These guys came out as a team of 8-10 and did a phenomenal job, very professional and efficient! I was impressed. I had FOUR layers of shingles they scraped off. They replaced some rotted facia board, put down ice/water and roof wrap, sanded and flashed the chimneys too! In the days following, all three of my neighbors approached me individually and inquired about the company who installed my roof, as they watched and were also impressed. All three neighbors are also in need of new roofs. I gave them the number for these guys. This crew was in and out in 12 hours flat and I couldn't be more happy with the job they did. read more

Two men worked June 3 and 4th in our condo. Did insulation in the basement and attic. They were professional, knowledgeable, fast, neat and quiet. I had thought that the process of blowing stuff up into the attic would be noisy but it was very quite. Fascinating seeing it through the tube blowing up into the attic. We were expected to get our shelves out of our clothing closet so they could get up into the attic. I could not get the shelves out myself and they did it for me. On the second day after they had left I dreaded trying to put those shelves back up. Imagine my glee when I looked into the closed and they had put the shelves back up for me!!!! That's not part of their job!!. We are looking forward to being a bit cozier this winter with the new insulation. If you're in need of this work please give this company a call. While driving today in Dorchester one of the drivers for your company was recklessly driving and merged into my lane without looking and drove me almost into the side wall around a rotary. When I beeped to get his attention he flipped me off and started screaming profanities out of his window. He then put his vehicle in park at the exit of the rotary. It's sad to see someone with that much road rage with a driving position. You think when your company logo is all over the sides of the truck and with the number plastered all over the vehicle you think he would have some respect for the company he works for. They showed up on time and were very professional observing all COVID protocols and explaining the details of the job before beginning. I was working at home throughout and aside from the sound of the insulation machine running I never would have known they were around. I recently had my house insulated by ABT and am really happy with the whole process. As you can imagine as a new home owner this work can seem overwhelming but ABT was responsive and communicative throughout the process. I received a couple phone calls prior to the project start date to both schedule the project, confirm project dates and then to remind me a few days before. I found this very helpful since weeks passed between my MASS Save assessment and my insulation project start date. During the project work time, I had the pleasure of working with Deivis and his son Junior. They were both very pleasant and polite. My absolute favorite part was their punctuality and respect for my property. Prior to starting the work, they set up plastic along my floors and cleaned up before they left. Had you walked in my house immediately after they left, you would have had no idea i just had work done on the house. The project lasted four days and every day they arrived on time, towards the beginning of their arrival range, which allowed me to go to work no problem. I will also add that Junior left me paperwork itemizing exactly what they did, highly appreciated. I am overall very happy with ABT and the process of working with them. read more

I would not recommend American Building Technologies. I had first called to make an appointment for an insulation estimate in August. The person on the phone took my information and said she would call me back the next day. A week later and I hadn't received a call back so I called again. She took my information a second time and said she would call the next day (but no phone call the next day). So I called two days after the second call and no answer so I called a fourth time the next day and finally was able to make an appointment for mid-September. My appointment was for 9am. 10am rolls around and no one has shown up and no call to say they were running late. I call the office and she had to call her supervisor to check in to see where he was. She called back 20 minutes later to say he was stuck somewhere. She started asking me again what the appointment was for and to make this story somewhat short, in the end I didn't need to stay home and miss a day of work for an appointment I didn't need. I don't understand why this wasn't determined in the first place during my previous calls when giving all the information I had. Needless to say, it has been a frustrating experience. It seems like the lines of communication are not really working over there and in the end I got nowhere. I am not pleased with my experience with American Building Technologies. read more

The Mass Save assessor, Vincent P., who came out to my home in April 2018, did not leave detailed instructions on the paperwork left for Flavio and his crew to complete the job efficiently. Not to worry though, Flavio called Mass Save directly with his concerns and got the information needed to get things done. Flavio and his crew worked tirelessly for 2 days without taking a single break. I was very impressed with him and his entire crew. All were very respectful of my home and moved quickly, cleaning as they went, both in and outside. This was no easy job, access had to be made where there was none. Worked with ABT to have insulation blown into my house. I went thru the MassSave program to get a discount and worked with Stephanie to arrange the appointment. Stephanie was great to work with and even kept me in mind when they had slots open up. Workers arrived on time and moved through the work efficiently. They even called to check on see if I was satisfied with the service and the team. I was pumped - the insulation they put in started working immediately! I got hooked up with ABT through MassSave, to install blown-in insulation for my condo unit. At first I had selected another company, but that other company sat on the contract for almost a month before telling me that they would not accept the contract (because it was too small, probably?). So I picked ABT to take over the contract and was not disappointed. Their admin got in touch with me in a matter of days and was able to schedule the job for about a week later, and the team showed up within the hour promised. They were courteous and efficient, and although the process itself made a godawful racket (hammering, blasting, blowing, etc.-- all the things you'd associate with tearing the siding off of a house, blowing it full of insulation, and nailing the siding back on), after they were done there was barely any visible trace that they had been there. ABT completed blown-in insulation in my Dorchester 3rd floor unit in November 2010. Romain and Jose were friendly, easy going, professional and the work was completed on time (minus a vent that was put in two weeks later). The place was vacuumed clean which made me very happy. They were in and out in a day and everything put back the way it was. I even have an extra flashlight now :) In all, great experience, responsive professionals and the price felt right. I'm not sure if it's psychological but the place feels warmer and my heating bill is showing 24% less usage over the last month compared to the same time last year even though there are more people living here now. American Building Technologies came to my home to do my insulation work via Mass saves. Davis and Junior were the father-son team who did the job. I cannot tell you how thorough they were, they got every nook and cranny with the spray foam and did an amazing job with the blown in cellulose insulation. They did parts of my house that I had no idea would be included in the job. They worked for two straight days in boiling hot conditions and were pleasant cheerful and courteous the entire time. I wish that every contractor that came to my house we're like them! So impressed and I recommend this company to anybody! I think this is the first Yelp review I have ever done but this company is SOOO worth it. They are professional, clean as they come (laid plastic everywhere they worked), spot on time working a 9+ hour day every day, polite and most of all, they KNOW what they are doing. They insulated my entire house (not an easy job - going through inside walls), wrapped heating pipes, added roof vents as well as insulation to attic and ceilings - and through it all, clean as could be when they left. Every hole was patched..all that needed to be done was a little wet sand and spot paint and that was it. The guys were a great crew! Thank you, Jesus, Davis, and Mike! The Mass Save program recommended that we have insulation blown into our walls, so we hired ABT to do the work. First, they didn't put enough insulation in the walls, so the Mass Save inspector said that they had to come back a second time to put in more. Second, they failed repeatedly to get the proper parking permits (even after I warned them multiple times that the parking situation in our neighborhood is tricky), so the work got delayed. All of this disrupted my work schedule and wasted my time. These people need to get their act together! read more

Couldn't have been more professional! We have gone through ABT for insulation through Mass Save Program. The work layout was discussed with us prior to it being done. They would tell us the steps and the additional add-on they would need to do to the house in regards to the roof, siding, and basement. If they were unsure of a situation, they would address it with us first before doing so. They cleaned up after themselves when they were all done and it was actually cleaner before they arrived! My review is solely on the difficulty of getting anyone from this company to assist me. I attempted several times to complete ABT's online "contact us" form on their website in order to connect with ABT, but upon completion and submission of the form, I'd receive an error message. From there, I phoned the company 4 times. The first 3 phone calls I placed led to me being hung up on immediately after I said "hello", or the answering machine would not allow me to leave a voicemail. The 4th call led to me speaking with someone, where I alerted the company to my challenges in attempting to reach them, and I also provided the receptionist with exact details regarding me request, along with my contact information and availability to speak with a Project Manager. I was assured that this project manager would phone me and we may begin discussing the details regarding my spray foam insulation request. It has been several days and no one from ABT has contacted me. This is certainly NOT the way to deal with potential customers; if this is the level of difficulty presented when I am simply requesting information, I can only imagine how difficult working with this company could be. I could not be happier with the work this company did on my house yesterday, I have an AFrame house,which is all roof and angled walls. This was a big project. The workers came in on Tuesday am,because of all they had to do, I made the choice to leave for the day, Isreal the main person in charge gave me his cell phone number to check with them on progress, he told me it could take 2 days, now I have an indoor cat, so I asked if they could stay late to finish, which he said they would, at 7:30 pm he called me to tell me they were done. When I arrived back home I was not sure what to expect, because I did check back in to my house mid day and it was a real mess, holes all over my walls lots of dust. Now for the BEST PART, I entered my house and everything was spot less, the holes in the walls all patched and covered, all I need to do this put a coat of paint on and you would never know what had been done.Surely going to make a big difference in my heating bill this winter. Fabian and Albert were super nice; they arrived mid-afternoon from a big job and discovered that ours was more than they had thought it would be but still worked until 6 pm. Fabian then came back the next morning to finish. We were due a refund because the check from Mass Save was more than the job actually cost - it arrived quickly just as they said it would. i had abt blow insulation into my house in Cambridge. i got to abt through the mass-save approved contractor list, On the list they claim to be located in Boston though they are actually in lynn. Hard to tell how well the work was done but they were extremely unprofessional and managed to piss off my neighbors by blocking an active driveway. Putting equipment all over the sidewalk and leaving trash on another neighbors property . What was supposed to be a 1 day job took 3, Because they were 5 hours late on day 1 and 4 hours late on day 2. Finally they did some work inside the house with a lot of yelling, running around and generally acting badly. My wife, was uncomfortable being alone in the house while they were there My advice - go with someone else read more

We had insulation done with these guys. Since I do not know anything about this business, at the time I thought they did their job. I had a painter come in to paint the house and he said they did very poor job with plugs (they had to drill holes in the siding to pump in insulation). They were uneven, did not match etc. Also, the owner is quite forgetful. We have discussed him doing a side of the basement as well, I confirmed it via the phone and once they came, they basically did not do it. I had other people come in and look at air sealing they did, they could not believe the job they had done. read more

Very professional, hard working and they insulated spots that I wouldn't have considered so in my view it was obvious that they know what they are doing. Work was completed on time and they setup cleaners to come in and dust the place which was incredibly necessary. The cleaners did a great job as well.
