I think I had too much hope for this place. At most it was alright. I've been here twice now. The first time I picked up the very interesting Muffin ice cream which had a really interesting texture and was extremely decadent. I thought it was good. A bit too much for my tastes but perfect for Chocolate lovers. I wanted to try the other flavors but the next time I came back they only had a small selection. I also got some caramel latte which I also thought was good. My second visit was more disappointing. I was itching to come back to try the beautiful cakes on display. To my disappointment, they looked way better than they tasted. My friend and I were able to try 4 different cakes, and none of them were amazing. The best one was the caramel pecan cheesecake, and the rest (raffael, orange chocolate, and cacao) were mediocre. They tasted stale and not fresh at all. I also got the Tango, an alcoholic ice cream beverage with Baily's, vanilla and chocolate ice cream, syrup, and whipped cream. Although it sounds amazing, it was really gross to be honest. Even at 120 crowns, I took one sip and I was done. The best thing is still their gelato, which again they had limited flavors. We got the strawberry and mango yogurt. The strawberry isn't bad. TLDR: Mediocre & not as great as it seems on Yelp. Go somewhere else if you want good cakes. They do make for great pictures though. read more

Had their famous "The Decadent" hot chocolate. It was absolutely delicious, and by far the most flavorful hot chocolate I've ever had. Service was very pleasant and all of the staff spoke great English, which is an added bonus for a non-Czech. Highly recommend! The location is lovely, too. read more

Lived up to the hype! I got the chocolate cake- it was layers of chocolate mousse with cacao powder on top. Absolutely fantastic! Hubs said the cappuccino was just as good and I ended it with a natural juice. Opted for the antianemic- apple, carrot and red beet. :) read more

I ordered a Decadent Hot Chocolate with a chocolate mousse and raspberry cake. The cake was absolutely delicious and I enjoyed every bite. On the other hand, I couldn't finish the drink as it was extremely thick and felt like I was drinking fudge. It was very good but the texture was a bit too heavy for my taste. I waited a bit for a table to open up but service staff was very friendly. All in all, it's a recommendable place for a hot drink and a dessert. read more

Coconut-chocolate-frozen yogurt was definitely a winner. Not quite as heavy as the gelato in places like Amorino in Paris, but still a moderately light and refreshing dessert to contrast a lot of the heavy tasting Czech cuisine in Prague. The location is great too, next to the Palladium and other major shopping malls. read more

Cacao is on my way to the gym so I stop here several times per week. The coffee is great and the prices are outstanding. It's actually cheaper to sit down for coffee here than to pick it up from one of the stands outside of Palladium. The quality is better too. This place is amazing! The atmosphere is so fantastic and the food is even more fantastic. The lady behind the counter didn't speak a lot of English, but was still able to help me well. We sat outside because the inside of the store was warm and it was nice outside. My tiramisu arrived an IT WAS AMAZING. It wasn't too sweet, but wasn't bitter. Cacao is definitely a chic upscale cafe! We came here for a late breakfast and it was phenomenal. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. The was tasty and for the 2 of us we spent $24 for 2 breakfasts and espresso and coffee. I would suggest the asztec coffee! Very tasty! Besides being extremely affordable for such a nice place the food was very tasty! I had the avocado toast with smoke salmon and tomatoes it came with a poached egg. Boyfriend had the American breakfast. 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, beans and bread with butter. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the sausage and bacon were really tasty! They have fresh squeezed juices and great coffee drink selections. The place was clean and service was fine. However, they stop serving food at 1pm as the waitress mentioned but it looked like they were still taking orders up till 1pm. They also make their own ice cream. We didn't try it but it looked good! After a 4.5 hour train ride from Berlin, my friend and I arrived in Prague hungry and unsure of our options. Thanks to Yelp, we quickly found Cacao which was just a short walk from our hotel (hotel fusion) and headed out. We arrived and were promptly seated. The service was friendly and polite. We both ordered a baguette sandwich (why is all bread so good in Europe?!), with a Czech beer. The food was delicious, and paired with the beer, a perfect introduction to Prague. read more

While visiting Prague we were sometimes a little overwhelmed trying to decipher menus without English, and at first glance the daily menu was all in Czech, and with a name like cacao we figured this place was only desserts and coffee we wanted something a little more substantial for lunch and were about to walk out when the manager approached us and asked in English why we were leaving. He took the time to give us a quick walkthrough of them menu and made sure the staff gave us anything we needed. The lunch specials that day, a spaghetti with bacon and shallots and a pesto couscous were both fantastic and really excellent lunch portions. The desserts were also really decadent and they know their way around an espresso machine. I can't recommend this place enough for lunch if you're near the Palladium mall. They actually do have an English menu as well we just didn't initially see it, but they will really go out to help you yet still somehow seeming like a real euro experience, which some Americans can perceive as indifferent at best, and downright rude at worst. read more

4.2 stars. You might think that this cafe nestled between the Marriott and Hilton hotels and the Palladium mall would be a mediocre tourist spot, but that's not the case. Service was friendly, especially for Prague, though occasionally inattentive. I had a chicken Caesar sandwich that wasn't really what I expected, but was very tasty. The ingredients were high quality and fresh. The eggs were good as well. Perhaps because we were unable to satisfy our gelato craving the night before (they closed early to do monthly inventory), our server gave us enormous amounts of the frozen dessert. I had Nutella and banana. The latter tasted exactly like an actual banana; both were thick and tasty, possibly some of the best in Prague, but not quite at Italy/France level. The interior decor was a tasteful mix of old and modern, and the cafe is located quite conveniently. Prices are moderate. I'd definitely like to come back and try some of their interesting frozen drinks. read more
