The appointment was set for the end of the month. Lara, in the office, called and had an opening for them to come 2 weeks early. The job took 6 days total to do. The guys that came were incredible. 1 star These guys came into my home via mass energy program. Left a huge mess, were not timely, did not do what they were supposed to do. They did not call to confirm they were coming the day before. I had to reach out to them and got a response hours later. Said would be at my home 8-9am. 1st guy showed up at 9:45am. Walked around with him and discussed what would be done. 2nd truck showed up after 10am. They worked until 11:45 am then stopped for "lunch" sat outside in my yard until 1:45pm came back in till just after 3pm and left for the day. Second day they showed up about 830am and were done by 12:30/1 and packed up to leave. I am still unsure of why I had to take two days off of work for them to complete the job, clearly could have been done in 1 day. They told me they would build a insulation board wall 6-8" higher than the blown-in stuff around my storage area. This was to keep the new insulation off of our belongings. THIS WAS NOT DONE. They cut plywood and made my storage area smaller than what it was. (We never discussed this at all. Nor would I have approved this) I have vented soffit and ridge vent in my home. This is also old gable vents on both gables. I discussed with him about putting plastic or something over to close off the table vents as they should not be there. I also had the foam baffles (not sure if that's correct name) in-between the roof rafters. These guys removed them, and sprayed the insulation down into my soffit!!!! (Left the boards stacked up in my attic!) they closed off on gable and not the other... When they went to "clean-up" and we will use that term loosely. They swept the blown-in stuff down my drop down stairs. This left a fine gray dust on everything in my home! Have you never heard of a vacuum with a filter? That stuff was airborne in my home and now my attic! There storage area is covered in this gray "dust"! I was told they were going to make holes thru the storage area floor to blow insulation under it, I HAVE NOT found ANY place this was done. (May have used another method, but that's not what I was told) They built a "box" over the drop down stairs. There is a pipe that comes across the edge of my opening. Instead of making something the box could seal to around the pipe. They notched out the box and packed batt insulation around the pipe. No when you open the box to go up there it pulls it all out from around the pipe and it falls down the stairs. Clearly this is no longer sealed!! When they went into my basement to seal around the chimney chase they switched off my furnace. I noticed it was off the next day when I asked them about this they denied doing anything near it. Like really?!? I had an un-opened bag of 2x4 batt insulation in my attic. Caught one of the guys carrying it down, when I asked him what he was doing he just stared at me. I told him to put it back. Prior to this they asked about some old construction stuff that was left up there. ( window grids, cuts of carpet & scrap of wire) they asked if I would like them to throw the stuff away. I said yes and he carried the stuff out of my house. Upon going up there after they were "done" I found this stuff back in my attic. So because I didn't let you steal my insulation, you brought trash back? Really? I forgot to talk about the doors... they installed weather strip around my doors. None of them close correctly now. They drilled a send set of holes thru the deadbolt plate (not sure why). The striker plates are all loose. I wouldn't let these guys tie my shoes! read more

I used Caddis for blow insulation on my condo. pros: the team is very professional, answered all our questions, handled all the mass save and finished the job on schedule. Cons: they used white instead of clear caulking on our green shingles so there are ugly white lines across the side of our house. They only fixed 3/4 of the shingles that were broken. I'm not annoyed with the broken shingle part, that was expected, but the did say they'd fix them. read more

I was very impressed with Caddis Insulation, who put in insulation for our entire house including attic, all walls, etc. Property had no insulation ever since it was built in 1912! Their team, led by Bien, were so kind, professional, and quick! (was 3 days of work - but they projected 4). The team also invited me to ask all questions and watch them work. Most importantly, it was totally reasonable cost (exactly the estimate!) and the work was done that showed results immediately (it has been low 50s and we needed heat....and Caddis delivered). In addition to doing the items on the MassSave work order (insulating basement sills, knee walls, and blowing in cellulose into walls), they identified some areas that had been overlooked -- and got them added to the order. Two years later, I almost had the exact same scheduling issues with Caddis as detailed in the February 2016 review. I selected Caddis for MassSave insulation work based on proximity to my home and the couple good reviews related to this program. Unfortunately, scheduling was an ongoing issue for greater than 3 months so I recently decided to pursue another contractor. There were scheduling mishaps, lack of confirmation on agreed upon start dates, and no shows. It became an issue where I didn't know how to manage my own work schedule given the lack of communication by Caddis. Not knowing if a contractor is going to show up to your house the morning of an agreed upon date is not the best feeling. My biggest frustration is losing several months and now having to start over. read more

I had Caddis insulate our house through the Mass Save program in April 2018. We were randomly assigned to them -- lucky us! They were able to set up a three-day time period for the work quickly. The crew was kind and worked hard. I was impressed that they insulated the basement that quickly! On the third day, which was a Friday, they had to stop the outside wall insulation due to snow. They said they would be back on Monday, but due to a cancellation, they were able to come back for a fourth straight day and finish everything up. They cleaned up as they went. We can really feel the difference with our new insulation. read more

Terrible. Caddis ruined our clapboards, and a did a poor job repairing the ones that they did. They were too afraid/lazy to go up ladders and fill in some of the walls, so some of our rooms are still freezing in winter. They filled in the existing roof vents with insulation, this has led to a lot of mold, so now we have to remediate. read more

Caddis Insulation was great to work with. They insulated our home in three days - said they would be here when they'd be here - got here early and started on time and worked through the entire day only stopping for a lunch break. The guys communicated everything necessary to us and followed through with what they said they were planning to do. They even put sweeps on two of our doors which I wasn't even expecting - just thought it would be insulation! They added sheetrock in our attic to keep the insulation in and replaced the fiberglass in our ancient wine cellar so no more insulation falling on our heads when we go in there. We have super old windows and while they accidentally broke our attic window - they insisted they'd come back and replace it but I chose not to because we had already ordered a new replacement window anyways so it would be a waste of time (clearly it was in need of replacing so I'm not even upset because it's probably an original window from 1920's) but my point is they were so accommodating and apologetic insisting to come back and fix it. The guys were Covid cautious and anytime they came inside, they wore their masks. They cleaned up after themselves and yes - certainly some dust around the house that I had to clean up but how could they possibly catch it all when our house is over 100-years old and hole and cracks everywhere? Super professional and pleasant to work with. I'd highly recommend them and hire them for any future jobs. My home is finally feeling like the heat isn't heating the entire neighborhood anymore - now just need our contractor to get here and do the windows! I had work done under the Mass Save program in November 2016, and Caddis Insulation was selected by Mass Save as my contractor. Caddis was very accommodating and was able to get the job scheduled on a day that worked well for me. On the day of the work, they not only arrived on time but were a few minutes early. The crew foreman, Wellington, kept me well informed the entire time and made sure to answer all of my questions. The insulation work they did was of very high quality, and the crew clearly took pride in their work. The crew covered furniture and rugs with plastic, and cleaned up when they were done. At the end of the day I couldn't even tell they had been there, except for the fact that my house was now much more energy efficient. In April 2017 I had some more insulation work done again under the Mass Save program. Because of my prior positive experience, I specified Caddis as the contractor. Again they came out when they said they would and did the work in a timely and clean fashion. All the work was done very professionally and there was no mess or any scraps left behind. I am extremely pleased with the work that Caddis did on both jobs, and would not hesitate to hire them again either through Mass Save or directly. In November I contracted through Mass Save to have Caddis insulate my house. Two weeks ago I received a call from 'Dave' at Caddis informing me that they were available to begin the job on Monday--two days hence. I returned Dave's call the following morning and received no response that day. I called Dave on two more occasions in the ensuing days and still got no response. Here it is two weeks later and I have yet to hear back from Caddis. I called Mass Save to complain about Caddis's failure to respond to my calls and now they are in the process of finding me another contractor. Two months wasted in the process! I certainly hope that Caddis's work is of a higher quality than their responsiveness to potential customers. This disappointed potential customer has gone elsewhere. read more

It took them a day longer then they had expected but they finished the indoor work first and came back to do the outside work so I did not need to be present. I tried to call them several times on different days, but their voicemail was apparently full, and I was unable to leave a message. I did leave a message on the owner's cell phone number, twice, and he never called back. I suspect they'll be out of business soon, if they're not already. read more
