I thought we were staying at a basic hotel off the hwy with good reviews but I was seriously wrong! The carpet was filthy & had bumps underneath. The a/c was loud & leaked water when it was on. The tiles around the ceiling air vent was clearly needing repair but when I pointed this out to the manager, she claimed she did't know it leaked & just brought me towels for the floor. I asked to be moved to another room & was told there was no other open rooms. Then literally an hour later someone checked into the room next door! It was extremely loud from cars/trucks on hwy all night! I was so grossed out & barely slept but there was nowhere to go at the point we checked in. I tried to find a place but nothing nearby came up. I will NEVER stay there again & warn others to reconsider..... Its one thing to be outdated & simple but it should be clean. read more

This is a fun blast from the past. I'd guess it was built in the 60s or 70s. No modern amenities. Falling apart. Uneven floors. Noisy because it's right by the road. Floors uneven. Room is small. But it reminded me of when I was young and traveling cross country and when motel rates were $10 for the night. I remember those days fondly. The great thing about this place, besides fond memories of a time gone by, is it's welcoming. The owners are simply friendly people. Strangely, being noise sensitive, I had the best night's sleep ever with the best dream I've had in a long time. read more

I love this place. It's a vintage motel off the highway. The beds and bathroom are clean. The room has a fridge, microwave and flat screen. Vern checked us in and we made it just in time to see the international space station flying over. The Alamo Inn is charming and very welcoming. read more

This hotel may not be much to look at but it's clean, comfortable, and safe. We were on a road trip from Idaho to California when it started storming so we decided to call it a day. From the moment we walked in the office Vern, referred to as uncle Vern buy another customer I was chatting with, was friendly and warm. I will definitely make it a point to stop here on each of our road trips from now on. read more

A group of 5 of us were working on completing the E.T. Highway Geocaching Mega Trail and decided to use Alamo as a base of operation for the first half of the trail. We got two rooms at the Alamo Inn, one for two of us and one for the other three. Both rooms were pretty rough and if there had really been more choices around, we'd probably have moved but there is only one other place in town (double the price) but they couldn't accommodate us. So we spent two nights here and all agreed it was the lowest quality lodging any of us have ever stayed in. Our toilet wasn't bolted to the floor and it could fall over if you sat on it and leaned. Ceiling was rotting and falling in, the bed was lumpy and the bathroom was something I'd expect in a prison environment. See pics. It was pretty noisy too with tractor trailers zipping by on the highway right outside and some pulling and idling in the parking lot. The good side, the price was on the low end and the front desk folks were very friendly. read more

The last few weeks have been very stressful, I have been packing my things and moving from Washington to Arizona. My car was full of my things and a tired kitty who needed a break from the road. I stopped off at the gas station and asked if there was any rooms around here. I am about 100 miles outside of Vegas. The lady at the counter said that she had stayed in a cute little place about five or 6 miles down the way whe she first moved to Nevada. She said they took really good care of her there. She told me it was called the Alamo. She was right! Vern Holiday is the owner. He made me feel welcomed and comfortable. It was too late for me to get anything to eat and I was so tired from the road. Vern actually made me a plate of spaghetti and delivered it to my door. I have to admit it was the best damn spaghetti I've ever eaten in my life. :) Thank you Vern. Your service and hospitality is outstanding. I really needed that. :-) On another note this is during a time when the coronavirus is ramped. The room was very clean, Vern told me the precautions he is taking to make sure that this virus does not spread at his motel. It's an older place so don't expect to be modern. But do expect it to be charming in its own right, with people who truly care about the comfort of your stay. Thanks Vern!:) P.S. It was very quiet too! read more

We had been driving for quite a ways and needed somewhere to rest up. This place has the most friendly staff that is very kind and helpful! They do have great WIFI that is very fast and super reliable! Would definitely recommend if you need a place to stay! read more

My grandmother and I stayed here passing through to Arizona. The rooms were great, plenty of towels, warm beds and Vern was extremely nice. As a business traveler for 30+ years I've stayed in thousands of hotels, normally in the Marriott or Hilton brands. This gem is right up there in terms of clean and comfortable. Very clean nice little motel. Comfortable beds and great air conditioner. Lots of hot water although the shower was small, the shower head had great pressure and was directional. Coffee in office only but the room had a microwave and my travel mug is microwaveable so with a little pre planning I had my morning coffee before the office was open. Rooms have refrigerators also. Nice place. Will definitely stay here each time we travel this route. read more

This is the kind of place I love to find. Reasonable rate- clean, comfortable. You will note the interiors are a bit dated, in some cases shabby. But it's clean. You'll have a fridge, microwave & wi-fi. There's no coffeemaker in the room, but it's made for you at the front desk & it's surprisingly good! (And I'm a bit of a coffee snob.) No hairdryers, but soap, shampoo provided. (Motel 6 in Tucson offers far less for more $$) read more

I was driving from San Diego, CA to Elko, NV and wanted something roughly halfway between the two. I also wanted to avoid Vegas. Reviews didn't sound bad for this place, so I gave it a try. The Good: Clean, no bugs, AC worked, had a small fridge in the room, TV, and the WiFi actually worked. Motel is the type where you can park right in front of your room. Carpet looked pretty new. The Bad: Not much really. It's a cinder-block motel, nothing fancy, but a good price. Vinyl floor molding in bathroom coming loose a bit, but nothing to cry over. Bathroom had old-school wood paneling, which is more humorous than anything else. All in all, I've stayed in plenty worse, and would stay here again if passing through. read more

To say this is acceptable or unacceptable motel is subjective. Does this place beat sleeping in the car for my pregnant wife and me? Yes Is this place "super clean"? No, but the towels felt great and smelled awesome! We are lucky to be traveling with our own pillows and just used what we brought. Glad there was availability here because it's not worth it for us to drive through the night like we could when we were younger. I do not regret stopping here. It's a welcomed feeling being able to get fully horizontal and shower on a road trip from Los Angeles to Boise. This places feels honest in that you get what you pay for. read more

Exactly what we needed at 11:30 at night. A motel with a super clean room, hot shower and reliable wifi. The room was super clean, looked like it had been freshly painted and restored. Decor was funky-awesome, and if you have an issue with it, you're being picky. Bathroom was also clean. Everything worked just fine, and the shower was as hot as wanted. Wifi = good. Hard to come by at a Motel in a small town like this. Employees were very friendly. This isn't a Best Western, or a Holiday Inn (and you won't stay at one of those for $55), but it's in a super small town, with pretty much no other options in any direction. So if you're passing through Alamo and need a place to stay, don't hesitate. read more

Rooms include comfortable seating, microwave, refrigerator, fast wifi, and cable TV. Cook something simple in the room or consider the Alamo Diner a block west of the gas station. Gas and groceries are located on the highway just south of the Alamo Inn. When I stay in Alamo, I always stay here. read more

This is a wonderful older Motel. The accommodations are nice, it is a nice large room. The room is extremely clean. The motel owners are extremely friendly, and ask if they could help me get settled in. The only downfall I have found so far is that plugs for charging your devices are at a premium. The free Wi-Fi is wonderful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

I read all the other reviews about this awesomely ran motel. I have nothing I can contribute without repeating what others have said. You don't only get what you pay for and expect, you get tons more. Staff was super friendly and came down to the room to turn on the AC. to get the room cooled down for me and my wife. That's never happened to us in 5 star hotels. The towels seemed new, white, and smelled fresh. So here's the deal... If you ever find yourself down this way, as we did... Remember the Alamo! We needed a place to stay between Eureka and Vegas. This is a nice motel and the only thing negative about it is that it doesn't look the best on the inside. There are water spots in the ceiling in several places and the carpet is old and tattered. Our queen size bed was very comfortable, the linens and towels smell good, and the place is clean. Refrigerator, microwave, telephone, and free Wi-Fi are included. The gentleman at the desk when we checked in was very courteous and polite. We would stay here again. read more

This was close to halfway on my trip from Tucson to Boise, ID. It was pet-friendly, so I booked a room. The management was very friendly, and the rooms did not smell of mold or mildew. However, the door was thin, so I could hear every conversation and all the cars pulling in and out. It was also not a strong, secure door, so not great for a woman traveling alone. The plumbing in the shower looked somewhat rusted, and the paneled walls made the room seem very outdated. The room they had originally booked for me was not ready, so they gave me the pet-friendly room with the stained carpeting. After leaving, I discovered there was a nicer looking hotel just a mile or so up the road that is also pet-friendly. At least my room fee was only $49! read more

I was met at the office by a very nice man who answered all my questions. My room is clean and nice, nothing fancy, but has excellent wifi, microwave, fridge and comfy bed. The price was affordable. Happy to find this friendly place in the middle of nowhere. Cute and quaint. Painted cinder block walls (I love exposed brick) and old fashioned wallpaper were the decor; restroom was immaculate and appeared to have been recently renovated---the whole room was clean and with comfortable beds, microwave/refrigerator and reliable WiFi. Don't think they had an ice machine, but met a nice couple staying a few doors down who shared their ice with us. (There is a full service gas station/convenience store just down the road where you can pick up just about anything you'd need, as well as an awesome Mexican restaurant just a bit further down.) Seemed to be a family run place and hands down the most adorable member of the family was Bella, the tiny and super friendly Pomeranian who insisted on coming out to greet us. It was a pleasure to stay in this little town in this little inn. read more

NO, NO, NO...we don't recommend. We stayed here on our way to Boise and ended up in room #2. I can't say anything about the other rooms but my gosh, this room #2 was just terrible. Ceiling is caving in from water damage and the bathroom has the same kind of damage. Big water stains to view while laying in bed and who knows how much mold behind it. Bathroom floor was a wreck and the ceiling light didn't work well. TV Remote didn't work, blankets were thin as paper and very old. Ancient wall heater was spuing out dust and room curtains were very dirty as was the carpet. We slept in our clothes and bolted out early morning. For $55.00 I know you can't expect much but holy heck, can it at least be clean? read more
