Alice is a gem, she's was the one that did the hearing test and worked with me and no question is unimportant or silly......Alice answered every question etc. Larry who schedules appointments, makes me a fresh coffee, has a personality that makes me want to stay in there office. After several other audiologists left the Dr.'s office, I came under Olivia's care. I find her to…read morebe very professional and thorough. We discussed my history and how I came finally get hearing aids. Olivia has extensive knowledge of the different hearing aid brands and where each have their strengths and weaknesses. A couple years after I started seeing her, she recommended I upgrade to a different brand--one that would be better suited for my type of hearing loss, and would provide a better hearing experience. She explained many of the options, and why she was selecting this particular brand and model. Hearing aids can be quite expensive, and I was reluctant, but went ahead, and I'm glad I did. I feel Olivia went out of her way during the fitting period (and after) to make sure that I was getting the most out of the aids. We tweaked, and would talk to hear the effects of the changes. We would talk about certain words, sounds, environments, etc that were problems for me, and she would either tweak my settings or programs. She always told me to call and come in if the recent changes were not helpful. She also scheduled six month visits to check in and make sure things were going as they should. It's obvious to me that she's passionate about Audiology and her client's hearing. I don't feel like just another appointment. I know she's going to treat me like I was her only appointment for the day. In addition to being very knowledgeable about the actual aids, she is very attune to the effects of hearing loss and we've had discussions about how to be aware of my environment, the other noises around me and how I can make little changes to get the most out of my hearing aids and improve my quality of life.

She had no consideration for the fact that I am the one who is living with the hearing loss not her. At one point I had to stop her rant on how I was being totally irresponsible in not getting a hearing aid, only to be told not to interrupt her. This was not a discussion about my quality of life, this was a discussion about her selling me a hearing aid. I found out that she is out of network for my insurance coverage and wonder if that was the reason she was treating me with less consideration? The rest of the office Drs. and staff are as sweet as can be, yet, beware of her cocky and hostile attitude.

Mei Gao solved problems for me that other audiologists were unable to. She understands the new…read moretechnologies as well as the medical and psychological issues involved with hearing loss. She helped me to understand what I was hearing and to form reasonable expectations for the future. She is very smart, thoughtful and considerate. She listens and does not interrupt. I am so grateful that I found Mei, after having been unsuccessful with several previous audiologists. I was very discouraged when Mei left Penta Hearing in Princeton a few years ago, but I then discovered that she had opened Mayflower Hearing in Yardley PA, and I was happy to drive the 30 min each way to see her. She has now returned to Princeton.

Note that these are merely nurse practitioners, not actual medical doctors, whose training is far more extensive. I came here only for the convenience but will never return.
