read more

My wife and I moved into Ventana in 2015. After few months in the apartment we have faced issues with pest which required a Pest Control treatment, the office staff helped us with that and after two days of treatment everything pest was gone. All issues were carefully addressed by Ashley and her staff, I have nothing bad to say about the maintenance guys, they are really great. Also, when my wife and I needed to move into a first floor apartment they were very supportive in finding one for us, we were really afraid of moving again to a new community. I also agree with few other comments here that the Management of this community must start a complete appliance update into the apartments as well as cabinet updates. Moved out after 4 years at Ventana and there are the hidden charges of $600+ my Direct deposit went toward that charge and I left with $484 to pay. One of the charges that I'm sure there was no damage was the counters charge of $190 and when I called to ask about it I got an attitude of the IQ data international lady that's associated with Ventana, by saying "I'm wasting her time and my time" well she's getting paid for her time and she was the one wasting my time by not answering my questions.. I asked for pictures to prove the damage and said we don't have it and if I don't pay it I will be contact by the collection .. I paid anyways. NO. JUST NO. GROSS. UNPROFESSIONAL. This was our first apartment. We were so excited to move in, but little did we know how horrible it is. First day in the place, we looked closely and saw that they didn't clean the place. And they said it was new carpet, but it had cat pee stains, the carpet smelt like cat piss, there was cat food and hair in the carpet. Fun fact, i'm extremely allergic to cats. I had to sleep elsewhere until they finally came out and had them cleaned. Which then made the place smell like wet cat. then, the pipe under my sink burst and soaked the carpet. We requested several times for the carpet to be replaced, but they kept saying they had already been replaced. I think they believe we are stupid or something. Then, my closet flooded because they age of the drain line running through the ceiling. The gentleman who came and "fixed" it went under our sink and emptied the drain line. He did not address the soaking wet carpet in our closet that smells like mildew. He did not address the metal piece in the ceiling that looks like its coming off. He did address the massive amount of mold growing around the metal piece i mentioned prior. He did not address the crack developing in the ceiling from the water damage. I tried to direct him to the closet and just reassured me that everything would be fixed by draining under our sink. I had to throw away half of my closet. My school yearbooks, my clothes, my childhood stuffed animals and memorabilia, my shoes, I HAD TO THROW IT ALL AWAY. I wanted someone to come fix the closet, but they just came and left a fan under the carpet (never came and got it btw). With the amount of issues this apartment has given us, I am shocked that the building is still standing. The amount of times we have had our water shut off in the building, our window not being able to open, our sink and bathtub clogging every other month, the mold that was here when we moved in that WE got rid of, the new mold growing in my closet, the pipe under our sink bursting the day we moved in, the staples in the carpet stabbing my feet because it was not installed correctly, the DISGUSTING HVAC filters that were here upon move in that blow dust everywhere, our refrigerator leaking all over our kitchen, our washer leaking all over too, the fact that the apartment was filthy when we moved in, and the fact that the carpet had cat piss stains/cat hair/cat food and a nasty smell when we moved in. We had a newborn baby living in a death trap excuse for an apartment. My sisters car got keyed by someone and my boyfriends car was almost broken into. Front office shrugged it off and just said "sorry we don't have cameras." Also, there are creepy men sitting at the pool watching. The stairs look about ready to fall apart and are covered in rust. Bugs everywhere of all kinds (gnats, mosquitos, cockroaches, hornets, bees). And don't even get me started on the SRP bills. $400 for a 950 sqft unit. Oh, and we paid 200 bucks for Cox and only pay 100 for the same level at our new place. I'm so glad to have left. Bet you they won't give the security deposit back after cleaning the crap hole for 5 HOURS and will try to charge us to replace the carpets. During the eleven months that I lived in this complex, there were several maintenance issues with my apartment, one of which caused approximately $1,000 in damages to my personal property. I strongly advise that anyone who does move into this apartment complex purchase renters insurance, as the complex has a no liability clause in their contract, which means that their insurance policy will not allow claims from tenants and only covers their own structural issues. Among the issues I experienced: - 2 major water leaks from the apartment above mine, causing significant flooding of my walk-in closet - Regular water leakage and foul odors of the dishwasher - Flooding of the main water lines in the parking lot - Flooding in other apartments causing the building's water to be shut down To their credit, the maintenance team is very quick to respond. The mold control aspect following the flooding was not handled properly causing a horrible odor. The carpets were inadequately cleaned and the ceilings were improperly treated to correct for mold growth. A week and a half later, the odor remains and I am unable to use my walk-in closet. Due to these issues, I am moving out of the complex a month early and willingly paying rent in two different complexes to get away from these issues, as soon as possible. I've never experienced this many maintenance issues in an apartment complex in a single year and would advise others to use caution when contemplating renting in this complex. As one neighbor said when we were discussing the flooding problem, "there's a reason you see so many moving vans in the parking lot." Update - 03/12/14: A member of the property management informed me that the major leaks were caused by faulty repair by a contractor the year prior, which would require major repairs. A month later I stopped by the office to check on mail and was told that no major repairs were underway in the complex. This gives me pause because given the size of the flood and the potential mold damage, there should have been significant work occurring. Again, I'd caution individuals who wish to live in that area to look at the many other complexes nearby, as well. I've spoken to others and since learned that there are complexes offering one bedroom apartments with similar amenities at the same price point nearby. read more

Definition of "luxury": the state of great comfort and extravagant living. Let me first start off by saying I seriously doubt anyone living at Ventana so-called "luxury" apartments would define the place as being either a place of "great comfort" or "extravagant living." If you're truly seeking some semblance of modern living, don't go anywhere near this lowest-rung-on-the-ladder north Scottsdale apartment complex, as this place has dollar-store standards but with Beverly Hills' prices. Living here was about as much fun as simultaneously biting into a tasteless, mealy apple and listening to fingernails slowly (and painfully) screeeeeeeeeeech across a chalkboard. To summarize, The Top Ten Things (among others) you'll adore about this place if you love such things as: - Apathetic, so-called "management" that typically does virtually NOTHING substantive about complaints. The fact is that THEY JUST DON'T CARE! Naturally, they say they care, such as when they get a negative Yelp review; but talk is cheap and their words are as hollow as a giant beach ball. - Getting to clean your apartment before you live in it (e.g., expect to find such things as clumps of hair clogging the shower drain, a grease-splattered stove and microwave, etc., etc., etc.) - Leaky ceilings whenever it rains. (Management blamed this on improper roof repairs, but our apartment was on the 2nd floor, and the problem was never fixed over 12 months. So who's really to blame?) - Bedroom windows that are just baby steps away from the stairways which feed four 2nd-floor and four 3rd-floor apartments. Meaning: 1) there's absolutely not one iota of bedroom privacy (especially if you're on the 2nd floor) unless the drapes are closed tight, 24/7/365; AND 2)routine sounds right outside the bedroom window of the thundering of your neighbors pounding up and down the stairwells like a herd of stampeding elephants at all hours; as well as your noisy, obnoxious, and disrespectful neighbors who will also scream and yell (as though they're in a loud, crowded bar with their voices blasting away like rifle shots) right outside your bedroom at all hours of the day and night. - Sky-high energy bills from bottom-of-the-barrel-ultra-cheapo single-pane windows, from a drafty front door and fireplace, and from old appliances. - Exceedingly loud creaking and squeaking floors emanating from incessant, back-and-forth pacing of the insomniac neighbor above you; as though you're living in a creaky, squeaky haunted house with rotted-out floors. - Rusty, corroded sink faucets and pipes that incessantly leak (reminiscent of the armpit of substandard living), and patently ridiculous claims from so-called "maintenance" people that new materials are supposedly "out of stock." (So order them!) Coupled with an equally absurd claims that they'd have to "shut off the water to the entire building" to replace a faucet. Really?! Seriously?! Can you say "slum lord"? - Ants overrunning your apartment that don't pay one red cent in rent. You must learn to love them like your own kin or you'll go stark-raving CRAZY! - Getting to pretend you're a time traveler because of ancient appliances with some pretty serious whirring, buzzing, clanking, cranking, and squealing issues. Though, supposedly, each year you renew your lease you get one (allegedly) "upgraded" appliance. (Maintenance people can routinely be seen shuffling appliances around the apartment complex like musical chairs, moving the most-ancient appliances into apartments with new tenants.) This is what passes itself off as "luxury"? - Hordes of immature, uncouth, and noisy fast-food workers crammed into a single apartment. Expect lots of rude and thoughtless behavior from such people. Overall, I would compare this housing, given the zip code, to the Yugo (i.e., the infamously inferior car) of north Scottsdale apartments: substandard, ramshackle, dilapidated, low-rent, and second-rate. And I would SERIOUSLY QUESTION any Yelp review that says this place isn't so bad; or that every apartment complex has issues (but are those issues cringe-worthy?); or that they have no complaints about the place; or, get this: "Haters gonna hate." Did you come up with that one yourself? I guess when you have no standards/boundaries anything is okay? Of our many issues with Ventana, only the design of the buildings (e.g., bedroom windows by stairways) is not the fault of management/ownership. From the leaky ceiling to the burgeoning ant population, management does nothing meaningful to improve the place; which is not "luxury," it's more like mediocrity redefined. And, given that it's north Scottsdale, where standards are high, and rents even higher, I advise my fellow Yelpers to keep looking. My two thumbs are down, way, way, way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down for Ventana so-called "luxury" apartments. Leaving here was like a deep breath of fresh air! Good bye and good riddance!!! So far, I have only experienced good things here...from the office staff which they are all nice, (I will say though, Tara is absolutely outstanding), to the maintenance staff, Tomas, Claudio and Nick! You guys ROCK! Besides being so nice and friendly, they have addressed all issues in a timely fashion. I really love living here...Plus..I'm 3 miles from work!!! I am a current resident (only four long months to go before I can move out). This is the worst place I've ever lived. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I agree with previous reviewers; I've had maintenance to my apartment at least once a month since I've moved in, if not more. AC doesn't work well, mold in the ceiling where venting is. Appliances are CRAP. Have to run dryer 2x to get anything dry. Stove top works only when it wants to. Had to have dishwasher 'replaced' (no doubt from another apartment) before even moving in. Cost of my electricity has doubled since moving in, and I have equalizer payments. Black dust (toxic??!) blows out of every vent because of course in 20 years they've never been cleaned. Learned after moving in that previous tenants in apartment were two triathletes; trust me, that smell is STILL present in the master closet. The carpet is disgusting; been here 10 months and I still won't walk around in bare feet. And the ants. Once when my kitchen was absolutely overrun with them, first office staff blamed it on rain (I live on second floor), then said sorry, pest control was out the day before and I'd have to wait a week for them to spray. I couldn't have ANY food out or prepare any food so when they said I'd have to wait a week, I just about lost it. Told them I would file a complaint so they finally agreed to send someone out that day. (BTW, when they want you to sign the lease they tell you pest control is done regularly. Once you're in, you find out they don't do squat until you complain.) They sell you on a "family owned" complex; all that seems to mean is that they're LESS accountable. This place is a dump; do NOT move here. -Writing this review now because after 118° day, and my AC running ALL DAY, and I mean every minute except when I shut it off to reset (and then it wouldn't start up again), my apartment is still not cool, and the thermostat is consistently reading three degrees over what it's set at. (One person on maintenance line said if I want it to go off, to turn it off myself.) And have had resident maintenance tell me 2x today, well it's hot out. Really??? That means AC should run every minute unless turned off manually?? Like I said, go elsewhere if you want a decent place to live. "Luxury" here is a (not very funny) joke. 6/20/2016 *Update* So now I've been told that it's "normal" for an AC to run CONSTANTLY in hot weather. I don't mean a lot, running and stopping continuously, I mean NEVER NOT RUNNING. I live on 2nd floor of a three story building, north facing, blinds ALWAYS closed, never using oven, and dryer only for linens (mornings or late evenings.) And I'm supposed to accept AC running EVERY MINUTE OF THE DAY. (Maintenance answer was to turn thermostat setting up and say, see, it shuts off.) Brilliant. AC co. also said this is "normal"?? And, was also left a vmg that because two vents were partially closed, that caused AC to run CONSTANTLY. (Vents adjusted by maintenance, not me as stated in vmg.) Previously lived in a home (15 years) with twice as many windows, four times the sun/heat exposure and vents closed in unused rooms and NEVER had this kind of issue with AC. So far, not one word from complex manager about any of other issues. 6/21/26 AC running as it should, turning on and off per thermostat setting. No rhyme or reason for how this unit works. If vents being opened or closed were part of the problem, why is AC now working as it should?? Still no word from complex mgr RE other issues. 6/28/2016 ***SEE PHOTO OF TWO INCH BUG JUST FOUND UNDER AREA RUG IN MY DINING AREA. *** It's a good thing I have cats or that thing would probably still be crawling around. Ventana Apartments - I don't know what the heck this is but just found it under area rug in dining area - at Ventana "Luxury" Apartments in Scottsdale. - Apartments Near Me - Scottsdale, Arizona

I'd like to start off by saying that it was nice in the beginning. Not 5 stars but our view was nice so it made up for the stained and leaky sinks as well as other little details they overlooked (paint, etc.) After one year of living there we started to see things go down hill even more once we renewed our lease. It seemed like every week we had a notification on our door letting us know they were working on a water main or pipe issue and that it would be turned of during a certain period of time until it was corrected. Not sure if it ever was. We actually moved out 3 months before our lease was up but we weren't allowed to break it so we just stuck with paying rent at two places. While we lived here my wife and I were planning our wedding and were constantly picking up items from the front office and while we were doing so it seemed like the staff was always changing, like clockwork. Also, there were many deliveries that they messed up and ended up putting the wrong apartment number on. When we would ask them if they could double check since we had a confirmation there was an attitude about it. In the end one of the workers (who was the one who would get upset) tried to blame the mail woman for this occurrence couple of times. Our ceiling leaked during big storms (which frequently happen here during monsoon season). Our faucet to our sink broke...and by broke I mean it rotted and when we would turn it on it would squirt all over everything. I'd also like to mention that it seems like everyone but us had a dog, or two, or some even had three that would bark all hours of the day and night echoing through the complex. I also witnessed two hit and runs in the parking lot while living there. We received a call about a month prior to our move out to schedule our walk through. Then, the day we went to do the walk through the lady who answered asked me where our unit was in the complex (red flag)...we showed up and no one in the office looked familiar. Come to find out none of the staff was permanent and they were all from different properties filling in. We did our walk through and they said nothing while we were in there. Once we got back to the office they said they would notate the carpet was stained and the ice bin was not cleaned. They said they were going to charge us for the ice in the ice bin...after we turned our keys in and "notate" the 5 year old carpet having stains. The woman who did the walk through never passed the hand written note along to the next interim manager so when I called she had no idea what I was talking about. This next person also told me another manager was starting on the following Monday and she would pass along her walk through notes which were VERY different than the person who we did the walk through with. I have lived in many apartments and through my college years to now and I have never had a place try to nickel and dime me like this. I've always cleaned the place and left it like I received it and always received my full deposit, but not here. About a week later we received a call from a person who worked there saying that she got our information and that she would love to give us a tour and that she was sorry she missed us...a TOUR!? We moved out?! Long story short...if you get a weird feeling about this place I would suggest following your gut. read more

Give this place a chance. In a whirlwind of bad reviews, I will now stand up and say that this place deserves a chance. Yes, it got bad for a few months with management that did not follow through on much. I will be the first to say that Jodi and the new team that Gaines has brought in is a 180 degree difference than the previous team. read more

Excellent staff nice neighbors great neighborhood. I've been here almost 9 years now and the maintenance is awesome they strive to get maintenance issues dealt with quickly. The office staff is very nice read more

I moved into my Ventana Luxury Apartment on 1/22/16 and LOVE it! Ok, so maybe 'Luxury' is slightly exaggerated as the appliances are from the Flintstone era, but I had brand-new carpeting installed prior to my arrival and the place was immaculately cleaned prior to move-in (and TRUST me when I tell you..I am a type AAA personality;-)). TONS of closet space (2 HUGE walk-ins) were the key feature for ME (you guessed it..TOO many clothes/shoes!!) Matthew at the Leasing Office was extremely friendly and professional throughout the entire application and moving process and all of the neighbors I have come across are friendly and quiet (with the exception of a 'yappy' dog with stealth hearing who starts barking EVERY time you get close to the apartment..even if you;re tip-toeing!;-(). The location is great with easy access to Raintree and Cactus to get on the 101 and tons of shopping in the area. Had an issue with my A/C a few weeks ago and within 2 hours of my submitting my repair request online, Handyman Nick was at my door and fixed the issue which was on the roof! Aside from that, NO issues whatsoever! Very quiet neighborhood, love the ability to pay your rent online, and they always have 'social gatherings' for the residents (which I have YET to attend, but I WILL soon!) Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt..Haters gonna HATE..and give it a chance. I was glad that I did and am VERY happy to live here! read more
