I would pay just to have the mahi mahi, orzo salad, and asparagus again. We are already talking about what we'd like to do next with Cape Fear Adventure Company!!!

The owner, and tour guide, Kay Lynn was great. Very knowledgeable about the ecosystems and the river. We selected the Eagles Island kayak tour. Kay Lynn made it very easy for us. Supplied everything we needed, outside of water (note, do not bring plastic bottles). We had a blast. I would highly recommend WOA. Kay Lynn has three main tours, Eagles Island, Masonboro Island and Greenfield Lake. You can book and pay for a tour using the WOA website. I highly recommend WOA.

We saw several birds native to the area, including an anhinga and several egrets. We also saw two alligators!! I felt completely safe the entire tour. Kay gave us lot of fun facts and info about the landscape, including information about the rice canals, the plants, and different invasive species. This place is functional as an indoor soccer field, and Janine (the owner and operator) has created an athletic environment for adults and children which is great. The field/play. I won't say much about the carpet since it will be replaced, but you CANNOT wear anything with studs. So no out door cleats for sure; recommend futsol shoes if you can. Christmas will come with gifts of new turf. It will not have the rubber under it, but it will definitely be a HUGE step up. I believe once this happens, I will consider upping this review to 4 stars. The field has this "arc" that is approximately 10' from the goal which is different than anything I have ever played. Actually, that is why I am dropping a star. The rule does not allow ANYONE to go into the arc (similar to hand ball). The goalie cannot come outside of the arc unless one foot is in or jumps out; this is just UN-NATURAL! I have been playing for 27 years and I cost us two penalty kicks because I was in the arc when I was trying to stop the ball. I think it is just over thinking injuries and trying to be too protective of the keeper. However, if a defender was allowed to actually put the goal to his back, he can protect the goalie more...I just want everyone to know, it is very different and I don't like it. Moreover, one sideline has a wall (12' highish) and the side closest to the stands has a net...I have never played in a place where the net is INBOUNDS?!?!? I know it is expensive, but I would recommend plexiglass. The ball is a sudo nerf ball...When I asked Janine why, she said that it is easier on the goalies since they get hit so much (THIS IS BECAUSE DEFENDERS CANNOT BE IN THE WAY OF THE SHOT DUE TO THE ARC or the goalie cannot come out!!!). Lastly, people do not wear shin guards, although you can if you want. Leagues: Seems there are three divisions and I believe she said there are 28 teams this season? 10 games and each team costs $400. Skill levels vary, but the games are 5v5, so most people run a 1-2-1 or a 2-2 formation. Subs are on the fly and D3 didn't have to much aggressiveness (I saw 3 games). Our game was at 830pm, but I believe D3 plays on Wednesdays from 730-1030 pm. D1 is Mon...D2 Tues... The facility can host birthday parties and has a large stands area for the size of the warehouse...I guess people have been playing pick up at this location for 10 years or so and it use to be a lot smaller. They also have after school kids activities. I read the flyer and was pretty impressed with their commitment to kids. Recommendations: 1-Change the turf...2-get rid of the ARC and let us play normal indoor soccer....2-put plexiglass up...4-see if we can add another field...5-play with a real soccer ball.

The management and staff are truly amazing and Mrs. Janine runs a tight ship to ensure the children are in a safe yet fun environment. Jacob made sure the kids mastered one skill before he introduced the next, and guided them to make their own choices about which waves to try. He offered really constructive advice as they learned balance and got their footing. He was enthusiastic, and he was just as excited as the kids were when they stood up for the first time. The kids had a great teaching experience, AND they caught some good waves! In addition, I really appreciated that the instructors check the conditions before lessons and making sure it was a safe environment to learn to surf for the first time. When an offshore storm made the conditions too rough for first time surfers, Jacob recommended we wait a day, and WB Surf Camp was able to adjust our lesson times to ensure everyone would have a safe and fun time in the waves. We were so excited to get our girl back into daycare after a great experience at our last daycare. We recently moved to NC and chose Kiddie Academy after all the good reviews (which we are beginning to think are fake). We dropped her off after doing zero paperwork. The assistant director was very nice but the director, Courtney, couldn't have been less caring or friendly with us. We finally got access to the cameras a few hours after dropping her off. In the short 30 minutes of watching we saw the teachers be EXTREMELY rough with children, kids that weren't even ours. Slamming kids on their butts, dragging cots with kids in them across the room, yanking kids out of bed by one arm and flipping kids over in their cots so rough the kids looked like little ragdolls. We didn't see anything physically with our kid except for her being distraught and trying to get attention of the teachers who didn't give her as much as a pat on the head for comfort. It was an awful 30 minutes of watching video footage and we high tailed it to pick her up. After showing footage to the director she didn't apologize once or act like she cared at all. She did agree the behavior was rough when asked point blank but "she knows the teachers and they aren't rough"....the owner refunded us without as much as a phone call or email asking what happened. This daycare could care less about the well being of their students and it's truly sad. Be careful sending your kids here!

Poor response to emails, in person requests (to speak to owner) and other concerns etc It took other parents to tell us what they learned was going on in some cases. For ex, the kids were digging a hole in the play yard finding a construction nail, pipe , etc.and if hurt parent was not contacted. They are often sent home with very dirty clothes and hands which is okay if going directly home, but not if heading to a restaurant. Four year olds are unattended in bathrooms for 10 minutes per video tape. Safety wise could easily go in behind another parent (code used) .We could walk out with an unrelated child. They are understaffed and one time we walked in to see several blocks being thrown across the room by a classmate. When I brought it to staffs attention, she turned around and grabbed the classmate's arm and took him to sit on a beanbag chair, but I guess that's not considered time out because KA claims not to use that as a form of discipline . Apparently summer camp is offered only to favored students- no other criteria used or explained to parents. Parents reached out to other parents about this concern and then to the director who said the choice was randomly created due to space limitations. So while some kids left for fun camp activities, the others stayed behind. I think a schools director either makes or breaks a school. I guess as long as there is a critical need for daycare in the county, many will continue to look the other way.
