I hadn't been in the office in a while, and I started receiving text messages asking me to come in for a "Free" checkup. I went into the office and saw a new doctor, she was very nice. During the exam, she asked if , i wanted a Shingles vaccination. That I wasn't told, I would be billed for it. I guess, I assumed the vaccination was covered by my Medicare or Keystone 65. I left the office. A few weeks later , I received a bill for $362. Turns out the vaccination was not covered and I'm being charged $362. for a shingles vaccination that is given for FREE at most Pharmacies. I tried talking to them, my wife who worked for Temple Health for a number of years called and spoke to them. They insist that I have to pay for this supposedly "Free" Doctor's visit. I'm on a low monthly Social Security Check. I basically have money for food and a roof over my head. I tried to explain my problem and was just blown off because Temple Health doesn't have anyway to adjust their billing for this Injustice . I guess I won't be able to buy groceries for a few weeks. "My Doctor should have told me there was a charge for a vaccine", that I didn't need, or really want. Temple Health had been Hounding me for 7 months for payment , through repeated texts, email, and phone. Be very careful of this office . You could easily be misled and harassed like I am being now.

She took my blood pressure and it was good, but I am sure if she came back in and took it now it would be elevated! My husband passed away and I was given insurance through the VA due to my husband being disabled at the time of his passing. It took me 3 months to acquire the insurance however they made the date retroactive to the date my husband passed. Between this time I had been to this practice once. I explained to them the situation and was told that they did not take this insurance. I had to go through finding a new provider and changing doctors only to get an explanation of benefits from my new insurance stating they paid them in full. I then find them listed on the CHAMPVA website as one of their providers! So the lady either blatantly lied to me or she had no idea what she was talking about and how to do her job. Needless to say this pissed me off. This biller needs to go through the training process again and learn how to do her job.

Most of the time, if I need to get any tests like x-rays, mammograms etc. I would go to Elkins Park. This particular test was not done there so I chose Einstein Center One. They offer services for primary care and specialty doctors located in Northeast Philadelphia. It was easy to find and had plenty of free parking. Security was friendly, helping me find my way. I had pre registered on line, so checking in was seamless. I didn't have to wait but about 10 minutes and was called in for my study. The technician was friendly and made me feel at ease. I was out and on my way in least than a hour. I would definitely go back to the location and highly recommend it.

She was genuinely interested in my overall health and went above and beyond to take care of all my needs. It's hard to switch doctors but she made me feel comfortable and I'm glad she's part of this practice. This medical group has always been great about calling me back and getting me in the office ASAP when I'm sick. They have late evening appointments which work great with my schedule. I highly recommend them for anyone who's looking for a general physician in the Northeast!

I was told to follow up w my primary doctor which I did not have at the time. I scheduled an appointment w Dr. Johnson provided her the ER paperwork n RX bottle she refused to assist me with my panic attacks. She was brief w my medical history and showed lack of concern. I scheduled an appointment with a Psych two weeks later. During that period I suffered massive panic attacks and was completely miserable. The office would not help me and referred me back to the ER. Now I am stuck with a $200 ER bill for a diagnosis that could have been treated by Dr. Johnson and the office. I've been experiencing increased symptoms associated with diabetes (to which I have both a maternal and paternal history of this diagnosis). I called to request bloodwork to rule out the condition. I spoke with two individuals--I was told they couldn't see me for 1-2 months, because time has to be open for "sick" patients. I wouldn't be requesting the appointment if I wasn't feeling sick. The woman then went on to say that I've only been there four times since 2018 (I'm not sure how that's relevant?). The reason, of course, is due to how difficult it is to get an appointment. As a result, I've generally gone to urgent care when I have a cold, etc., as I know I'll be seen in a reasonable amount of time. My PCP is Dr. Rosen, who I've only seen once (my first visit), every other time I've been with Dr. O'Brien. Both doctors are very kind. I am a Psychologist; regardless of how good I am, clients must be met with respect by the staff that is the first point of contact. They are a representation of your practice. I will now be changing my primary care physician. Highly recommend that office staff receive professional development in effective, compassionate communication.
