THEN to add salt to the wound, I had to cancel my reservation and they charged me for the room!!!!!!!! We had a great time here. We try to go for our anniversary every year. The dealers were great. Everyone in the casino was very helpful. A lot of fun happy employees in this place. My wife & I were looking for a place to stay as we were traveling to family for Thanksgiving 2025. We have driven by this Casino/Resort a few times before & we decided to give it a shot. Our room was nothing spectacular, but it was clean, comfortable and quiet. We felt it was a good value. All of the staff we encountered were polite & helpful. I did try my luck in the casino...didn't win anything, but had a good time. Again, the dealers, bartenders & drink runners were awesome. We would stay here again....I would not consider this a destination, but it was nice. (We didn't try any of the restaurants because we got in a little late. On a side note, this place uses MOUNTAIN TIME ZONE even though it's in Pacific.) read more

Cactus Pete's is not dog friendly hotel, which is kind of a bummer. I think you can bring your dog in because I have brought mine in a few times, but you can't stay there... you have to stay at Horseshu across the street. This is where things get interesting. So, I called them about booking a room. There is a fee to book a room over the phone, but "You can do it online!" First of all, this is a joke. I went online to book a room at Horseshu and I almost could not. I ran in circles and jumped through hoops until I got a room. I called to make sure it was booked because this process was harder than it should have been. Oh, you have to check in at...Cactus Pete's. Wonderful. I arrived and checked in and I had to drive across the street after given written instructions to where my room was....this was also difficult. My room was in the back and the entrance. I hated this because I had to bring my luggage down stairs with my dog. I also had to bring my luggage up the stairs to. I had a hard time figuring out where to go, but got the hang of it. There was a gentleman there who helped me find my room. The hotel smelled very old like my grandparents old house. It had old carpets and old benches that tells you just how old this hotel is. There's no casino that I could find inside or a place to grab a bite to eat and return to your room. I wouldn't leave my dog alone here because I could hear the dog in the next room. You can hear people next to you. I think I'm going to find a motel there next time because this experience was less than reasonable. It's like you are punished for traveling with your dog. read more

I need a zero stars. We checked in to get a few hours of sleep while passing through. When we checked in. We found out the room was across the street from the actual hotel, which would have been less of an inconvenience if the room had been clean and nice. The bathroom had blood on the counter. Went to use the one accessible plug behind the bed and there was crumb and lord knows what else, plus a full unsmoked cigarette. They gave us another room next door which was barely cleaner. Then when we forgot a pillow in the previous room. They were supposed to get the pillow for us. They said 30 mins. We waited an hour before going to sleep and they never knocked on our door. We asked again at check out and had to wait for someone to run across the street and grab it from the room. read more

I stayed at Cactus Pete's for my birthday and enjoyed my stay! The room was nice, it was updated and didn't feel gross. The distance from our room to the pool was awesome - right out from our patio. We ate at the Desert Room for dinner. Dinner was actually pretty good for casino food. The service was fast and friendly. Breakfast at Desert Room was not the same at all! My breakfast was just gross and that's all I can really say about it. The bacon was the only thing that wasn't burnt or tasted burnt. Everything else, pancakes, eggs and the sausage were all terrible, but the service was nice. The only negative, other than my really bad breakfast, was the cigarette smoke. We don't gamble, so we didn't spend much time on the floor, but to get to the restaurants, you have to walk through the casino and the smoke is really bad. With the Delta Variant spiking and two more additional variants detected... management looked out for best interest of all! Kudos to them! At their coffee shop, we liked acrylic dividers between tables to protect diners. All staff was masked up and gloved. Good. Coffee Shop 24/7 Food: 1) Buffalo wings - juicy but soggy. A bit on spicier side. 3 1/2 stars 2) Fries- hot, not greasy and real. 4 stars 3) tacos - asada steak bits were tender and flavorful. I pulled into Cactus Pete's Casino Hotel late on the eve of Father's day looking for a room. But it was booked solid, as were all the hotels, motels, boarding houses, B&B's, and mangers in Twin Falls Idaho, and Jackpot Nevada. So I did what any survivor would do, tuck myself away in the back corner of a their parking lot, and set up home for a night. I had come prepared for such an eventuality, so it wasn't that drastic of an issue. I found Cactus Pete's parking lot to be clean and quiet. I wouldn't say that I slept like a baby, but I felt safe in my Subaru slumber. However, I kept having a dream of being harassed by a slot machine. I couldn't figure out who in the heck Franklin was. I felt that I was in a Twilight Zone episode. If there was any doubt that Nevada has reopened to their customers, let me dispel that thought. The casino was bustling with the sweet sound of laughter, mixed with the chiming of hundreds of one armed bandits ( come to think of it, most slots don't have arms anymore. So I guess "armless bandits"?.....don't let an "h" slip in front of that, because they still take your money, and they definitely aren't harmless). Everyone seemed to be having fun. It was music to this reviewers ears. Even the cocktail servers had smiles on their faces. Oh, and by the way, you can see people's faces. No masks. We stayed at the Horseshoe. We expected the room decor to be dated - we understand the Horseshoe is the "low rent" hotel associated with Cactus Pete's, so we did not have high expectations. The bed was sagging, but tolerable. The room heater/air conditioner had no thermostat or timer on it so we had to get up several times to adjust the unit in order to maintain a tolerable temperature. This would have been less of a problem if the covers on the bed were not so thin and/or there had been extra blankets available in the room. When we attempted to remedy the issue (request more blankets) we could not get the Cactus Pete's front desk to answer the phone. Again, I get that the Horseshoe is not meant to be high-end by any means - but a couple very small changes would make a cheap hotel stay more comfortable. read more

My husband and I have been going to jackpot for years. It's a fun designation for trip close to home. Over the years it has changed a lot. Service is less, rooms never been improved, less places to eat. We have complained about sink and tubs that don't drain. But it falls on deaf ears. We decided to give them one more stay. Our mistake! They comped us a room (which was nice). But halfway home we get phone call from them saying we took vanity mirror. Since only mirrors in room were hanging on walls that made no sense. Did they think I brought screwdriver and took mirror off wall and carried huge mirror out of room. Long story short not only are they charging my credit card for mirror, now they are charging for room too. What a rip off. We will never go back and will share our story with everyone. Dirty.. That pretty much sums it up. Stayed for one night on our way to Vegas. Had both kids with me who have dust allergies. We had to change rooms. The valance above the windows was covered with dust.. All the baseboards in the hotel are! Don't run your finger over the headboard! On April 30th, 2024 I stayed at this hotel on my way to Montana. My friend and I were met with courteous staff. The hotel's older but the room was clean. I'm picky and I think it was clean so take that to heart. The next morning at about 0600 we left and 10 hours later I was in Billings Montana and discovered I'd forgotten my bag that I keep my medicine in. I called the hotel and was directed to security. They had my bag with my meds. I filed a report. 13 days later we came back through. The amazing staff at the front desk got my bag, checked my ID and no kidding comped our room for the night. We paid only the taxes. $10! We went on to win nearly $1000 between the two of us and had a blast. Desert Cafe has some of the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. This will now be my go to stop on the way to Montana. Very nice staff, good food and we were treated very well. I could not ask for a better experience. read more

I don't understand this casino. A few weeks ago, I had a dealer who appeared to be under the influence of some drugs. Cracking his teeth and red eyes. I told some of the waitresses about it, but they said they would call security. They never spoke to me, and I never saw them on the floor. A few hours later, my cousin got kicked out of the casino. Security never explained to us why we are being cut off. I told them about the dealer who was high. Security started becoming argumentative with me and my cousins. Security said that they were going to call the police if we didn't leave immediately. We only asked a question, and the security officer said that he was not going to waste his time explaining. I feel it's because we were reporting a possible OSHA violation. We were just trying to be helpful cause the dealer was having a hard time paying us out, too. We went to bartons 93, and they said that Cactus Petes doesn't even drug test their employees. No cap, I think this place is shady ass hell. I'm going to report them to the Better business bureau. Security said that we were trespassed from going to their property. Law enforcement never came and we tried calling but we were directed to twin falls. 311 doesn't work at Jackpot. Just another shady thing about this town. I recommend going to bartons or dottys instead. Shady casino. The security guards there lack training and are rude and disrespectful. read more

We were staying across the street at the horse shoe. When we got to our room we saw the bath tub was backed up and clogged. We talked to the management at catus petes. The manage Aaron was so nice and upgraded us to a room at catus petes. It made my birthday weekend so much better. I feel like they really cared for us and were just a pleasure to talk to. We stayed at overnight at the hotel after having dinner at the hotel restaurant and gambling in their casino. The couple in the room next to us proceeded to fight all night and were extremely loud. We called security multiple times and finally got up and left at 4am after it was clear the hotel was not going to ask them to leave. Terrible experience after we spent money gambling and on a nice dinner only to be kept awake all night and have the hotel do nothing. We were not offered any compensation or even a cup of coffee for the road for our nightmare experience. We won't be back !!! read more

I had a wonderful experience at Cactus Petes! During a drive from California to Idaho, I stopped and spent a night at Cactus Petes. I was welcomed by friendly staff at the front desk. My room was ready the moment I arrived (2:30p) and it was lovely. Well furnished, clean, and not dated at all. I was impressed. The bed was huge and very comfortable. There was a vanity area with a huge mirror, a separate make-up mirror, a blow dryer, and lots of towels of all sizes. In addition, there was a full bathroom (shower in the tub) and another vanity. I thought this was such a great touch for 2 people getting ready at the same time. There was also a full-length mirror - You don't always see that in hotel rooms and I loved having that. I was in a non-smoking room and while there were smoking rooms on my floor and I could smell the odor, I never smelled actual cigarette smoke and my room was completely odor free. I spent some time in the casino, and the fact of the matter is that folks can smoke indoors in NV. That is not the fault of Cactus Petes. I'm a non-smoker and while I could smell smoke, I never thought it was overpowering. In fact, I changed clothes to go to the casino because I feared I would smell like smoke after a little gambling - I didn't. And to tell you how much I obsess about smoke, I brought a Glad bag to put my smokey casino clothes in when I had to pack for the rest of my trip. Guess what? my clothes didn't smell. I was able to wear the sweater I gambled in again later in my trip without smelling like smoke. I had dinner in the one on-site restaurant (I'm assuming the other restaurant and big bar are closed due to catching up from COVID and the employee shortage in the US) and it was great. The waitress asked how our food was, I pushed the tacos at her and told her this "street taco" just cut my lip, showed her...and SHE ASKED IF I WANTED ANOTHER ONE?!? Seriously!?!! No!!! I can't eat now I need ICE! She asked my husband how his prime dip was...it was disgusting dry meat? on a drier bun...with microwaved fries. She came back with a bill and said..."I give you discount for the taco, 3.25, OK?, your bill was 38$ see, now it 34 something!" I looked at the bill, and it has a fucking MILITARY DISCOUNT on it. I had a great experience this weekend to see Joel McHale. Check in was an easy breeze! Thanks Lexi! Everyone around the front desk was friendly and smiley! Way better than trying to check in at Vegas! Lexi explained how we would be over at the Antelope, it had it's own pool area, and other information. We drove over, parked in the back, and loved how low-key it felt. The room was cute! Mind you it is NOTHING fancy. But the beds are comfy, the windows open, had AC and we were content. We grabbed some of our beers and headed to the pool in the Courtyard. Pool area is wonderful! SUPER mellow, and lots of sun loungers. There is a sitting ledge around the shallow end and I appreciate that! The casino floor is def. the nicest in Jackpot. Fun slots, lots of tables, and the poker tables are in the Sportsbook area. NOSH serves $6 pepperoni personal pizza and I am a happy girl! Thanks for the fun weekend! read more
