One of the few places in Pittsburgh where you can get a Taylor Ham/Pork roll breakfast sandwich! Has been one of my favorite spots for years and a hidden gem in Mt. Washington. I love the banana fosters latte and it pairs well with your breakfast. All breakfast sandwiches come with a little fruit cup. The owners are so sweet and the service is always great. Be patient when you go, they have a small but mighty staff! Easiest to call your order ahead for pickup. Inside and outside seating with cute decor from local artists. As I've posted before, I'm a bit of a coffee snob and I prefer local, non-corporate coffee. I also like places with personality, great customer service and, of course, great coffee. Cafe cravings had it all. It's old school -- and seems to attract people from all walks of life. There was a line out the door and only two workers but they were hustling while simultaneously bantering with the locals and maintaining a great attitude. We ordered breakfast sandwiches and an americano, which were as tasty as we'd have hoped, but the 5 star review has far more to do with the authenticity of this neighborhood gem. Sometimes extraordinary service prompts an updated review. I have loved Cafe Cravings over the years, but during the Pandemic, their service and sense of community shines even more. On top of that, the food and drink are the best, they use the freshest ingredients. I tried their Sunday Dinner yesterday, and it was delightful. Have dined here several times in the past three months. Usually coffee, teas, breakfast sandwich platters, and lunch salad I think there's an island theme, related to where the coffee beans are from. It's a simple place with personal touches and service. Everything is fresh. There's a small bathroom in the corner- which I marvel at how it fits in the space. There are several tables with a constant flow of visitors. The people who work there are nice to everyone. read more

I really like this place but they need to have more than 2 people working on a busy morning. I waited 40 minutes for 2 iced coffees and 2 bagels. If they have 1 more person working it would take wait times down a lot. So just beware if there's a bit of a line it may take a while. read more

Adorable little coffee shop in Mount Washington. We stopped here before heading to brunch because I was craving a crafted coffee. The shop's menu is impressive considering the cozy size. The atmosphere is very beatnik meets eclectic. The brick exterior and tree lines sidewalks reminds you of simpler times in a small town neighborhood. It's so perfect it should be in every town. I ordered a French Vanilla Cappuccino. The pricing was in line with large chains but I am much happier spending it at a shop such as this than any of those establishments. We sat and sipped our coffees and people watched. Seems they have their fair share of regulars. One man came in with his French Bulldog and enjoyed his coffee while studying the morning paper. The dog was well behaved and oh so cute. I was a little surprised he was allowed inside but it certainly didn't bother me. They had many food items that looked and sounded quite good, but we were going to brunch afterwards so we just enjoyed our drinks. My only, and small complaint, would be I wish they had mugs to drink from. The paper cups are great if you're on the go, but to sit and drink there I would have preferred a mug. Come early if you want a baked good, as everything but the croissants and biscotti seems to go quickly on the weekends. The most delicious and cheap breakfast food I've had in Pittsburgh!! We walked in and were greeted by the owner who was so gosh darn sweet. Got a bacon egg and cheese, donut, and some iced coffees. Holy moly-really can't think of anything that could've been better. Awesome prices and probably even cheaper than Dunkin Donuts for 10x the quality. Do yourself a favor and grab a breakfast sandwich and a coffee here... or at the very least go and meet the owner! :) read more

My neighborhood cafe! Wonderful spot, their drinks are flavorful and comforting and if you are lucky and able to get some of their breakfast sandwiches do your best to treat yourself! Depending on what time you go the line can be out the door and the wait can be long so hopefully you're not in a rush. Such a charming and sweet neighborhood coffee shop! For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to live in walking distance to a coffee shop. I feel so lucky to have this shop in easy walking distance to my home. Every time we visit, there are locals hanging and having good conversation in the shop- every one is super friendly and the staff know everyone by name. It's the cutest. Their menu is great- they have something for everyone. I typically go for one of the roasts they have and its always delicious. They also have a great selection of paninis and sandwiches and smoothies and they even grill outside in the nice months for some delicious food to-go! Love love this place! read more

Don't know why this has 4.5 stars. I arrived and was told to wait before I could order. Understandable as they were understaffed but they didn't tell me how long to expect waiting for. 15 min later, I was still there at the counter while the two workers were still making drinks for other customers. My girlfriend and I were looking for a new local coffee shop to venture out to and once we landed at Cafe Cravings we knew we hit the jack pot! Immediately we were greeting by a sweet, charming man (who I am assuming is the owner) who helped us decide on what to get and never rushed us, and the other worker was just as sweet making sure we were all settled. We decided to split a jelly filled powder donut, a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and two ice lattes (White Silk and Caramel Cream), and let me just say they were amazing and very reasonably priced (about $17)! Definitely worth looking into this hole in the wall coffee shop. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the shop itself makes you feel right at home. We will be back to Cafe Cravings! read more

Since recently moving to Mount Washington I've been on the hunt for a go to local coffee shop. We stopped by Cafe Cravings around 11:30 on a Sunday morning. The inside is small and quaint and there are tables with umbrellas outside on the sidewalk. We waited in line a bit to order, and decided on tea and a smoothie to drink and a pesto turkey panini and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant to eat. We waited a while longer for our food. While we waited, several couples and groups came in, waited in line for a few minutes, then decided to go elsewhere. Our food finally arrived, and both were sandwiches were decent. My egg sandwich was yummy but could have used more egg. The turkey panini came out on a very thin bread, almost like the sandwich thin brand bread you would find at giant eagle. So, not entirely a panini in my opinion. Not sure that Cafe Cravings will be my new go to cafe, but I will likely stop back for a quick breakfast and latte. read more

We stayed at a hotel nearby overnight but we didn't get any coffee when we left in the morning. We were going to brunch at a place nearby but decided to try this little place out because we don't have any little coffee shops in our town. Nothing too special inside but just a good kind of neighborhood feel. They have their regulars and you can bring your dog in here too! I wish we had something like this close to us. We both ordered a cappuccino. We sat down and enjoyed it. They have pastries here and other food if you are interested. If we weren't going to brunch I would probably have ordered something. They have a large menu for different cravings as their name suggestions. The cappuccinos were really good and if you in the neighborhood and want some caffeine definitely stop by this place and check it out! read more

I'm staying with my friend in Mount Washington this week and saw that Café Cravings was nearby. I've gone twice this week and enjoyed it both times! The first time I went was in the morning before work and I was the only one there. The woman working was so friendly. I ordered an iced banana foster with white chocolate and a bacon, egg and cheese on croissant. The drink was perfectly flavorful and the sandwich was tasty! The prices were also great. Since the sandwich was fresh, it did take her a little while and she apologized for the wait, but I didn't mind because she was very friendly and the quality was worth it! Also, a bonus is that it comes with orange slices as a side. I also went this morning, a Saturday, and it was way busier with three people working. The wait was a little long, but again it was worth it because of their friendliness and the quality. I definitely recommend checking this place out. read more
