This isn't a real business. We buy a product from their website and 2 weeks after no delivery and no contact. We call to find out what's the hang-up. Guy tells us, uhhhhh we don't have your product and you can wait another month or we can return your money, and I'll even waive the re-stocking fee....thanks man. 2 more weeks go buy and no refund, I have emailed 7 times and called a dozen times and no one returns calls. I had a hundred plus options to go with but chose this business like a moron. Would highly recommend you spend your money at a legit business who values its customers and stay far away from cadlights, unless your cool with dishing out money for no product. read more

Below is a summary of my dealings with MODE Aquariums (CAD Lights Aquariums) regarding the fish tank I received on 12/18/18. From the get go my dealings with MODE Aquariums did not go smooth. I originally emailed them the specifications of the tank I wanted to order. Shortly after I received an invoice for $xxxx.xx plus $600.00 s&h. A few days later they replied back to me and said that they made a mistake and now the tank with shipping was going to be $xxxx.xx which was $600 more than the original invoice. I understand mistakes are made, however, they had already sent me an invoice and that was the price I expected to pay. Still, I wanted the tank so I paid the price of the new invoice. After the order was placed I was told the estimated shipping date would be the 1st week in October. I had multiple phone conversations that I don't have a record of; however, I have forwarded you the emails that I do have. Later I was told it would be shipping out the last week in October. I then contacted them on 11/16/18 because I had not received any tracking or shipping information. I was told that the tank was crated and ready to ship and would go out Monday 11/19/18.  Monday came and I got a call asking me where I wanted the holes drilled in the tank (how could it have been carted ready to ship if the holes weren't drilled?) When asked this, I was told they were finishing it up and it would ship in a couple days. On 11/28/18 I emailed them once again and told them if I didn't receive tracking information I would be opening up a dispute. On the 11/29/18 I received an email stating my tank was scheduled for tomorrows pickup (11/30) they then read the address which was: 396 Quail Hollow Rd., Thomasville, NC. This is clearly not my address. I emailed them and gave them the correct address after which they told they got the address mixed up with another store.  On Friday, 11/30/18 MODE Aquariums then sent me a false tacking number via email. When I tried to check the information there was none, MODE claimed it could take 24 hrs to update tracking.  However, as of the following Tuesday there was still nothing so I contacted the freight company. The freight company told me the number was not a tracking number they used. They looked up my location and found a different number showing my shipment was picked up on Monday 12/3/18 and that MODE had stayed late to finish my order. Funny, they told me it shipped on 11/30. On 12/18/18 I called the shipping company because the tracking number I received stated it would arrive on 12-19-18 and I needed to schedule time off from work to be home to receive it.  The shipping company informed me that it was on the way and should arrive between 1-4pm on 12/18/18. At this point I phoned my boss, left work and head home. Once the shipment arrived the driver and I unloaded the crate with a pellet jack. The two of us inspected the crate and did not notice any damaged so we proceeded to open the crate to further inspect the tank itself. Upon inspection I observed that the tank had a few issues which the driver even made an effort to point out. The damages consisted of: A small chip in the back right corner of the glass. A good size chip in the front bottom panel. A few surface scratches on the inside glass front panel. A few other chips on the edges of the glass which clearly were not due to shipping. Upon more detailed inspection I realized that the holes the company had drilled in the glass (to allow you can attach your plumbing) were drilled very sloppy and had a lot of chips and shatter marks around them.  The right side glass panel on the top of the tank has a small fracture inside the glass pane (This concerns me as I am worried that the crack may spread) When this particular tank is empty it weighs ~1000lbs and when it is full it will weigh nearly 4000lbs (The tank holds 280 gallons of water which is not something I want to risk breaking and flooding my house). In addition to the damages, the tank is not even the correct tank that I ordered. This is my chief complaint. I paid extra money to have a low iron glass front and side panels. Unfortunately, they drilled the front low iron panel and left the normal glass as the front which should have been the back. This may not seem like a big deal; however it is very significant.  When viewing the tank as a display, the low iron makes the glass look as if it's not even there, making it crystal clear and crisp. Standard glass has a haze to it. Now I am in a situation that if I were to set this particular tank up, when you are looking at it from the side the front view and side view will not match. The front will be hazy and not clear. I cannot turn the tank around as they drilled holes in the clear side for the plumbing and it would all be hanging in the front of the tank, which is not very professional or attractive. I had a not so great transaction with CAD Lights also that I figured I pass on to maybe save someone the time/frustration... June 2019 - Visited the CAD Lights showroom and Eric offered a good (cash) price for an Artisan 96 Gallon reef aquarium package (with a stand, sump, glass cover solution, heater, return pump, filter sock w/mount, and even threw in a refugium LED light). He also promised a protein skimmer that was currently out of stock, stating that he would ship it to my door when it comes back in stock (in the next few days). When I got home I noticed that the CADLights site also advertised that an automatic top off (ATO) reservoir was supposed to be part of the package that I purchased. I emailed Eric a couple days later with my delivery address and asked for an update as to when I could expect the skimmer and also asked if he would include the ATO in the shipment. He responded within a couple days stating that the skimmer was not available to be sent out but would be in the next few days. A few weeks passed and I did not receive the skimmer or ATO so I sent another email to Eric requesting an update, I even offered to make the hour+ drive to pick the items up so he could save the cost of shipping them to me. He did not respond. A few more weeks passed and I still did not receive the skimmer, ATO or any response from Eric so I send another few emails politely following up and requesting an estimated delivery date. I receive no more responses from Eric or anyone else at CAD Lights. At that point I called and left voice mails that also went unanswered. Here we are three moths later (September 2019) and this beautiful aquarium is still sitting empty in my living room because I never received the parts that were promised. #1 complaint is customer service, which absolutely sucks! Multiple calls and unanswered emails to try to even convey to them what the problem is, then days or weeks go buy with no response or update, so I have no idea what is going on. I'm supposed to be getting a replacement tank, but it's been over a week since I've heard from them, with 3 unanswered emails and still no new tank. And that leads me to complaint #2, which is design and build quality. There's definitely some serious issues in their design department, as a couple of things on my tank make absolutely no sense. But, even if the design was perfect, the sloppy build quality would still ruin it. Their QA department is also seriously lacking, or non-existent. All-in-all, I will not be giving CAD Lights anymore of my money! read more

I will never buy any tank from this company. They do not ship iteams on time they also dont replace tanks when damaged they give you the run around. Thanks to discover I recieved a refund. Eddie is a liar please beware. I bought a redsea reefer 750xl instead. I have also purchased from Miracles aquariums, Reef savay and they all stand behind product. i ordered the 100G Artisan II Professional Reef system because their website promises "highest quality aquarium packages". i placed the order on sept 17, they said it would take 4-6 weeks for a custom overflow box set up which i paid extra for a total of $2300. i originally asked for updates but no one EVER called me. i tried calling them at least 20 times during this time because NO ONE ever returned my voicemails or picket up calls. They were sure happy to answer when it came time to take my money though! after finally eric answered and said that if i wanted great quality, it takes extra time but it will be worth it. he said that it would to be ready for delivery until november 9, and for that they upgraded my protein skimmer which made me happy and resolved the prolonged wait and frustration from not being able to get a hold of anyone. once it was delivered they did not complete the plumbing because eric didn't have the pvc cutter with him. they also never brought the lid or the filter sock that are advertised to be included. upon inspection the area that is under the tank has delaminating wood which is not supposed to happen in a new CUSTOM tank. eric said that "these custom cabinets have their own unique characteristics that people expect from customizations", meaning that all the warped wood, the cracks in paint and the exposed wood was something that i should be appreciating since its hand made. I DONT THINK SO. the glass is advertised as ultra clear, but on the right and left side the glass had black lines all throughout . i took photos with paper being the glass so you can easier see the defect. how can they advertise clear glass but give me stained glass? the day they set it up they said that the door that was warped from the hinges being forced in too tightly and the other door that was a missing paint chip are an easy fix but he suggested that he come and do paint touch ups. this kind of high gloss cabinet cannot have paint touch ups, it just needs to have the parts replaced. he said that he would come back very soon to finish. i texted with him but he stopped calling me back or texting back. two days ago i received an email saying there is nothing wrong with my tank, and had no name or contact as to who wrote it. i sent additional pictures and asked for boss to contact me. its been 3 WEEKS since the delivery and set up attempt ws made and i still cannot start cycling because I'm waiting forth to replace the part under the tank that has the raw exposed wood where the plastic caps were screwed on too tight. NO ONE HAS EVEN CALLED ME BACK this WHOLE time in the last 3 weeks. so if you dont want defective craftsmanship or terrible bustier service, dont give them your money. good thing i called my credit card and they are disputing the charges for me. ill upload some pictures shortly so everyone can see what they should expect read more

I am so beyond happy with my new 90 gallon CAD Light aquarium. Eddie and Eric are both sooo awesome!!! Thank you for the wonderful package you set up for my grand-babies. I cant say enough to express how incredible the customer service was that they offered. Even staying late to make sure I got just what I wanted.
