Add us to that list. There really was no comparison with other options in the area after meeting with Paul (owner) and Linda (previous director) and a few of the teachers. No fluffy pretense, just straightforward and positive attitudes across the board. Effective leadership + excellent teachers = outstanding program. Despite all this, we were nervous our first few weeks as we were leaving our nearly 2-year-old son with strangers for the first time. We called on the first day and Paul (owner) answered the phone and put us at ease. He offered to walk down and take a look for us, and said that our son was playing - laughing, even. He said to call whenever we were concerned. We did, and each time our boy was either having fun or napping. (Incredible!) Once, getting the feeling that maybe Paul was exaggerating a little to make us feel better, I came early to pick up our boy. It was no exaggeration - he was having a ball. It's lasted three years - he was excited to see his friends and teachers when I dropped him off just this morning. Not only was he incredibly well prepared to start school in IPSD 204 from an academic standpoint, but also socially and emotionally. The school is very well run - with top notch communication and a staff of talented, caring teachers. The staff put on regular education nights for parents, and with no judgment, really helped me identify how to be the best mom I can be. While in the Kindergarten program, our son was asked to be a leader in the classroom and take on more responsibilities. It was so wonderful to watch him thrive and be cared for by an entire staff of smart, devoted, and empathetic women. Thank you so much, MCG, for giving our son the best start! We received pictures, notes, and updates daily through their app. The directors, Ms. Rachna and Ms. Alyssa, are simply wonderful. They work so hard to make the center a true community, and we enjoyed all the daycare parties they hosted outside of normal hours to allow families to connect and socialize.
