We live near a facility and assumed that our little guy would go there - but when we did our visit, it was just ok. Now what? A good friend sends her children to The Gardner School of Oak Brook and recommended the Naperville location to me. When we checked the school out, I cried over how much I loved it (and I'm not a crier - I'm super pale and get very blotchy; it's not cute). We signed him up immediately and have been happy with that decision ever since. First, the location is easily accessible from a variety of locations - we are in downtown Naperville, but have friends who are in Aurora, Sugar Grove, Wheaton, etc. The facility is secure and requires two passcodes before entering the main area. It's also extremely clean - I wish my house was that clean... :) But the most important part of TGS is the care and attention that the teachers and directors give the kids. My son started TGS when he was almost four months old, and even though I knew the school was wonderful, it was still scary to leave him for a full day. The teachers and directors are patient, kind, and caring - both with the students and the parents! They are always available for any questions and concerns throughout the day, and I definitely checked in a lot during those first few weeks of school. They are also available for advice - as a first-time parent, I had no idea when to transition my son to the next diaper size or how to introduce solid foods. The teachers helped us with everything, and have made parenting so much easier. TGS has an app that delivers updates throughout the day. I subscribe to all the updates, so I receive notifications when my son eats, has a diaper change, takes a nap, or does any of the fun activities that the teachers prepare for the kids. We also receive pictures during the day, and we love seeing our little guy having fun with his friends. Our two years at the school have been wonderful, and we plan to keep him at TGS until they kick us out :) Seeing our son make friends and learn so much every day has been more than worth the cost to attend, and we could not be happier with the school!

The director Katie and her entire staff are passionate, hands on and have excellent communication. We transferred to Active Childcare from a different private daycare and it was the best decision we could have made. Every day our child is excited to go to "school" and adores his teachers. Walking down the hallways, you can feel the warm, safe learning environment. The facility is HUGE in size and they place an emphasis on movement, play and daily time outdoors. Each week we receive an education plan with what the focuses are. We are impressed by the carry over from classroom to our home. Our son is about to count to 10, sing his ABCs, and tell us about his day--and he's not even 2! AC provides such a caring, structured environment. We get updates constantly throughout the day of what our child eats, photos, videos etc. The teachers are always accessible and extremely responsive with their communication. They have been extremely kind and accommodating for our family, especially when it comes to scheduling. My child is my whole world. Who I trust him with is the most important decision and I chose and continue to choose Active Childcare.

We have been going here for about 1 year and are very pleased. Many daycare centers require a set…read moreschedule, but this center allows us the flexibility that we need for our changing work schedules. The kids seem happy there, and they do fun projects. Management has changed recently, and the front office seems to be running more smoothly now (although I wasn't unhappy before). Teacher turnover is probably typical for daycare centers. My children's teachers have changed a few times in the last year. But I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, since they will have numerous different teachers once they start elementary school. If I had one complaint it would be location. I like that they aren't located right on a busy road, but there is an auto repair center right next door, which creates some environmental/air quality concerns. Overall I would recommend the facility.

Our older daughter has attended Cosmic since she was 2 years old and has had an amazing experience…read more We toured and interviewed several Montessori facilities in the area and chose Cosmic because of its unique layout and beautiful grounds. The first thing you will notice when you walk into the building is complete silence...no kids running around and shouting. Everything is very orderly and calm. The children are usually busy with their "work cycles" and they truly love the structure that Cosmic gives them! Our daughter's vocabulary exploded within a few weeks of starting class simply by talking with the other kids! We had been struggling with potty training and she got it down within a month after encouragement from her classmates! She is now in the 3-6 year old classroom and can count to 100, recognizes basic words, and loves to help us cook at home with her plastic knife. She also loves talking about what she learned from the "big kids" in her classroom. The staff are all wonderful to every child, even those who are not in their classroom. Every teacher in the building knows our daughter and get so excited to see her when we drop her off. She was taught by Ms Mayra in the Harmony Room (2 year olds) and by Ms Namita in the Journey Room (3-6 year olds). We have had nothing but positive experiences with both. In the Harmony Room, we received daily emails at the end of each day reporting what she ate and her bathroom activity, along with any comments (ex. "She made a new friend today!") and daily pictures from her activities in the classroom. It has truly given her confidence and fostered her sense of independence! They try to take the kids outside for a bit every day - this is aligned with the Montessori curriculum - they only skip outdoor time if the weather is too bad. They hold seasonal activities such as ice cream social in the summer, weekend trip to Morton Arboretum in the fall, picnic in the spring, etc. which is nice for us parents to meet each other. They also have holiday events such as Valentine's exchange and breakfast on Mother's Day. We love it all! If you are hesitating on whether or not to send your child to Cosmic, just do it! But our worries were unfounded and we have been extremely impressed with the staff and facilities. The teachers and staff are very accommodating and caring towards our son. He comes home happy every day and feels accepted and loved here. My wife and I have also noticed that his vocabulary has improved drastically and he learns something new everyday.
