The order was for 1500 sq ft of Bitter Blue sod. He and his crew arrived on time, leveled the yard, removed roots and graded surface for proper drainage. They were done in 2 hours. He reviewed care and watering and suggested an excellent lawn service for fungicide and fertilizer follow up. Three weeks post sod layment and my grass looks fantastic. I got a couple of quotes for 2,000 sq feet of St. Augustine and they all came in around the same. The difference was that Charlie could do the job sooner than the other companies. Install was quick, happened in a single day. I was skeptical about the fact that they don't kill everything in the yard because my yard was full of weeds and crap from when the previous owner lived here, and I didn't want any of those lawn blemishes to survive a re-sod. He instructed me to water it daily for 30 days, which I did. The only complaint I have is that there's one part of the grass by the rear fence and it's a pretty large part, that is completely dead and I'm pretty sure it's because it's not getting hit by any sprinkler. Charlie evaluated the yard before he did the install and let me know where there were needed sprinkler heads. If I had known about this one area, I would've ensured proper irrigation before it was installed and completely died. Overall, lawn maintenance and care can be costly. I'm hoping that this lawn will survive for many years and I won't have to spend thousands of dollars fixing it ever again.
