However, most of the team was NOT age appropriate and included even a 10 year old! Needless to say they lost 99% of their games because 14 year olds are a lot larger than 10, 11, and 12 yr olds. Clearly they don't have enough participants to assemble teams of the same age group. Half way through the season they cut my daughters playing time to 14%. ( I timed it!) We would sit for 6 hours watching volleyball games and she only got 20 minutes of playing time! After two tournaments of this I addressed the coaches/I got the standard answer. "Players will not get the same playing time"..yada yada yada. She was no longer progressing in the sport and she grew to hate it. I can only assume its because of the things mentioned above. And I wasted a lot of precious time watching other peoples kids play.

But nestled within all of it is actually a dog park, and I've taken my dog multiple times cannot wait for spring to come to take him again. It is a great plot of land that is split into two sections. You have one section for smaller dogs, and one for bigger dogs. More than enough space for your furry friend to run and get a good workout in. There is walking path on the perimeter of the park which is a nice little walk with your own pup (sometimes multiple pups who opt to tag along). It can get crowded at the park at times, but you really only need a good solid 30 minutes - just bring some water in case. There are a ton of dog bowls throughout the park but good to have extras!

I found out the hard way, the 2011-2012 Traveling Soccer Commitment fee is NON-REFUNDABLE (so they…read moresay). It is not on any of the Team Chicago / WAA websites nor in any written documentation distributed during registration. For the 2011-2012 soccer tryouts, Team Chicago pulled a fast one. They raised the commitment (sign-up) fee to $300 (originally $200 in prior years) and held 2 soccer tryouts (one in early May and one in early June). In prior years, tryouts were held in early June, the same week all other soccer clubs have their tryouts so your child has a chance to tryout at various clubs (a fair method for existing travel soccer players). However this year, during their May tryouts they said you had 48 hours to commit or else they would not hold a spot on the soccer team which your child was offered. Well guess what, I paid. They cashed my check before the next (June) tryouts. We got a better opportunity at another soccer club and de-committed at Team Chicago that same week of the June tryouts. The front office person was nice and told me refunds were running 2 weeks late meaning others were in the same boat as I was. Well turns out 6 months later after getting the run around so many times the Team Chicago Director, who never took the time to talk to me nor answer any of my emails finally said no ( I had to get the parent company -Wheatlands Athletic Association's Manager of Finance and Operations to get a response). SO BEWARE. Team Chicago / WAA is a non-for-profit organization so they don't care about keeping customers as they know you won't return.

From inconsistency with rules, terrible referees, to changing of the field every game. The owner Mango has never shown up to a game among all the issues several of the teams expressed, even the day we almost got kicked off the field because he didn't handle the public permit regulations with the township. All in all, poorly run and facilitated I don't encourage anyone to play at this facility or organization. We have discontinued our time here and will be taking our money to well run and professional organized sports like Chicago Fire Pitch. (BTW CFRS is one of the best facilities to play at both aesthetically and organizationally)

It seems Coach Dunc saw exactly what my son's skill strengths were, where he needs to improve, and taught him how to become a better player. He is also fair to all players. He pushed them hard on fundamentals and conditioning, but also, let them enjoy the game. A great coach.
